Rush was right ... again

The '80s are calling and want their foreign policy back.

Bud Norman recalls that famous line from the Romney Obama debates

The same Greece that was once the Cradle of Democracy is about to go bust, American troops are moving into eastern Europe as if the ’80s were calling and they wanted their foreign policy back, and the Republicans seem intent on entrusting President Barack Obama with the power to negotiate a top-secret trade deal with Asia that will allow all sorts of environmental and immigration shenanigans

Transforming America - an update

Obama said he would fundamentally transform America, and he as.

So far as we can determine this is the first time in the history of the republic that any president has ever been heckled by a transgendered illegal immigrant,...

We’re not at all sure how Washington or Lincoln or Coolidge or either of the Roosevelts or any of the rest of those other archaic old white guys would have handled the situation, as it apparently never came up during their terms, but Obama responded with what strikes us as a very generous indulgence. He was addressing an “LGBT Pride” conference, the acronym referring to lesbian and gay and bisexual and transgendered persons, when a person identified as Jennicet Guttierrez started loudly shouting a demand to “release ‘LGBTQ’ immigrants from detention and stop all deportations.” The added “Q” stands for “questioning,” as we understand it, although we can’t pretend to understand what “questioning” means, except for a vague sense that it’s suppose to include those who can’t quite say what they’d wind up doing if they were stranded on a desert island or given a lengthy prison sentence or found themselves in some other unusual sexual circumstance. At any rate, Obama politely implored the heckler to restrain himself or herself, whichever the case may be, and quite reasonably asserted that such behavior was impolite for an invited guest to the East Room of the White House, which he presumptively referred to as “my house.” When the heckler persisted in his or her heckling, Obama at last had his sizable security contingent remove him or her from the premises, although so far as we can glean from the press reports Obama did not have him or her removed from the country, as the law would require.

CNN's Ashley Banfield: bring down the Jefferson Memorial?

CNN's Don Lemon on Tuesday hinted that there will come a day when the United States will have to "rethink" tributes such as the Jefferson Memorial. After a contentious segment with Ben Jones, in which the former Congressman defended the Confederate flag, Legal View host Ashley Banfield brought up the author of the Declaration of Independence.

She reminded, "There is a monument of him in the capital city of the United States. No one ever asked for that to come down." At first, Lemon asserted that the comparison was not "equal" and that Jefferson "was a part of the entire United States." He then added, "There may come a day when we may want to rethink Jefferson, I don't if we should do that. But when we get to that point, I'll be happy to partake in that particular discussion."

A DRUDGE update

Time to remove Jefferson memorial too?

Valerie Jarrett's communist family

Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) files obtained by Judicial Watch reveal that the dad, maternal grandpa and father-in-law of President Obama’s trusted senior advisor, Valerie Jarrett, were hardcore Communists under investigation by the U.S. government.

Jarrett’s dad, pathologist and geneticist Dr. James Bowman, had extensive ties to Communist associations and individuals, his lengthy FBI file shows. In 1950 Bowman was in communication with a paid Soviet agent named Alfred Stern, who fled to Prague after getting charged with espionage. Bowman was also a member of a Communist-sympathizing group called the Association of Internes and Medical Students. After his discharge from the Army Medical Corps in 1955, Bowman moved to Iran to work, the FBI records show.

Bud Norman on the conversation on race that the Left doesn't want.

The unavoidable implication is that the Republican Party, the party that was founded on its opposition to slavery and led the defeat of the Confederacy and provided the most votes for that civil rights legislation, is as irredeemably racist at the nutcase who killed those nine worshippers. There are more substantive arguments to be made for this assertion, given the current Republican party’s opposition to affirmative action and longstanding resistance to social programs and usual support for aggressive law enforcement, but it’s no wonder that much of the media would prefer to seize the opportunity of a flag that the Republicans had nothing to do with. Affirmative action assumes blacks can’t compete on meritocratic terms with whites, and most Republicans do not, the past half-century of social programs have caused two-parent black families to become a rarity, and only Republicans seem willing to acknowledge this fact much less talk about solutions to its dire social and economic consequences, a retreat from aggressive law enforcement has resulted in far more murders than any deranged white racist could ever effect, and only Republicans seem to believe that these black lives also matter. That constant conversation about race that the Democrats are always urging but never participating in will continue long after the Confederate battle flag has been permanently lowered from the South Carolina capitol grounds, mostly because of a fashionably diverse coalition of Republicans from that much-criticized state, which has been handling its racial controversies with greater calm and careful deliberation and Christian love than has followed similarly contentious incidents in states generally considered more enlightened, and we can readily understand why those harping on about the defeated and disgraced battle flag of a long-gone Democratic cause would prefer not to talk about the rest of it.

