Ohio State Law and the Mob

It turns out that if you're threatened and you’re a Republican at Ohio State Law the faculty doesn’t close down the campus and set up re-education camps. That only happens if you are Black, homosexual, “differently-abled,” Muslim, Mexican, Transgendered, Latino, or any one of the ever-expanding identities of "Precious snowflakes" that inhabit academia.

Madison Gesiotto wrote an article published in the Washington Times: The Number One Killer of Black Americans, about the abortion epidemic in the black community. Then the threats began.
The threat arrived on Ms. Gesiotto’s Facebook page as part of a heated back-and-forth shortly after the appearance of her column, which cited figures by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention showing that black women received 36 percent of reported abortions in 2011.

The Facebook message said, “The government cannot take action against you for your offensive and racist article. But your colleagues can."

Concerned for her safety she approached the Dean Alan C. Michaels and was invited in for a “chat.” The meeting turned into a Kafkaesque series of accusations reminiscent of the “Struggle Session” that occurred under Mao in China when dissidents were accused of thought crimes. In fact, one of the Deans even suggested that they facilitate just that.

Ms. Gesiotto declined the opportunity to be brought to trial for writing inconvenient truths.

“I thought that was completely out of line. It should have never been proposed. I was there to report a threat. And then they tried to flip it around and push me into a facilitated discussion with other kids about my article. It was bizarre and very disappointing.”
Keeping in mind that the reason for the meeting was to discuss the issue of a possible physical threat to her safety, this group of Deans confronted Ms. Gesiotto accusing her of writing a “…flawed article, it’s not a good legal piece, it’s not a good journalistic piece.”

Knowing what you get into at the average law school, she was somewhat prepared, but not enough.

Ms. Gesiotto knew that many of her peers at the law school would disagree with the column. She expected to take some flak. What she didn’t expect, she said, was having administrators show less interest in her safety than in tearing apart a column entirely unrelated to her coursework….
And then there’s this.
Ms. Gesiotto was so worried about the threat that she also reported it to the main campus, where she said a counselor suggested that school officials could talk to the person who made the threat but warned that doing so might escalate the situation.
It was a response reminiscent of the bad old days when the Democrat’s “solid South” was run by Good Old Boys. When Blacks went to the Sheriff, terrified after the KKK burned a cross in their yard, the Sheriff would tell them that he could have a talk with some of leaders of the mob, but “Do you really want to get them riled up, maybe come back and burn your place down? Maybe you really ought to think about leavin’ town, boy.”

The Deans and the faculty don’t want to get the SJWs riled up. They know what happened at Mizzou and Yale when faculty and administration were insufficiently subservient to the SWJs. In fact, it’s entirely possible that, under their white sheets and pointy hats, they’re part of the mob that burned the cross.

How The New York Times whitewashes Palestinian terror

NY Post
This week began as the last one ended — with more Palestinian stabbing attacks against Israeli Jews, and more dead. And yet, this information might surprise readers of The New York Times.

On Sunday, a 20-year-old Israeli woman was stabbed to death, another Israeli was rammed by a car and attacked with a knife and a third was assaulted by a knife-wielding teen affiliated with the Islamic Jihad terror group.

All three assailants were killed in the course of their attacks.

But the headline to the Times’ story about Sunday’s attacks did away with cause and effect, muddled victim and aggressor: “1 Israeli, 3 Palestinians Killed in Attacks in West Bank.” The online headline was later changed, but the print headline Monday morning was equally obtuse: “West Bank Faces Spate of Assaults That Kill 4.” The “West Bank” faced nothing. It was Israelis who faced assaults.

This was par for the course — and in some ways, even mild — for how the Times has covered the so-called “stabbing intifada,” the recent spate of Arab-on-Jewish murder.

Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas recently called on his people to protect Jerusalem holy sites from the “filthy feet” of Israeli Jews, and terrorists have heeded the call, taking to the streets to thrust knives into any Israeli they encounter — other recent stabbing victims include an 80-year-old woman and a 13-year-old boy on a bike.

But even this incitement, and even this terror, is no match for the creativity of The New York Times. When a Palestinian assailant was caught on film last month wielding a knife and rushing at Israelis, before quickly being neutralized by Israeli security personnel, Times reporters simply avoided telling readers about the video.

And instead of mentioning this incriminating piece of evidence, they repeatedly cited false Palestinian allegations that Israelis planted the knife next to the “innocent” attacker. Creatively, and unethically, they turned an empirical fact into an unknowable case of police vs. “witness.”

