Virginian Pilot Stokes the Fires of Hate

The Virginian Pilot today devoted much of its (dead tree) editorial pages to stoking hatred for Conservatives. The despicable Paul Krugman who uses his NY Times column to smear conservatives on a regular basis is a Pilot fave. Today in his column “The Big Hate” he uses a blood libel against conservatives by tying the notorious anti-Semite von Brunn to the conservative side of the political spectrum. A more accurate characterization of von Brunn is found in my headline: Atheist Left Wing Journalism Major Kills Guard at Holocaust Museum

Von Brunn hated Jews, Christians, capitalism, Bush, McCain and Rupert Murdoch. Pretty much the same people that the Virginian Pilot editorial staff hates. In his Jew hatred, it seems that he had it in his mind to also target the “neo-cons” at the Weekly Standard – that “notorious” Conservative publication edited by Bill Kristol a leading “neo-can” regularly demonized by the haters at the NY Times like Krugman for whom “neo-con” is a swear word. In Krugman’s dictionary you will find Kristol’s picture next “warmongering neo-con” a favorite theme of Krugman, the NY Times and it’s echo chamber at the Virginian Pilot.

If anything, the viewpoint that is most like von Brunn’s views of Jews, neo-cons, Christians, capitalism or any of his other pet hates, are echoed by people like Krugman who mainstream hate of these very groups.

To make sure that little Donnie Luzzatto’s victims are smeared, for that part of the Pilot’s subscriber base that can’t read but does look at pictures, he published this hate cartoon by Toles.

Nice job of fanning the flames of hate, Donnie.

Pravda was a beacon of journalistic truth and technical prowess compared with the Virginian Pilot

UPDATE: Re: Taking Time Out to Hate

Jonathan, I share your take on Krugman’s selectivity. But let’s be clear: ranting about Jewish control of the U.S. has been largely the role of the Left as of late. It doesn’t make good New York Times copy to point out that the carping about the Jewish Lobby comes from Harvard professors and Leftwing bloggers. It wasn’t Rush Limbaugh or Fox commentators who said during the campaign that John McCain “surrounded himself with, and [was] funded by Jewish neoconservatives”; such rhetoric came from “respectable” Left and Center-Left publications. Do I think those people are responsible for the Holocaust Museum shooting? No. But the heart of this issue is whether there are those who slowly, bit by bit, make anti-Semitism more acceptable and, therefore, more popular. On that score, the answer is sadly yes.

This is what the above was a reply to ... Taking Time Out to Hate
But the most egregious aspect of Krugman’s sham case for blaming the political Right for extremist violence is the fact that he and other liberals ignore the third case of political violence that recently occurred in this country: the shooting of two U.S. soldiers in Arkansas by Abdulhakim Muhahid Muhammad — a Muslim extremist who claimed to be taking “revenge” for America’s “crimes” against Muslims. That incident has received paltry coverage by the mainstream media in contrast to the all-out approach to both Tiller’s murder and to the Holocaust Museum shooting. Krugman and company prefer to ignore it because it doesn’t fit into their ideological box, in which everyone who loudly disagrees with Obama or the left can, in some way, be linked to extremist nut jobs.

To leftists like Krugman, the real story of Muslim-inspired terrorism in this country is one that needs to be played down since it reminds everyone about George Bush’s now abandoned “war on terror.” In fact, the Arkansas incident was hardly the only instance of Islamist terror in this country in the last year. Muhammad’s murderous attack fits into a pattern alongside the foiled plots against the soldiers of Fort Dix, New Jersey and synagogues in Riverdale, New York. Anyone who dares to point this out is falsely accused of fomenting hatred against Muslims when, in fact, the real problem is the flood of anti-Semitic and anti-Western propaganda emanating from Arab and Islamic sources.

Everyone who disagrees with Israel or opposed the war in Iraq ought not to be blamed for anti-American terror, even if they have sometimes spoken in a vulgar or extreme fashion. By the same token, the only rationale for trying to tie right-wing talkers to von Brunn is politics pure and simple. Far right extremism is dangerous but it has as much to do with Limbaugh and Beck as Al Qaeda does with Krugman. The attempt to politicize the Holocaust Museum shooting or even the Tiller murder is shameful. So is the refusal of the media to recognize the even more dangerous threat of Islamist terror.

Indeed, the Virginian Pilot refused to condemn the attack until shamed into it by ... me.

DAVID LETTERMAN'S HATE, ETC. !

David Letterman's hate is as old as some ancient Hebrew prophets.
Speaking of anti-Semitism, it's Jerry Falwell and other fundy leaders who've gleefully predicted that in the future EVERY nation will be against Israel (an international first?) and that TWO-THIRDS of all Jews will be killed, right?
Wrong! It's the ancient Hebrew prophet Zechariah who predicted all this in the 13th and 14th chapters of his book! The last prophet, Malachi, explains the reason for this future Holocaust that'll outdo even Hitler's by stating that "Judah hath dealt treacherously" and "the Lord will cut off the man that doeth this" and asks "Why do we deal treacherously every man against his brother?"
Haven't evangelicals generally been the best friends of Israel and persons perceived to be Jewish? Then please explain the recent filthy, hate-filled, back-stabbing tirades by David Letterman (and Sandra Bernhard and Kathy Griffin) against a leading evangelical named Sarah Palin, and explain why most Jewish leaders have seemingly condoned Palin's continuing "crucifixion"!
While David, Sandra, and Kathy are tragically turning comedy into tragedy, they are also helping to speed up and fulfill the Final Holocaust a la Zechariah and Malachi, thus helping to make the Bible even more believable!