The "neutral" press gushes over Hillary's "courage."

Read the whole thing (excerpt)

Reporters often loathe being accused of crafting or husbanding a “narrative.” For obvious reasons, they would prefer to think of themselves as neutral arbiters of facts and stewards of balance. But the disbelief one is required to suspend to maintain that fiction while reading Washington Post reporters Phillip Rucker and Anne Gearen’s latest dispatch is too much to suffer. Their latest, “While GOP candidates stammer, Clinton directly confronts race,” is not inaccurate so much as it is a transparent hagiography of the prohibitive Democratic presidential nominee. Her accomplishment? Nobly committing to endure the absolute minimum level of discomfort expected of a presidential candidate.

In assessing the political impact of the aftermath of the atrocity in Charleston, South Carolina perpetrated by an anachronistic racist terrorist, Rucker and Gearen make no pretense of their cause: They came to praise Clinton and to bury those Republicans vying to challenge her next year.

The Scientific Pantheist Who Advises Pope Francis

St. Francis of Assisi’s hymn Laudato Si’ spoke of “Brothers” Sun and Fire and “Sisters” Moon and Water, using these colorful phrases figuratively, as a way of praising God’s creation. These sentimental words so touched Pope Francis that he named his encyclical after this canticle (repeated in paragraph 87 of the Holy Father’s letter).

Neither Pope Francis nor St. Francis took the words literally, of course. Neither believed that fire was alive and could be talked to or reasoned with or, worse, worshiped. Strange, then, that a self-professed atheist and scientific advisor to the Vatican named Hans Schellnhuber appears to believe in a Mother Earth.

Confirmation bias happens when a scientist manipulates an experiment so that he gets the outcome he hoped he would get. When Schellnhuber invites only believers in tipping-points-of-doom to characterize their guesses of this doom, his view that the doom is real will be confirmed. And when he publishes a paper that says, “Scientists say world is doomed” the public and politicians believe it. Scientists skeptical of the doom are dismissed because they are skeptics. This isn’t good science. It’s really bad religion, and a pagan one at that.

Global warming research is characterized by an insider’s club. If you believe, you’re in. If you doubt, you’re out. This is also so at the Pontifical Academies of Science where Schellnhuber was appointed by Bishop Marcelo Sanchez Sorondo. The bishop locked scientists with contrary views out of the process, scientists he has repeatedly dismissed as “funded by the oil industry.” Given this, how likely is it that the Holy Father was fully aware of the views of the chief scientist who advised him?

Today, JFK would be branded as a dangerous, war-mongering Neocon.

The Liberals abandon their pieties.

As I’ve gotten older, I’ve increasingly had the experience of saying things that would have been considered pieties in the liberal catechism when I was young—and which now will get you labeled as a howling reactionary.

In retrospect, this is partly because the left didn’t always mean some of the ideals it used to pronounce for itself, or at least it didn’t mean them in the high-minded, principled way they sounded. The left had the reputation of being defenders of free speech, for example, but it was always something of a case of “free speech for me but not for thee.” They were all in favor of “questioning authority”—until they became the authorities.

More important, the left has moved farther to the left, leaving moderate “liberalism” behind and embracing a more consistent, authoritarian collectivism.

News Media would rather not talk about anythign else than teachers having sex with their students

Robert Stacy McCain has one in along series of stories about female teachers and their "desire" for their students ... Indecent Liberties: Police Say Teacher Showed Her Nude Selfies to Teen Girls.