When Israel released a photo of the butterfly knife held by the attacker, the Times’ bureau chief in Jerusalem absurdly called it a “Boy Scout” knife. Again, it was a masterstroke of creativity. Butterfly knives are infamous for being flipped back and forth by ’80s movie villains, and are illegal in several US states and in countries around the world. To confuse a butterfly knife with a Boy Scout knife is to confuse nunchucks with a nun’s ruler.

Similarly, after Palestinians stoned a Jewish car, resulting in the death of the driver, a reporter insisted they weren’t attacking the Israeli but merely pelting “the road he was driving on.” The death, reporters insisted, was an “accident.” Attacking the asphalt? A Boy Scout knife? Such verbal ingenuity might be commendable in creative writing. In journalism, it’s an embarrassment.

Shocker: 2008 Obama supporter thinks democracy doesn’t work!

It never fails. You get some ostensibly well-meaning, but ultimately self-deluding guy (in this case, Bernie Quigley) who in 2008 declares Barack Obama to be the ” New JFK” who shows “organizational and conceptual abilities already that are superior to any candidate in our time.” And, not least because of people like Mr. Quigley, Barack Obama gets elected – and then proceeds to demonstrate an appalling lack of organizational and conceptual abilities, to the point where the Democratic party outside of the executive branch now looks like a minor, regional party that is one bad cycle away from losing the East Coast*. And, oh, yeah: the country’s foreign policy is in worse shape than ever, and things aren’t really improving. One would think that this might suggest to people like Mr. Quigley that maybe, just maybe, he backed the wrong horse in 2008…. HAHAHAHA!

Nah, it just tells him that the country’s ungovernable: “Late in life, the great Amb. George Kennan declared that America needed a “council of elders” to contain the excesses of democracy. The governors, perhaps meeting in a selective and representative regional council, like a board of trustees at a university or a board of directors of a corporation, might offer America saving grace at a time of dangerous crossing.” Because the problem’s not Barack Obama, you see. It’s democracy itself.

Obama is never wrong, it's always the people's fault.

IMPORTING TERRORISM AND OTHER AMERICAN VALUES

Ann Coulter:

Americans keep being hectored to take "refugees" from terrorist-producing countries because to do otherwise would be "a betrayal of our values," as President Obama said on Monday.

The rise of Donald Trump reminds us of the popularity of another, long-forgotten American value: protecting Americans.

Contrary to Obama's laughable reference to "the universal values" that "all of humanity" share, most of the world does not share our values, at all. They barely seem to share our DNA. As indignantly explained by the lawyer representing two Iraqis accused of child rape in Nebraska, America's views about women and children "put us in the minority position in the world."

Pederasty, child brides, honor killings, clitorectomies, stonings, wife beatings -- when will America grow up and join the 21st century? (A lot sooner if Marco Rubio has his way!)

The New York Times boasts about how amazingly painstaking the "vetting" of Syrian refugees will be, but I notice the main point the paper keeps stressing is how long it will take. Twenty-four months!

"Waiting" is not "vetting." What is 24 months to people who can hold a grudge for a thousand years?

As we found out from Michael Steinbach, assistant director of the FBI, in congressional testimony last month, there are no Syrian computer databases for our investigators to use in their famed "vetting" of refugees.

"You're talking about a country that is a failed state, that does not have any infrastructure," he said. "So all of the data sets -- the police, the intel services -- that normally you would go to seek information don't exist."

...

American officials were also warned about the blind sheik, Omar Abdel-Rahman, not only by U.S. consular officials in Egypt -- but by Hosni Mubarak, the president of Egypt himself.

But the Blind Sheik was allowed to go about his business in America, plotting terrorist attacks with other widows and orphans, such as Ramzi Yousef, mastermind of the 1993 World Trade Center bombing -- and American asylee.

Under our immigration policies, being a member of a noted terrorist group qualifies you to come to America; being a talented scientist from Switzerland does not.

Our aggressive refugee vetters couldn't even figure out which Iraqis were helping American troops during the war and which were trying to kill them. During the terrorism prosecution of Iraqi "refugees" Waad Ramadan Alwan and Mohanad Shareef Hammadi, the FBI produced Alwan's fingerprints from IEDs that had been used against American troops in Iraq.

Talk about a fine-toothed comb!

Obama pulled every last American troop out of Iraq, then brought enemy troops to America, as refugees.

Incidentally, every one of these terrorists was a "legal" immigrant. How many World Trade Centers, Boston Marathons and Fort Hoods do we need before Republicans drop the "Illegals, bad; Legals, good" shibboleth?

Progressives can't agree on what Jews are.

What is a Jew?

