Life in the era of Hope & Change.

Via Glenn Reynolds:

The Albertsons employee gazed across the street at the B-Quik mart where, just 24 hours before, he saw two police officers and a sheriff’s deputy killed before his eyes. Sweat beaded on his forehead, which was lined with worry.

“It had a movie feel to it,” said the employee, who asked not to be named because it could jeopardize his job. The chaos, the crackle of gunfire, the shouts of “officer down” — it might have been a Hollywood battle scene.

He had seen gunfire before. He lived in Baton Rouge, after all. Guns could be quickly acquired from the sporting goods store down the interstate. Bullets, it sometimes seemed, were expended just as easily.

But this was different. These were police, crouching behind cars in tactical gear. In stunned, scared silence, he and his colleagues hunkered down for eight hours, until an official told them it was finally safe to leave.

“There’s a lot going on right now,” he said. “After everything that’s happening — Orlando, Dallas, what happened in France. Alton Sterling. Philando Castile. It’s all over the place.”

What’s all over the place?

“Murder,” he said.

The Virginian Pilot strikes out again

The Virginian Pilot’s headline above the story about the Baton Rouge cop killer was:

“Ex-Marine who killed three officers stalked police, officials say.”

Denial, as they say, is not a river in Egypt.  It’s killing people.

Gavin Long, the killer, is a black separatist, a former member of the Nation of Islam and railed against the police, “crackers,” and several other ethnic groups in his Facebook account.  His belief system is no secret.  His identity as an ex-Marine is far down the list of things that are important to know about him.  But not to the people who work for the Virginian Pilot.

How about this headline: “Facebook user who killed three police officers …”  Or how about “Cracker hater who killed three police officers …”

It’s of a piece with the decision of many in the press to describe the murders in Nice several days ago as the work of a truck rather than a man named Mohammed screaming Allahu Akbar as he ran over his victims.

threeofficers

You will notice that one of the slain men is black, as was the perpetrator. This incident takes us back to 1972 when we saw another spate of police murders by black power separatists and members of the Black Liberation Army.   You remember that in the early 70s a war against police began, a war in which police were gunned down by cold-blooded killers with a racial/political agenda and a convict past. The assailants were members of various black militant groups, mostly offshoots of the Black Panthers, such as the Black Liberation Army (BLA), which specialized in racially-motivated cop killings.  They killed cops, black, white, Asian, it didn't matter.  Just as Jihadists kill the unbeliever, no matter what his or her religion, even other Muslims.

It was almost inevitable that the furor against police officers that’s been whipped up over the Castile and Sterling deaths would end in some person or persons deciding that killing a cop would be just the thing. Whether Long was crazy or not—and he may have been—and a lone wolf or not, even crazy people can be sparked to violence by an atmosphere of orchestrated hatred.

A hatred that has been fostered by Obama when he said that Trayvon Martin, shot while trying to batter George Zimmerman to death, could have been his son, if he had a son.

It was fostered by the a lying, racist, press when they described Michael Brown as a “gentle giant” out for a stroll when he was stalked and brutally shot by a racist cop while his hands were raised shouting “don’t shoot.”  The real story was that Brown was thug who just robbed a grocery store, roughed up its owner, who wrestled for an officer’s gun and was shot while attacking the officer.

And it continues to be fostered by Team Obama who blames police for the pathology of the black underclass and the press who are desperate to hide the truth by blaming the Marines … or trucks … for the carnage in our streets.

Now we need more ax control

Horror as 19 people are hospitalised by 17-year-old Afghan refugee wielding an AXE and shouting 'Allahu Akbar' in German train rampage before police shot him dead as he fled the scene
But don't think for a moment that this has something to do with Islam.

Joachim Herrmann, the interior minister of Bavaria state, said the perpetrator was a 17-year-old Afghan who had lived in nearby Ochsenfurt. He has not yet been named.
'It is quite probable that this was an Islamist attack,' said a ministry spokesman, adding that the attacker had shouted 'Allahu akbar' (God is greatest).
Police will never know the motive.

Oh, THAT biased media

Describing the man who killed five police officers in Dallas, guess the characteristic that the Associated Press thinks is most important.

