Great Trump speech to the Boy Scouts ...confirmed by indignant Virginian Pilot editorial.

The Virginian Pilot is an nearly infallible guide, as I have mentioned many times before.  If you take their position on any issue and do the opposite you are almost always going to be right.  I hedge my bets just a tad because I'm not sure what their position is on the sun rising in the East.

That's why I know that Trump's speech to the Boy Scouts in West Virginia must have been great because today they editorialized against it ... without ever quoting any part of it.

Other members of the media compared the Boy Scouts to Hitler Youth.

For those who want to know what Trump said:

Liberals label Boy Scouts "Hitler Youth"

I really hope they keep it up ... Trump's second term coming up.

The Ruling Class in full frontal nudity is an ugly sight ....

Glenn Reynolds (Instapundit)
“Trump, as I keep saying, is a symptom of how rottenly dysfunctional our sorry political class is. Take away Trump and they’re just as awful and destructive. He just brings their awfulness to the fore, where it’s no longer ignorable. Now they’re willing to play with fire, risking the future of the polity over little more than hurt feelings, in a way that would have been unthinkable not long ago.”

Mark Steyn: Going with the Flow

Mark Steyn is one of the best wordsmiths in the world. Read the whole thing.

In the end, most people want to be like most people. That's why they tell you the weekend movie grosses on the Monday morning news and put the Top Ten bestsellers at the front of Barnes & Noble - so that you can like what everybody else likes.

So I find the idea that tens of millions of American "traditionalist" conservatives are going to lead their own lives immune to the broader culture somewhat unlikely. Were the same-sex marriage decision, for example, merely a judicial ruling, Barack Obama would not have lit up the White House in LGBT rainbow colors. It is after all "the people's house" and half the people aren't entirely on board with this. But he chose to see this not as a mere judge's ruling but as an ideological victory - and to celebrate it as such. And he's thereby telling you that this shift is an official one, backed by the state, and state power, and it won't stop here.

Justice Anthony Kennedy, in an actual bit of jurisprudential footnoting in the midst of his Hallmark greeting card on the raptures of gay love, said that organizations would still be free to teach and promote the old form of restrictive straights-only marriage. That's awfully sporting of him, but the Boy Scouts of America provide a clue as to how it's likely to work out. In the late Nineties, the BSA said no to gay scoutmasters. I was on the floor of the Democratic Convention in Los Angeles in 2000 when they had some Eagle scouts as an honor guard - and in my section of the crowd everyone booed. And I remember thinking, "Man, these Dems are nuts. Booing boy scouts?"

But the booers won. Over the next decade, gay-friendly churches (Episcopalian, Congregational, and the other post-Christian ones) booted the scouts from church halls where they'd met for decades; Disney cut them off the list of approved charities to which their employees were permitted to donate their "Ears To You" fundraising proceeds; other corporate benefactors from the US soccer league to Lockheed Martin severed their ties ...and the number of new recruits to scouting dwindled remorselessly, and so did their finances. And in the end the boy scouts' leader caved - but too late. In the blink of an eye, the boy scouts had been, as my friend Ezra Levant likes to say, "de-normalized", and banished to the fringe, and nice soccer mommies don't want l'il Jimmy playing on the extremist fringe.

Is it pedophilia if there's no a priest involved?

To listen to the popular culture as disseminated by the popular press, pedophilia - or sex with minors - is exclusively a problem of the Catholic Church.  One of the most common explanations - and solutions - to the problems is the Church's insistence that its priest may not marry.  So the Liberals who are no more Catholic than Osama bin Laden, tell us that answer is married priests.

If that's the answer, should we let high school teachers marry?

If you pay attention to the news, it’s hard to avoid the conclusion that America’s public schools are staffed by sex-crazed perverts, including this accused molester of teen boyflesh in Pennslyvania:
The of course there's the Boy Scouts which has been bullied into becoming inclusive of homosexuals.
Sexual abuse scandal rocks Boy Scouts of America after $18.5m payout

America's Scouting movement is fighting to keep secret thousands of "perversion files" on suspected child molesters after it was ordered to pay record damages over the sexual abuse of a former Scout.

And let's not overlook the perverts acting as swim coaches.
U.S. swim coaches have molested, groped and secretly taped numerous teenage swimmers over the past decade, according to ABC News. The network counts “36 coaches banned for life for sexual misconduct over the last 10 years” by the U.S. governing body for swimming.

But for some reason, the institutional  taint of sexual depredation only seems to apply to Catholic priests, not to the sexual predators in Hollywood.
"I can tell you that the No. 1 problem in Hollywood was and is and always will be pedophilia. That's the biggest problem for children in this industry. ... It's the big secret," Feldman said.

The "casting couch," which is the old Hollywood reference to actors being expected to offer sex for roles, applied to children, Feldman said. "Oh, yeah. Not in the same way. It's all done under the radar," he said.

"I was surrounded by [pedophiles] when I was 14 years old. … Didn't even know it. It wasn't until I was old enough to realize what they were and what they wanted … till I went, Oh, my God. They were everywhere," Feldman, 40, said.
