Ho hum, this sounds like a tired rehash of the same old crap that the media have been peddling for years. Trump is a racist who hates immigrants. Plus, Trump called the coronavirus a hoax (untrue). It’s also Trump’s fault that two Darwin Award nominees ingested fish tank cleaner they thought included a drug Trump had said might fight coronavirus.

You know the drill: it’s Trump’s fault, everything is Trump’s fault. Especially because Trump is a racist or something.

Making "almost" do all the heavy lifting

Trump almost started World War III. Trump almost catalyzed the entire destruction of the Kurds. Trump almost started war with North Korea. Trump almost started a full-blown war between the Palestinian-Arabs and the Israelis. Trump almost devastated the economy by slapping tariffs on Chinese goods. See how much heavy-lifting the word “almost” is doing? It’s utterly bizarre, because these predictions never happen.

The word’s subjunctive quality has become a shield for the media as they predict wild policy outcomes that have no grounding in the facts.

Don't forget that Trump is responsible for the world ending in 12 years because Trump has not done anything to stop the climate from changing.