On July 7, an Army veteran opened fire on law enforcement in Dallas, killing five and wounding seven other officers.

That’s right, he was an Army vet.

Was there anything else about his this killer that would tell us more about him and why he went around shooting police?

Why yes:

The shooter, who was black, said he wanted to kill white people, especially white officers.

Before you think that this makes the killer's motive clear, Obama tells us that it's too early to tell; don't jump to conclusions.

Meanwhile President Obama tells us that we are not as divided as all that.  To prove it he ….
…held an extraordinary four-hour meeting at the White House's executive offices with police officers, community activists and elected leaders.

And who were these community activists?  It was the BLM hate mongers who are closest to what Obama believes about America.

He emerged from the session saying "we're not even close" to the point where minority communities could feel confident that police departments were serving them with respect and equality…
Police officers brought it on themselves? Well, yes.  Police should just suck it up and "just grind it out" in solving the tensions.

It won't be long before Nation of Islam leaders get an invitation to meet with Obama at the White House.

Over at The Federalist - a rabidly anti-Trump blog site, there is this analysis by John Gibbs – a black man - of what Obama has done. It explains the last 7 ½ years well.

My view of America is that we are a place of great promise and opportunity, where someone like me, who is the grandchild of illiterate black Southern sharecroppers, can achieve success and reach the American dream. We are a place occupied by fair-minded, hard-working people whose culture and values have built a nation that is the envy of the world. I am proud to be a part of that culture.

Our Founders, while imperfect and a product of their times, were visionary heroes who made hard choices and compromises to give us the successful system we have today. Because Americans are good, we’ve worked hard over time to right the wrongs in our society that our Founding Fathers could not eliminate in their time. In summary, we are a fundamentally decent people blessed to live in a phenomenal land with a rich heritage.

But not so for President Obama. His view of our nation seems to be very different than mine and that of many other Americans. I believe that when President Obama thinks of America, more so than a place of hope or opportunity, he thinks of a place where racist white Christian fundamentalists came here from Europe, committed genocide against Native Americans, enslaved and segregated black people, denied women, gays, and other minorities their rights, and used capitalism and a rigged legal system to oppress poor people for centuries. He also believes this is still continuing today.

Given this view of America as an evil place in need of forceful justice for her sins, the president’s overarching goal has been to eliminate what he sees as the structural, institutionalized discrimination that defines America. He has done this by taking every opportunity to see disparities between groups as evidence of discrimination, then using all available resources to fight this perceived discrimination by going to war against the Americans he believes are responsible for it, who are almost always whites, men, police, and Christians.

A small sampling of the ways he has done this are: accusing whites of “white privilege,” which means having an unfair advantage due to being white, an advantage built upon oppressing minorities; accusing the police and justice system at large of racism; blaming pay differences between men and women on discrimination; and casting Islamic radicalism as a legitimate response to discrimination (ostensibly by white Christians).

This strategy has had two effects: 1) It’s caused the alleged victims of the perceived discrimination to become more militant, hostile, and only willing to make demands and not willing to engage in dialogue due to increasing their sense of victimhood, and 2) It’s caused the alleged perpetrators of the perceived discrimination to feel unfairly blamed for problems that are not their fault, thus less willing to engage in dialogue with people who will do nothing but accuse them of wrongdoing.

In other words, both sides are moving away from each other. This means that, contrary to unifying the nation, the president’s leadership has caused division and discord.

It means that there will be a lot more incidents like Dallas and Baton Rouge as long as Obama’s in office and if Hillary presides over Obama’s third term.

When a newspaper apologizes for publishing an accurate headline

A newspaper in Memphis quickly apologize after protestors complained about its choice of headline in the wake of the deadly police shooting in Dallas.

“Gunman targeted whites,” read the lead story headline in the Commercial Appeal, a member of the USA Today network. The headline was accurate, as Dallas gunman Micah Xavier Johnson explicitly talked about wanted to kill white police officers before he was eliminated via robot bomb.

