The Gun Control Act of 2009

This bill, H.R. 45, was introduced by congressman Bobby Rush of Illinois.

`Blair Holt's Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act of 2009'.

It provides that...

To own a firearm people must get permission from the Attorney General

  • provide a picture
  • name and address
  • birthplace and date of birth
  • be fingerprinted

The owner of such a license will certify that the gun will be stored safely. Before being licensed the applicant will be required to pass a test on any subject the Attorney General deems appropriate.

And, of course, pay a fee.

It shall be illegal to sell or give a gun to anyone without getting a licensed dealer involved and documenting the sale or transfer.

The government must know who has a gun.

So people are reacting rationally.