To hear one part of the Progressive Caucus tell it, Jews are the new Nazis oppressing and murdering the poor, dispossessed Palestinians.

To hear another caucus of Progressives tell it, Muslims are the new Jews and Republicans who want to keep them out of the country are Nazis.  To these Progressives, there is no real difference between Muslims on Jihad, who commit bloody atrocities as they murder their way across the the world and European Jews in the 1930s and '40s.  Wanting to be sure that Jihad does not come to a mall near you is the same as the Holocaust.

I think I see a pattern here.  To Progressives, Jews are multi-purpose props.  The real enemy is anyone who stands in their way.  To Progressives Jews are clay that can be molded into any image, sinister or helpless victim.

Two Paris Terrorists Lived in Supposedly Mythical 'No-Go Zone' Neighborhood in Brussels

Shortly after the Charlie Hebdo Islamic terrorist murders in Paris in January, the establishment press attacked those who dared to state something quite obvious about "no-go zones" in parts of Europe, i.e., that they exist. The media summarily and unilaterally declared that "no-go zones" were a myth propagated by the likes of Fox News, Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, longtime terror expert Steven Emerson, and others — despite several direct references to them in media accounts, including the New York Times, going back as far as 2002.

Well, a not very funny thing has happened during the attempt to hunt down those involved in planning Friday's coordinated terrorist bloodbath in Paris.

You see, there's a certain neighborhood in Brussels, Belgium. It's home to admitted "jihadist networks," which, in the words of a Times tweet following the jump, have been "linked to" the Parisian and other "terror plots." The tweet indicates that this neighborhood has an unusual characteristic which the U.S. media has insisted it cannot possibly have:

Stabbers for Allah

Mark Steyn treats us to a revealing look at a store catering to the adherents of the Religion of Peace.

The photo at right comes from the "Hitler" menswear store in Gaza. I don't know whether Hitler himself is running it. If you know your P G Wodehouse, you'll recall that his Fascist leader, Sir Roderick Spode, ran a ladies' lingerie boutique on the side. So it's entirely possible that the Führer has been running a men's clothing chain in Gaza since the bottom dropped out of the dictating business.
At any rate, you 'll see that the mannequins are not just stylishly dressed but appealingly accoutred with sharp knives. Because when you go Jew-killing, you want both to look sharp and stab sharp.

Holy shit: Ben Carson lied right in his literary bio!

Struggle Sessions

From FIRE: Foundation for Individual Rights in Education

Tensions at Yale University hit a boiling point yesterday after an email about Halloween costumes created a week-long controversy on campus.

Students called for the resignation of Associate Master of Silliman College Erika Christakis after she responded to an email from the school’s Intercultural Affairs Council asking students to be thoughtful about the cultural implications of their Halloween costumes. According to The Washington Post, students are also calling for the resignation of her husband, Master of Silliman College, Nicholas Christakis, who defended her statement.

FIRE President and CEO Greg Lukianoff recorded video of students confronting Nicholas Christakis yesterday in the courtyard of the Silliman College dormitory complex at Yale. Lukianoff was on Yale’s campus to speak at a conference on issues related to free speech in higher education.

[Note the synchronized finger snapping - an indication that this is a specific group - a la "Occupy Wall Street" surrounding the professor being "struggled"]

Lots of people on the Right call them “Hothouse Flowers” and “Precious Snowflakes.” That a possibility, but I view them differently.   It's assumed that they are what they claim, emotionally fragile children who need protection from the world around them.

HERE is what they are protesting: a memo about allowing people to wear what they want for Halloween.

Flowers and snowflakes don’t surround a professor at a university and demand an apology for standing up for free expression. They don’t demand his firing. These are not people who are so fragile emotionally that they curl up in a ball because of a word that “triggers” deep seated fears.

These are tough cadres.

They are America's Mao Youth.

They have absorbed an ideology that allows them to give vent to their emotions and ideology.  They can ban conservatives from speaking on campus.  They can destroy newspapers that print ideas with which they disagree.  They can accuse an innocent man of rapedestroy his life and think it's a good thing.  Theirs is an ideology that is quite often blatantly racist, sexist and definitely hostile to their class and ideological enemies.

We appear to have forgotten the Mao era.  He first proposed “let a hundred flowers bloom.” After enough people believed that it gave them the right to speak out and expose themselves, the hammer fell. Mao’s cadres, often students, participated in “Struggle Sessions” in which the victim was required to admit to his or her "crimes."

