Meanwhile in Media Civility Land

Donald Kaul, a columnist for the Des Moines Register, calls for lynching the two leading Republican in congress, repealing the second amendment, and declaring the NRA a terrorist organization.

James Taranto:
He continues, referring again to the National Rifle Association: "I would also raze the organization's headquarters, clear the rubble and salt the earth, but that's optional." The 2011 civility scolds got exercised over metaphors (Sarah Palin's map) and figures of speech (Michele Bachmann's saying she wanted supporters to be "armed," with information). By any standard but a purely partisan one, Kaul's violent fantasies and "jokes" are far worse.

I once thought that Liberals out of power were crazed, but essentially harmless when they were advocating the assassination of George Bush, for example. Now I am worried that with political power they are not toning the rhetoric down, but turning it up, sounding more and more like little Hitlers after becoming chancellor.