That didn’t stop protestors from gathering outside the paper’s office in downtown Memphis on Wednesday to express their displeasure, some holding signs that read “Black Lives Matter.”

Commercial Appeal editor Louis Graham quickly apologized after meeting with the protestors, and wrote an editorial titled, “We got it wrong.”

The "97% of scientists" lie.

Ramirez: Obama on crime and police

France ‘Suppressed Reports of Gruesome Torture’ at Bataclan Massacre

There are some things that the ruling Class don't want you to know.  It would not be good for the narrative that Islam is the Religion of Peace. That massacres have nothing to do with Islam.

A black Volkswagen Polo pulled up outside the Bataclan concert hall at 21:40 (20:40 GMT) on Friday 13 November, and three heavily armed gunmen got out. Less than three hours later they were dead, having killed 90 people at the venue and critically injured many others. What happened in between?
"It looked like an abattoir,"

Hidden from the public was what really happened during the three hours the Islamists were able to go on their killing spree.  They couldn't hide the fact that 90 people were killed.  But they could hide the way they were killed.

A French government committee has heard testimony, suppressed by the French government at the time and not published online until this week, that the killers in the Bataclan appear to have tortured their victims on the second floor of the club....

According to this testimony, Wahhabist killers reportedly gouged out eyes, castrated victims, and shoved their testicles in their mouths. They may also have disemboweled some poor souls. Women were reportedly stabbed in the genitals – and the torture was, victims told police, filmed for Daesh or Islamic State propaganda. For that reason, medics did not release the bodies of torture victims to the families, investigators said.
Read the whole thing if you have a strong stomach.  The problem we have is that the people in government are keeping the nature of the enemy from us either because they don't want to have to do what must be done or because they want to protect the groups that breed these murderers.

Trucks Rampaging in France

Virginian Pilot headline this morning:  “80 Dead After Truck Rams Crowd In France”

It seems that a truck’s at fault.  Just as, after each mass shooting, it’s the gun’s fault - going on a rampage is what guns do while the person holding it is it's helpless prisoner.

Just to underscore the point there is a subhead: “French leader calls it terrorist attack.”  The French leader's jumping to conclusions again.  The editors of the Virginian Pilot are not so sure that the truck is actually a terrorist.  They are withholding judgement until President Obama opines on the subject.

Of one thing you can be sure, to Obama, the press and the Virginian Pilot the motives of the truck – the driver's mentioned as an afterthought – will be a puzzlement.  But it won’t be Muslim terrorism.  The truck was probably not even religious.

Picture of the aftermath of the rampaging truck.

Three Black men shot in Norfolk; Virginian Pilot doesn't report

The Virginian Pilot, the local paper in Norfolk, Virginia, had a story the recently about several Black Lives Matter marches that included blocking the major road and tunnel connecting Portsmouth and Norfolk.  The BLM disruptions were ostensibly to protest the myth that racist police are out hunting black men and shooting them in cold blood.

The police are the biggest threat to the lives of black men according to BLM. As one of the featured columnists in the Pilot explains: “… a routine traffic stop, playing in the park, or shopping at Wal Mart could be fatal activities for African Americans.”  The same writer calls the BLM march in Dallas, “otherwise peaceful” if you don’t count the nine police wounded and the five killed.

Yesterday was marked by the shooting of three young black men sitting in a car smoking dope, an event that was recorded for posterity because, for some reason, one of them was live streaming his activities on Facebook.  He dropped his cell phone when the shooting began but the camera kept recording.

It made the NY Daily News but not the Virginian Pilot:
A barrage of at least 30 shots were heard during the attack, which unfolded at around 6 p.m. in the Norfolk suburb of Berkley. The recording uploaded by a T.J. Williams on Facebook continued to record for at least two hours as good Samaritans and paramedics tended to the three victims, who were all in their late 20s.

The three men were sitting inside a vehicle that was shot up in the Berkley suburb of Norfolk, Virginia.

The Drudge Report had the news.

To the Virginian Pilot, when it comes to black men being shot in Norfolk, it only matters if the shooter is a white cop.  That’s their narrative and they’re sticking to it. Otherwise it never gets to the front page.  In fact it did not get into the dead tree paper today at all and is a sidebar in the on-line version.