From Wikipedia
A struggle session was a form of public humiliation and torture used by the Communist Party of China in the Mao Zedong era to shape public opinion and to humiliate, persecute, or execute political rivals and class enemies. In general, the victim of a struggle session was forced to admit to various crimes before a crowd of people who would verbally and physically abuse the victim until he or she confessed. Struggle sessions were often held at the workplace of the accused, but were sometimes conducted in sports stadiums where large crowds would gather if the target was famous enough

A Struggle Session:
You Xiaoli was standing, precariously balanced, on a stool. Her body was bent over from the waist into a right angle, and her arms, elbows stiff and straight, were behind her back, one hand grasping the other at the wrist. It was the position known as "doing the airplane." Around her neck was a heavy chain, and attached to the chain was a blackboard, a real blackboard, one that had been removed from a classroom at the university where You Xiaoli, for more than ten years, had served as a full professor. On both sides of the blackboard were chalked her name and the myriad crimes she was alleged to have committed....

The scene was taking place at the university, too, in a sports field at one of China's most prestigious institutions of higher learning. In the audience were You Xiaoli's students and colleagues and former friends. Workers from local factories and peasants from nearby communes had been bused in for the spectacle. From the audience came repeated, rhythmic chants.... "Down with You Xiaoli! Down with You Xiaoli!"
You can almost hear the finger snap, snap, snapping.

We don’t live in a communist dictatorship although college campuses house quite a few of Mao's admirers. But the methods are eerily familiar. People who have committed though crime are not required to “do the airplane” on a college campus .... yet. Instead, they must apologize for speaking banned thoughts, and then they must be fired.

We have imported communist-lite Struggle Sessions to Yale and other American campuses.  They are not brought to you by Hothouse Flowers or Precious Snowflakes but by America's Mao Youth.

Democrat Socialists

Democrat Socialists: "If there is a dysfunctional, stupid, expensive, ineffective way to do something, they are all over that!"

MO-TIVATION UNKNOWN

The man who went on a stabbing rampage Wednesday at the University of California, Merced, praised Allah in a two-page manifesto recovered from his body, the Merced County Sheriff said Thursday …

[Sheriff Verne Warnke] told a crowd of reporters Thursday “there is nothing to indicate this was anything other than a teenage boy who got upset with fellow classmates.”

Asked if the manifesto made any references to Allah, Warnke said there were, but dismissed any suggestion that Mohammad was motivated by religion.

From the comments:

Reports of these incidents follow the same old tiresome pattern. It’d be more interesting if, when there actually is nothing to do with Islam, a reporter asked about it.

Could this be a likely scenario?

Reporter: Is this one of those nothing-to-do-with-Islam attacks?

Police spokesperson: No, not at all. It has nothing to do with Islam.

Reporter: Can I quote you on that? That it has nothing to do with Islam?

Police spokesperson: No, absolutely not, because it has nothing to do with Islam.

Reporter: Sorry, I’m confused. If you won’t say it has nothing to do with Islam, are you suggesting it could have something to do with Islam?

Police spokesperson: No, I’m not, because it has nothing to do with Islam.

Reporter: OK, so then it is a nothing-to-do-with-Islam attack.

Police spokesperson: No, you cannot say that! It has nothing to do with Islam!

Reporter: Riiight.

9-Year-Old Boy Executed in Chicago — Police Chief Says the Details Make It the ‘Most Abhorrent, Cowardly, Unfathomable Crime’ He’s Ever Witnessed

Don't expect the MSM to care about this.  It definitely does not fit the narrative.  Black lives matter?  Not so much if it isn't inter-racial violence.

CHICAGO (AP) — A 9-year-old Chicago boy who was fatally shot this week was “lured” from a park into an alley and executed because of his father’s alleged gang connections, police Superintendent Garry McCarthy said Thursday in a crime he described as among the most “unfathomable” of his 35 years in policing.

Tyshawn Lee, an elementary school student headed to his grandmother’s house, was shot in the head and back Monday in a neighborhood alley on the city’s South Side.

McCarthy told reporters Thursday that the slaying was the result of two gangs fighting, potentially in a string of retaliatory events dating back months. He said the boy’s father isn’t cooperating with police

Anti-cop violence spreads as illegal immigrant gang member slugs deputy sitting in car

An illegal immigrant MS-13 gang member the Obama administration had released on bond committed an unprovoked attack on a sheriff’s deputy, slugging the deputy as he worked on a traffic report while sitting in his car, the Frederick County, Md., sheriff’s department said Friday.

Jose Misael Reyes-Reyes, 18, had been arrested in May on weapons charges and in June on charges of malicious destruction of property, but federal immigration authorities had left him free on bond while he awaited a deportation hearing, the sheriff’s office said.

