I went to see “2016: Obama’s America”
That said, Dinesh D'Souza, an Indian immigrant, provides us
with a view of the world that no one who was brought up in America can genuinely
feel. It takes an immigrant to really
understand Barack Hussein Obama because, despite being born in Hawaii, he has
a view of America that anyone who immigrates here at an early age has. An outsider's view. I know; I'm also an immigrant.
He
grew up in a number of places; his earliest – formative - years in Indonesia. His father left shortly after his birth and
his mother was an anti-American, anti-capitalist, anthropologist. He may be an American citizen but he views
his “roots” as Kenyan.
Without spoiling the film, “2016” is a powerful explanation
of the first President who’s a mystery man to most people and who genuinely
doesn’t sympathize with the American history and culture.
My wife went to see the movie with be, but before we went
in, she asked me “tell me again, why are we seeing this movie?” She went because I wanted to see it. I tried to explain that it was much talked about
and I was told it provided an insight into Obama. Afterward, as we were driving home she told
me that this movie so impressed her that
she was going to volunteer at a phone bank for Mitt Romney.
Go see it; take your friends. It will leave an indelible impression.