Violent and disruptive protests sparked by the “Black Lives Matter” movement have caused serious injuries to numerous law enforcement officers in Minnesota, Illinois, Louisiana, and Missouri, five policemen were shot down by sniper fire in Texas and at four others have been shot in ambushes around the country, gangs of thugs have inflicted severe violence on attendees at the presumptive Republican nominee’s rallies in several other jurisdictions, not to mention the even worse carnage inflicted by radical Islamist terrorists.  But to the Virginian Pilot, the protests and traffic disruption by a few hundred BLM participants remains the big news.

One of the primary ways the Virginian Pilot - and all of the press - distorts the news is the editors’ decisions of what to leave out.  The shooting yesterday of three black men and their bullet riddled car is not news to the Pilot.  Now, if the shooter could only have been white, or better yet a cop, and it would have been “stop the presses.”

Did Philando Castile have a concealed carry permit?

The conservativetreehouse is on the case.

There do not appear to be any official confirmations that he had a concealed carry permit (CCP).

According to a question presented to the local county sheriff who oversees the Concealed Carry Permit process, Mr. Castile had never requested a concealed carry permit from their office:mn shooting 16It is possible a CCP was obtained in another county, however the media are conflating “permit to purchase” with “concealed carry permit”.  For some reason the CCP ownership is being amplified; it really has no bearing and is largely irrelevant for the context of the situation.  That said, there is no factual evidence Mr. Philando Castile had a CCP.

The Minneapolis Star Tribune claims he did have a CCP but refers only to an anonymous source.

Philando Castile had a valid permit to carry a gun when he was shot and killed by a St. Anthony police officer, a source confirmed to the Star Tribune Friday.
So we can't be sure until a CCP is produced.  That should be easy to do, but so far it has not been done.  I am not going to take a reporter's word for anything anymore.

Paul Ryan is not who we are

Paul Ryan, Speaker of the House, 2012 Vice Presidential nominee, upholder of the Establishment flame, Big Man around Washington, has plummeted in the polls.

A poll of likely Republican voters shows House Speaker Paul Ryan well below 50 percent in his race to maintain his seat in Wisconsin’s first Congressional district.

The poll was conducted by P.M.I., with 424 respondents randomly called from a file of 11,000 likely GOP primary voters. It shows that with one month remaining before Wisconsin’s August 9th vote, Ryan is polling at 43 percent.
Ryan’s challenger, Wisconsin businessman Paul Nehlen, is polling at 32 percent.
The Nehlen campaign notes that Ryan’s 43 percent “represents a drop of more than 30 points since the Nehlen campaign began polling likely Republican primary voters earlier in the year.”

Incumbents rarely lose because they have the benefit of the political machine every incumbent has.  Plus familiarly with an office holder gives them an advantage with the public unless they do something really wrong.  In this year of anti-establishment political ferment, Ryan has made a serious error: he uses Obama’s moral poses.

The pose of moral one-upmanship expressed by the phrase “that’s not who we are” is one of both Obama’s and Ryan’s favorites.  Want to control illegal immigration?   “That’s not who we are” is not going to cut it even with independents, much less Republicans.  Want to take a look at the damage free trade agreements have done to working men and women?  “That’s not who we are” is the reason thousands are unable to find work because their jobs are going to foreign labor.  Want to pause the influx of thousands of Muslims from the Middle East until we can figure out which ones want to kill us?  “That’s not who we are” is not and argument, it’s a put down.

“That’s not who we are” dismisses the concerns that people have about the direction of the country.  It’s not designed to make a case, it’s the equivalent of “Shut Up! He Explained”

Of course Ryan is a leading opponent of Donald Trump which is not sitting well a lot of Republicans.

Former Ryan supporters are very disenchanted.

Sonya Naryshkin from Whitewater, Wisconsin had been a Ryan supporter for years before he began championing policies, which, she says, go against the interests of Wisconsin voters.”I had been a big supporter of Paul Ryan’s, I have pictures with him, I’ve gone to Washington to visit with him,” Naryshkin said. “But then he started supporting things that are not in line with our Constitution. He turned to the dark side. He’s totally subscribed to the New World Order.”