Given his age, Mr. Reyes-Reyes was potentially part of the recent surge of illegal immigrant children that overwhelmed the Border Patrol over the last few years, and who have now been shipped to communities across the country.

Mr. Reyes-Reyes came upon Deputy First Class Greg Morton Thursday morning as the deputy was in his marked police vehicle finishing up an accident report. The sheriff’s office said Mr. Reyes-Reyes began banging on a back window of the vehicle, and when Deputy Morton turned to look the man reached through the half-open window and slugged the deputy in the face.

Even after Deputy Morton got Mr. Reyes-Reyes under control and handcuffed him, but man tried to escape, kicking the deputy again, the sheriff’s office said.

Mr. Reyes-Reyes is “a validated MS-13 gang member,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement. MS-13, or Mara Salvatrucha-13, is an international gang started by Salvadorans in Los Angeles in the 1980s. It expanded operations to Central America after many of its leaders were deported, and has since spread across the U.S., including a particular presence in Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C., which has been the destination for many Central American immigrants.

It’s unclear why Mr. Reyes-Reyes was out on bond, given the priority Homeland Security officials say they place on going after illegal immigrant gang members.

I suspect that the level of violence will increase. As with all things in the Age of Obama, I wonder if it's the result of stupidity or part of a plan.

Campus stabber's manifesto included 'praise for Allah,' plan for beheading

Fundamentally transforming the middle aged white male

FUNDAMENTALLY TRANSFORMED: The Atlantic: Middle-Aged White Americans Are Dying of Despair. “Nearly half of Americans in their 40s and 50s don’t have enough money saved for retirement to live as they’re accustomed to, even if they work until they’re 65. All of this is crashing down on Boomers, who were raised on the promise of the American Dream.”

The Danish Model – don’t try this at home

Interesting essay.

So, Denmark first became rich, and then introduced the programs, which make up the welfare state. The huge increase in government spending has been accompanied by deep structural problems, which has made it necessary to reform the Danish economy and welfare state ever since. It can hardly be claimed that introducing the welfare state made Denmark rich; rather it was the other way around. Denmark first became rich, and then authorities began to redistribute some of the wealth. ...

In many respects, Denmark could serve as a model for the World (just like most other countries). But if you fail to learn the right lessons, it could be dangerous to try to imitate our model. Especially the idea that you can become rich by redistributing wealth or that there is a gentler way to socialism than the one experienced by typical socialist countries in general could get you into trouble.

And it would certainly be ironic, if the Danish case were to become an excuse for politicians in e.g. Greece or the US to avoid economic reforms, and fiscal consolidation, since we have been reforming and consolidating for decades to handle the problems created by the introduction of the welfare state.

It seems to be the path that the US is following.

“As a woman and an equalist (NOT a feminist), Emma’s behavior and actions are a parody of all the worst parts of radical or “Tumblr” feminists—I am ashamed to even belong to the same species as her.”

As someone who has fervently followed the “mattress girl” case at Columbia, I have read almost every article on Emma’s case, watched her porn video that supposedly re-enacts her “rape”, and watched her video detailing her “art” project “Carry that Weight”—but most importantly, I have followed Paul’s side closely. Not only was Emma’s false accusation abhorrent and did she inflict physical and emotional trauma on Paul, but her response to the widespread media attention is the most immature and attention-seeking action she could’ve possibly taken. She claims repeatedly in interviews that she is deeply traumatized and triggered by things that remind her of her “rape”, but if this were true, why would she carry around a mattress every single day that reminds her of what she claims happened? Furthermore, why would she produce a porno of her “rape” that would’ve forced her to relive all of those emotions once again? There’s an extremely valid and rational explanation for why Columbia University found Mr. Nungesser not responsible and the NYPD did not find Mr. Nungesser guilty—because he did NOT rape her. There’s an extremely valid and rational explanation for why so much of the public remains skeptical of her alleged “rape” and the president of Columbia wouldn’t even shake her hand at graduation—because her campaign against sexual assault is in reality a form of self-victimization.

Faisal Mohammad stabbed four people in The University of California Merced campus

Another one of those Lone Wolf attacks that has absolutely nothing to do with Islam.

A reclusive student shot dead by police after stabbing four people in a California university campus attack ‘had far greater intentions to do damage’, Merced County Sheriff said Wednesday.

Faisal Mohammad, a freshman who majored in computer science and engineering at the University of California was carrying highly flammable petroleum jelly, ziptie handcuffs, night vision goggles, duct tape and a hammer in his backpack when he was shot in the back by cops.

