I am ambivalent about Hitchins. He was a loud and obnoxious atheist. But the next time you are told you are a homophobe, a bigot, a sexist, a racist or any one of a seeming endless ways that the Left tries to shout you down, his last line is worth repeating:
"pick a number, get on line and kiss my ass."

Even though I disagreed with him on many points, I loved Hitchens (not in an English public school way mind you) because of clips like this. He loved argument and making a point. And he is absolutely right that the only answer to free speech is more free speech. Argue your point and be damn prepared to defend it. There are no assumptions. No easy pat answers.