Note: Newport News is just a few miles up the road from us.

Which links to this explanation of why there's "nothing to see, move along" take from the press ...
.

As the National Catholic Register’s reporter Wayne Laugesen points out, the federal report said 422,000 California public-school students would be victims before graduation — a number that dwarfs the state’s entire Catholic-school enrollment of 143,000.

Yet, during the first half of 2002, the 61 largest newspapers in California ran nearly 2,000 stories about sexual abuse in Catholic institutions, mostly concerning past allegations. During the same period, those newspapers ran four stories about the federal government’s discovery of the much larger — and ongoing — abuse scandal in public schools…”

Someone not so sanguine as me might have a different take on all this, of course. THAT person might be tempted to question the media. THAT person might doubt the integrity of people who love to remind us that they exist to ask the ‘tough’ questions, and that they have no agenda, and just go “where the story leads them”.

THAT person might ask why, when the evidence should lead them to realizing that there seems to be a lot of, umm, “extra-curricular activity” going on between teachers and the children entrusted to their care, we get …nothing.

This is a two-sided story. The first side is about the actual (not the fake college "rape" hoaxes) sexual abuse of students by a largely female teaching staff in our nation's public schools. The second side is about the media, many of whom are married to school teachers, who avert their gaze from sexual abuse that strikes too close to home.

If You’re Going To Fake A Rape, Remember To Take Off Your Fitbit

Technology can be a useful tool for the rape hoaxer, but inevitably it leads to the hoaxer’s downfall. Social media can catapult a mattress-carrying liar all the way to the State of the Union Address, but then her text-message record can show her for the fraud she is. (And if she subsequently decides to post amateur porn online, well…) A once-respected magazine can put a rape hoaxer in the headlines, but then a handful of bloggers questioning the story can bring it all crashing down.

The Press Loves Hillary (especially the press with lady parts)

Hillary is so good at press relations that she' now in a virtual tie with Bernie Sanders, socialist, in the run for the Democrat nomination.

Making an appearance on The Rachel Maddow Show last night, Andrea Mitchell talked up Hillary, claiming she’s “so good and adept” at handling the press. To be fair, Mitchell made room for exceptions. She added that Clinton had struggled to respond to questions “about the emails and at some points during her book tour.”

Still, the Andrea Mitchell Reports host said that in Hillary’s 20 minutes (gasp!) with the press, she’d “clearly thought these answers through.” Mitchell also glowingly reported that the former Secretary of State laughed off her question about Mitt Romney’s criticism of Hillary’s wealth.

Earlier in the segment, Mitchell talked about how Hillary – in contrast to 2016 presidential candidate Jeb Bush – is largely embracing her husband’s legacy and the legacy of Barack Obama. She observed that Hillary is “not running away from his [Bill Clinton’s] legacy, from his value system.” Yes, apparently Bill Clinton’s value system is now something to be embraced. Mitchell added that Hillary “has no apologies…for what they represent” as she moves forward with the campaign.

Within the last month Jeremy Peters of the New York Times made the case on Morning Joe that Hillary was “really good” at answering questions from the press. Just a few weeks earlier – on Andrea Mitchell Reports, as a matter of fact – USA Today’s Susan Page argued that it was a “mystery” as to why Hillary was avoiding questions, given her opinion that the former New York senator was quite talented at handling the press.

This phony narrative on Hillary doesn’t seem to be changing anytime soon for the liberal press.

Hillary Clinton brags about starting Media Matters

Rush just played this audio clip on his show. It’s a clip from back in August, of Sen. Hillary Clinton addressing the YearlyKooks, I mean Kos, convention. In it, she brags about starting and supporting Media Matters for America.

Doesn’t that make them an adjuct part of her campaign for the presidency? What does McCain-Feingold have to say about this arrangement? And has Norman Hsu’s Ponzi scheme money funded any part of Media Matters? These are the questions that the MSM that regurgitates Media Matters press release attacks as if they’re actual news will not ask and doesn’t want answered.