In reference to the petroleum jelly, Sheriff Vern Warnke said: 'He had poor man's C4' - C4 being the dense, putty-like explosive used widely by the military and demolition teams.

Moments before he had 'smiled' as he used a 10-inch hunting knife to stab two students, a campus construction worker and a female teacher in a terrifying attack that was praised by an Isis-linked Twitter account.

However police have insisted his attacked were based on 'personal animosities' and a 'vendetta', not a political agenda.

And they know that because ...
The attack drew praise Thursday from a Twitter account associated with the Islamic State, Fox News reported.
'May Allah accept him,' read the tweet in Arabic just minutes after Mohammad's name was divulged by campus authorities.

UC Merced Chancellor Dorthy Leland said: 'At this point, it would be irresponsible to draw such conclusions based solely on the ethnicity of the suspect
.... the impeccably multicultural college administration moved to rule out a political motive on Wednesday.
UC Merced Chancellor Dorthy Leland said: 'At this point, it would be irresponsible to draw such conclusions based solely on the ethnicity of the suspect.
'At this point in time, the preliminary evidence suggests that freshman computer science and engineering student Faisal Mohammad of Santa Clara appears to have been motivated by personal animosities, not a political agenda.'

So he had personal animosities against four random students, a teacher and a construction worker.  I believe that ... I'll believe anything.

The Truth About Viktor Orbán and Hungary

Viktor Orban, who has been outspoken in his opposition to the open border policies of neighboring European countries, did not hold back during his latest speech.

“Ladies and gentlemen, what we face is nothing less than the challenge of finding ourselves at the gateway to the implementation of a deliberate conceptual project, which could be described as left-wing and which seeks to marginalise the nation states of Europe,” Orban stated.

Paradise in in Nevada, Right Next to Las Vegas

About that Scandinavian Paradise - Just In Case You Were Not Aware What That Means

As Milton Friedman said regarding poverty in Scandinavia, "Thats interesting, because in America, among Scandinavians, we have no poverty, either."

And there's this comment:

I live in the UK but have many Scandanavian friends (and a Swedish brother-in-law - who lives in the USA). The people might have relatively large amounts of money, but when a 20-year-old car costs over $6000 and a beer over $10.

As for happy - no. Not really. It is of course a self-reported metric, so people who are more content, perhaps because they have that lack of initiative needed or shown, might report they are happy. However comparing the Danes I have known (having worked closely or shared a flat with maybe 7 or 8) are certainly not happy. Neither are the Norwegians and certainly not the Swedes I've known. The Finns perhaps, and Icelandics.

Overall the main impression I have is that while the Norwegians think the Danes are nuts and dislike Swedes, the Danes think Norwegians are nuts and dislike Swedes and they all think the Finns are nuts they are, in fact, all nuts except the Swedes who are odd.

Atheists don't understand why Christ came.

A recent exchange on The Other McCain is worth repeating.

Deuteronomy 25:11-12.

Yeah, real beautiful book you've got there, pal.

My name's not "pal", but you can call me ma'am.

Furthermore, every time you or one of your equally foolish ilk quotes any part of the Mosaic or Levitical law to make a point, you only expose your ignorance.

For openers, you are not able to understand what is written in the Bible, so stop trying to use it to support your false interpretation. You only embarrass yourself when you do. And since you love Scripture so much, this here explains why: http://biblehub.com/1_corinthi...

Now, because I'm nice, I'm going to explain this to you just once.

When Jesus was here the first time, He fulfilled the Law.

And, there are three elements to the Mosaic (and Levitical) Laws, from which you are quoting: ritual, moral and legal. The ritual laws have been set aside. True Christians are themselves temples and priests, so those laws are no longer needed. The legal aspect, and punishment, have been given over to the nations. What remains are the moral precepts. All of this is confirmed in the New Testament, which you guys never seem to quote, I notice.

So that sexual immorality is an abomination to the Lord, and is morally repugnant, but the only punishment for it that applies in this life, are those punishments dictated by your state or nation. Dietary restrictions fall under ritual law and no longer apply. Etc.

Incidentally, God gave the Mosaic Laws specifically because they could not be followed. I understand why He did that, but you literally cannot understand. Because you don't know God.

So, now, QED. You don't know what you're talking about, and you ought to therefore shut up about things you know nothing about.

Unexpectedly?

You knew it had to come: "global warming will ruin your sex life" sounds exactly like the kind of slogan that the global warming choir would sing.

Too Darned Hot by Bud Norman discusses the latest ditty from the Global Warming Climate Change songbook. Still, we wonder why the birth rate in countries where the temperature rarely gets below 100 degrees is so high.