Naryshkin, who now supports Paul Nehlen, noted that this is the first year she will not attend the annual Wisconsin GOP fundraising cruise, which Ryan regularly attends.
Nick Gianitsos, a physician from Darien, Wisconsin, said that he too had originally been a big Ryan supporter.
“We hosted fundraisers for Paul Ryan for many years. I was there at the beginning with him back in 1998,” Gianitsos said. “Ryan would say something in this district and he’d sound like the second coming of Calvin Coolidge, but then he’d go to the land of the Lotus Eaters and all of these things [Ryan had said] would change, and suddenly we’d get TPP, and globalism, and crony capitalism.”
Gianitsos noted that Wisconsin voters have “seen a distinct change since Ryan has become Speaker of the House.”
“We now see the Paul Ryan smirk,” Gianitsos said. “We now see him talking down to us instead of being our neighbor. Ryan says [things like], ‘It’s not in our DNA.’ And ‘this is not who we are.’ [But] this is who we are. Isn’t he supposed to be one of us? I think he’s gotten this bravado ever since taking the Speakership maybe because he thinks he’s more insulated from the people because he’s the Speaker. You know, [he thinks] ‘who’s going to un-elect the Speaker?'”
Naryshkin agreed, explaining that since Ryan became Speaker, “the doors of communication to Ryan have totally closed.”
It would not be the first time that a Speaker has lost an election.  Paul Ryan may think there are bigger things in his political future.  Based on these polls and the reaction of his constituents, he's in for a big surprise.

“Riding Dirty” The Curious Case of Philando Castile – Falcon Heights, MN Police Shooting…

There are a few discrepancies to the story being told.

  • Philandro Castile did not have a concealed carry license.

  • His car does not appear to have a broken taillight.

  • Philandro Castile looked like a robbery suspect.  There is reason to believe that's why he was stopped.

  • I'm curious about a woman whose lover has just been shot to calmly take out a camera and stream the encounter.

Dallas Massacre: Progressives, You Built It, You Own It

A mix of outrage and disgust overwhelmed me as I read and heard about the massacre in Dallas of at least five police officers and the wounding of several more. As you all know, the shooting came at the end of a "Black Lives Matter" rally organized to protest police brutality. The media and the other purveyors of politically correct double-plus-good group think labelled it a peaceful protest, well, peaceful except for 12 cops being shot, a 7-Eleven looted, and a few other such minor things. Imagine, if you will, if this had happened at a Trump rally . . . it would have been blamed on Trump's hateful rhetoric and racism.

Once again, however, contrary to the approved Hollywoodesque narrative, we see that it is the left, the progressives, the purveyors of approved thought, the protected ones, the Democratic Party constituents who engage in lethal violence. Five decent police offers lie dead, with more struggling to live. The day before this atrocity, of course, the Progressive Supreme Commander, off on some pointless trip to Europe, and his minions, e.g., the dimwitted governor of Minnesota, the Congressional Black Caucus, lectured us on our racism, and on the need to reflect on our society, etc. In fact, even after this massacre, we have the usual idiots, and, of course, I do mean Reverend Jesse "Never Waste an Opportunity for Some Press" Jackson still going on and on about Trump and white racism. Give it a rest, Rev, give it a rest. Go reflect on how you and your corrupt associates--including your ex-con son--have betrayed the legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr.

Let's be blunt: The people responsible for these killings are those who did the killings. Period.

But, you want to talk about the atmospherics for the killings?

OK, let's do.

An atmosphere of lawlessness exists in the country which I have not seen since the 1960s, along with an atmosphere of officially sanctioned stupidity which I have never seen before. The public schools, the universities, the media, the politicians high and low, and the well-oiled armies of NGOs and other activists for the growing legions of aggrieved multiculturalists and their politics of subgroup identity, now operate detached from reality, oblivious to the consequences of their obliviousness. We witness, as noted before, the exaltation of mental illness, leading to the triumph of insanity, including criminal insanity.

Read the whole thing.
