What The Hell Is Wrong With These Democrats?

Every single day, as if trying to out-stupid each other, some left-winger says or does something so ridiculous it sets a new standard for crazy. Whether elected or under the banner of “journalism,” these people seem incapable of wishing their fellow Americans or the country anything good. They are actively, either consciously or not, working against the United States for reasons ranging from incompetence to the hatred of President Donald Trump. None of the options are good, but no other conclusion can be drawn....

PBS White House correspondent Yamiche Alcindor is a prime example. This fat fraud exemplifies the race peddlers who infect the press and make it difficult for the American people to have a genuine conversation on race. She even accused the Black Surgeon General of racism because he recommended that Black people refrain from activities that make them more likely to die from the Wuhan flu.

Yamiche isn’t the only idiot in the press corps, of course. Too many qualify for that title, but few wear it as proudly as Jim Acosta.

A White House correspondent is expected to build contacts and break stories through them, but can you name one story Acosta has broken? ... Yet, there he sits, arguing with the president like he’s running against him.

When not parroting Democratic Party talking points, Acosta is left to his own thoughts, proving the old adage that you shouldn’t work without tools. “We hear from a lot of people who see these briefings as sort of ‘happy talk’ briefings,” he said to the President Friday and was rightly chewed out for it.

You have to look at these people and wonder what the hell is wrong with them. Thousands of people are hospitalized, dying, the economy is in ruins, and they’re playing these stupid games like it’s just another day. Can they really be this dumb? Or do they value their politics over human lives and the wellbeing of this country?

The Devil and Sen. Ted Cruz

Bud Norman:

Judging by the adjectives they’re lately resorting to, many liberals suddenly seem quite fearful that Texas Sen. Ted Cruz might win the Republican presidential nomination. All the panicked comments that follow any story in the respectable press about Cruz’ recent rise in the polls are calling him”worse than Donald Trump,” which seems to be the most damning slur they can think of, and New York Times columnist David Brooks and Mother Jones Washington bureau chief David Corn have reached one step further to describe Cruz as “satanic.”

To be fair to Brooks, he did only say during an appearance on the Public Broadcasting System’s “Newshour” that Cruz had a “dark and satanic tone” to his campaign rhetoric, and we’ll assume that was meant in the nicest way possible, but still, it seems rather harsh. Corn doubled down on the description, though, noting with obvious horror that “If you go to a speech from his dad, who is a pastor, evangelical, it actually is satanic. He — I watched a speech in which he said Satan was behind the Supreme Court decision to legalize gay marriage.” At that point Brooks laughingly said “Well, I withdraw the Satanic from Ted Cruz,” Corn kept up the yucks that were going all around by saying “You’re thinking that it’s political, but sometimes, it’s literal,” and Brooks showed off his fancy education by backing off to the term “Mephistophelian,” which as we understand the term at least demotes Cruz to being merely demonic. In any case, an average viewer of the taxpayer-subsidized PBS “Newshour” would come away with a general impression that all the smarts folks agree Cruz is, at the very least, evil.

It does show that Leftist atheists are totally unaware that Christians - which compose roughly 70% of the American people - believe in a heaven and hell, God and Satan.

‘Reopen Sesame sex suit’

Oh, oh.  It looks as if $125,000 was not enough to buy the silence of Sheldon Stephens who recanted his recantation of teen-age sexual abuse by the voice of Elmo, Kevin Clash.

The man who accused Elmo’s puppeteer of sexual misconduct reportedly wants to recant his recantation.

Sheldon Stephens, 24, last week withdrew sensational claims that, as an underage teen, he had a wild fling with Kevin Clash, the voice behind the beloved Muppet Elmo.

Now Stephens is interviewing lawyers in hopes of ripping up the $125,000 deal he reached with Clash, 52, to deny there was any illegal sex, according to TMZ.

Stephens’ Pennsylvania lawyers last week released a statement on his behalf, absolving Clash of any wrongdoing: “He [Stephens] wants it to be known that his sexual relationship with Mr. Clash was an adult consensual relationship.”

However, Stephens now wants to return to his previous position, claiming Clash had sex with him when he was just 16, TMZ reports.
I suspect he got a better offer.

Corporation for Public Broadcsting Star Has Sex With Underage Boy

Voice of Elmo on leave from Sesame Street after he was accused of having 'sexual relationship with underage boy'
Kevin Clash, 52, is on leave after the programme's lawyers were contacted by a 23-year-old man

Accuser claims he had a sexual relationship with the puppeteer seven years ago, when he was aged 16

Not that there's anything wrong with homosexuals attacking underage boys if they're Liberal.