...we notice that even in the most war-torn and un-air-conditioned hellholes of the Middle East the birthrates remain high enough to have lately posed a problem for all those northern Europeans who are somehow reproducing at lower than replacement levels.

The View From The Rebellion

Daniel Henninger’s hymn to Paul Ryan and The Party of Governing in Monday’s Wall Street Journal is a great example of the power of the establishment. What’s interesting about the increasingly desperate attempts by the Ruling Class to clear away the pitchfork carrying insurgents is that they really don’t understand why they’re out there in the first place.

The Republican electorate is a cauldron of anger, principle, desperation and personal agendas. No one understands exactly what is going on inside the base, and that now includes Donald Trump, the great disrupter, who this week said he was mystified by Ben Carson’s rising appeal.

I would think that the first thing people would do if they are faced with an internal rebellion is to try to understand why. I can only conclude that they really don’t have a pipeline to the people in rebellion and have concluded that they are gripped by a form of insanity.

To help them out, here’s the view from the rebellion:

The Republicans went into the 2008 election by nominating the eminently electable and beloved-by-the-media, Maverick John McCain, war hero and the next guy in line. For some reason they lost the Presidency and both houses of congress.  They blamed George Bush. Scared stiff of being called racists they rolled over for Mr. Obama bleating that they could not do anything because the country loved Obama, they were out of power and he had impeccably creased pants.

Preparing for the 2010 mid-terms they promised their constituent that if they could capture the House they could stop Obama by wielding the power of the purse. Still terrified of being branded racists they did not such thing – Lucy pulled the football and all the voters who went to the polls – the gullible Charlie Browns - landed on their asses.

So the Republican Party of Governing went to their stable of eminently electable candidates and produced Mitt Romney; Mr. Clean. Mitt was a great guy, handsome, "severely conservative," wonderful family man, successful business man and ended up losing to the man who presided over a moribund economy with high unemployment. Why? Because while the Chamber of Commerce loved him, there were not enough Chamber members. Mitt wasn’t talking to the working man in the working man’s language. He captured the all-important “moderate” vote that Republicans thought was their ticket to the White House. But for some reason the working man who was losing his job and his home to foreclosure wasn’t on the Republican’s radar and didn’t show up by the millions when it came time to vote. The Republican establishment takes its core constituency for granted even more than the Democrats do theirs.

Then the Republicans went to back to the voters and blamed all the bad things that were happening on Harry Reid. They told them that if we can only get rid of Harry Reid and capture the Senate was well as the House, then you’ll see us come roaring back.  We'll repeal ObamaCare, stop illegal immigration and stop wasteful spending. We’ll have the power of the purse plus that bad old Reid won’t be able to kick us around anymore. So once more the Charlie Browns ran to kick the football voters went to the polls and once again they landed on their asses.

So now the refrain – you’ve heard it here again – Congress is not enough. “if only we had the Presidency, you’ll see this time will be different. Trust us.” Oh, and we have to make sure that bad old Hillary doesn’t win the election because that would be a disaster.

So the Republican Party of Governing teed up Jeb! Jeb with all the power brokers backing him, with gazillions in donations, with the Chamber of Commerce supporting him, the magic of his family name, his sterling reputation as governor. And along comes a billionaire developer and TV personality, with funny hair, making over-the-top comments who kicks the pins out from under him and relegates him to also-ran status. The Republican Party of Governing still hasn’t figured out what hit them. They never listen to Trump except to ridicule him. They don’t realize he’s a great communicator who connects with people despite the fact that he brags about his wealth, his planes, his buildings, even his wives.  Despite his billions, his constituency are the kind of people who the Republican Establishment disdains.  Republicans don't talk their language.  They really don't understand their interests, their fears and their problems.  If the truth be told, they're really ashamed of them because they're not "cool."

Now realizing that Jeb! is not catching on, they’re desperately trying to get him out of the race so they can go to their next pinch hitter, Marco Rubio. Good looking, silver tongued, great rags to riches story and sure to enact all the programs that the Republican Party of Governing has on their wish list.

They’ve modified their story-line a little. The Party of Governing is telling Good Old Charlie Brown that their earlier mistakes had nothing to do with their fear of Obama, their fear of the media and the fact that they were really not that unhappy with bloated government. The problem, they said, was that they has promised more than they could deliver. So, give us the Presidency Charlie Brown and this time – for sure – we’ll let you kick the football.

Stay tuned to see if Charlie will buy the lie again.

Immigration, Extremism, and Existentialism

Life in the tiny town of Sumte, Germany, is about to become very different. The 105 residents of the remote and previously unheard-of Lower Saxony village will soon be joined by 500 of the millions of migrants who are heading to Europe from the Middle East, with another 250 scheduled to arrive soon after, so it is reasonable to expect that some significant changes are inevitable. The rest of the western world won’t be out-numbered seven-to-one within its own borders quite as soon, but it would still do well to consider the fate of Sumte.

It’s tough enough for a town of 105 people to suddenly accommodate another 750 or so in the best of circumstances, especially when it has no shops or schools or police stations and a limited amount of sewers and roads and other infrastructure, and such an influx of newcomers who do not speak German and practice a consequentially different religion and derive from countries with a culturally enforced hostility toward western values is by no means the best of circumstances. The German government, which one might well have thought had been created to protect they German way of life for its citizens, has reportedly told the people of Sumte that the only responses to the resettlement plans are “yes and yes,” and the rest of the western world suddenly seems faced with the same grim options. The people don’t much like it, in Sumte or pretty much anywhere else in the western world, but their supposedly democratic governments don’t seem to care. Throughout most of Europe’s officialdom, and among at least half of America’s political parties, and even among the American press that brought us the sad story of Sumte, the bigger worry seems to be that extremist nationalist parties might benefit from the inevitable discontent. ....
.....

For the moment America’s immigration problems are less threatening, as most of the country’s unprecedented number of new arrivals don’t speak English but at least practice a religion that is less consequentially different than the American norm, or they don’t practice any religion at all, which is becoming the American norm, and they’re not so hostile to most western values, even if they derive from countries with a culturally enforced hostility to capitalism, but the issue is still thorny even here, and the Middle Eastern influx is becoming even thornier. Already the issue has provided a platform for the likes of Donald Trump, and anyone hoping to shame him out of the race should hope that a more respectable candidate will emerge to represent the overwhelming public opinion in favor of retaining something more or less like the cultural status quo.

What better way of "fundamentally changing" a country than to fundamentally change its people.  It seems that this is one promise that Barack Obama meant to keep.

$20 trillion man: National debt nearly doubles during Obama presidency

When Mr. Obama took over in January 2009, the total national debt stood at $10.6 trillion. That means the debt will have very nearly doubled during his eight years in office, and there is much more debt ahead with the abandonment of “sequestration” spending caps enacted in 2011.

TOM TANCREDO: I’M QUITTING GOP

This decision has been incubating over the past 17 years, years of watching the downward spiral of the Party of Lincoln and Reagan into the Party of Democrat Lite.

As a Member of Congress for ten years (1998-2008), I was subjected to threats and pressures from the Congressional Leadership and President George W. Bush to support the creation of an expensive Medicare prescription drug program–even though creating a new government spending program financed by massive debt flies in the face of the Republican Party’s core principles.

Our most powerful and influential “leaders” were shoving this down our throats in a crass political effort to use taxpayer money to buy the votes of senior citizens–particularly in the state of Florida in the next presidential election.

I was incredulous about the fact that the most intense lobbying I had ever seen undertaken by our “leadership” was not an effort to limit government or the dollars it spends; it was to do just the opposite.

That incident came just months after I was told by President Bush’s top political operative, Karl Rove, “never to darken the door of the White House again” because of my criticism of the administration’s dangerously lax immigration policies in the wake of the September 11 terrorist attacks.

When I first arrived in the U.S. House of Representatives, I naively believed that it was primarily the Democrats who were committed to open borders. But I quickly learned the entire Republican establishment also supported a policy of immigration non-enforcement.

I was repeatedly pulled into the office of the then-Majority Leader, Tom DeLay, and threatened with dire consequences if I continued to speak out publicly for common-sense immigration policies and true border security – particularly if I was doing so in the districts of other Republican Members of Congress.

For most of those years after 2000, we had a Republican President and a Republican-controlled Congress, but the conservative agenda was largely ridiculed and abandoned.

Across America, in every state, countless hardworking Americans have taken time away from their families and their jobs to volunteer on political campaigns– knocking on doors, making phone calls and talking to neighbors – all to support the effort to beat back the Obama agenda. In 2010, that grassroots effort resulted in the Republican takeover in the House. In 2014, it resulted in Republicans sweeping to power in the U.S. Senate – and the largest House majority since Herbert Hoover was President.

Yet, despite these historic gains, nothing changed. The GOP neither advanced a conservative agenda nor checked the radical “transformative” agenda of Barack Obama. We got condescending lip service, and nothing more.

Read the whole thing.