Catholic Church joined by BBC and PBS as serious sexual abuse perpetrators.

Don't touch that puppet, you don't know where it's been.

Purging NPR.

Totalitarian movements have a history of starting small, growing larger … and then purifying itself via purges of its ranks until its leaders are left with a steel core – a cadre - of true believers who are capable of virtually anything. The Nazis went through this phase; the Communists went through this phase.

It now appears that NPR is going through this phase. The political polarization in the US is worse than I have ever seen in in my more than 6 decades of life. On the Left we see what kind of a country we will have when it is in total control of the federal government. On the Right we see a popular uprising against the political takeover of ever more aspects of our lives represented most dramatically by the people who represent “middle America” via the Tea Party Movement.

To counter this populist reaction, the Left is purging its ranks of those who are not totally committed. NPR is composed for the most part of committed Leftist but there are some there who had a foot in both camps. Juan Williams is one; he is now purged. Mara Liasson is on the hit list if the arbiters of political purity at Media Matters have their way.

Professor William Jacobson at Legal Insurrection makes the point that FOX News, the press organ most hated by the Left, and which is accused of being the monolithic voice of the Right, is much more inclusive that the organs of the Left:
“No conservatives are trying to prevent people from appearing on NPR, but liberal interest groups and their media outlets are trying to prevent people from appearing on Fox News.”

(Hat tip to Glenn Reynolds)

It will be interesting to see if the purge has the intended effect; that is, to create a solid cadre of die-hard propagandists who will eventually dominate public information. That seems unlikely absent government intervention.  The Liberal hive once had that hegemony when there were only three TV networks and the Internet did not exist. It seems that the Left is now making the mistake that the military often makes, fighting the last war. The military learns from its mistakes because it lacks ideological blinders. Not so the Left.

What do Liberals think of the South?

Liberal academics want to remake "The South." What do they think is the trouble with this region of the country?

[Connie Fowler and Diane Roberts, two academics]... expounded on the troubles and “isms” that the South faces, all of which were blamed on the conservative population, its guns and its religion

“We’ve been using this word all day long – sustainable,” said Fowler. “What is sustainable in the South. Hateness is not sustainable. Raping the earth is not sustainable. Classism is not sustainable. Stupidity is not sustainable."

So there you have it, you people (and you know who you are) clinging bitterly to your guns and religion. You are haters, rapists, class conscious destroyers of the earth ... and stupid.

But don't worry, the people who know better are going to change all that:

This new South will be a place where the diversity is as diverse as the food and culture are good. A place where “tricky” religion is in its place, “nutty right-wing talk radio” is replaced by Keb’Mo’s greatest hits, and the only “ism” one will find is “eco-tourism.”
For those who don't agree, well, perhaps they can be strangled by Joe Biden or dealt with in other ways: No Pressure.

Obama leads to post racial America? How about a race obsessed America?

If the New York Times is the print edition of the Liberal establishment, PBS is the electronic media voice of state sponsored Progressivism. Having seen their saviour's popularity plummet like a meteorite hitting the earth's atmosphere, the denizens of PBS-land feel the need to point their man to serving their parochial desires. Having created a class of people whose education and attitude make them marginally employable. Combine that with an economy that's being suffocated by the Obama administration like a member of Hamas in a Dubai hotel room, and you have an unemployment rate among younger Blacks around 44%.

So Tavis Smiley wants some more of that delicious Kool Aid.

PBS host Smiley calls meeting to urge black agenda
By JESSE WASHINGTON (AP) – 4 hours ago

Two months after ending his annual State of the Black Union conference, Tavis Smiley is gathering African-American advocates to press the case for a "black agenda."

The decision was motivated by what Smiley called recent statements from some black leaders downplaying the need for President Barack Obama to specifically help African-Americans.

"I was compelled to do it because of this debate," the activist and PBS talk show host said Wednesday.

The panel discussion will be March 20 at Chicago State University. Panelists include advertising pioneer Tom Burrell, professors Michael Eric Dyson and Cornel West, Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan, the Rev. Jesse Jackson, and Bennett College President Julianne Malveaux.

It should be noted that all the panelists are highly compensated and have never been known to meet a payroll.

My letter to PBS Ombudsman Michael Getler

Last evening’s story on the tragic ice storm in Kentucky and surrounding states contrasted strangely with the reporting surrounding hurricane Katrina. The story was largely upbeat with local responders coping with the horrific after-effects of the storm. Note that dozens of people died as a result of the storm so it was not merely inconvenient. Hundreds of thousands are still without power or heat and may be for as long as a month in freezing temperatures during the coldest winter in a decade.

The primary contrast was the fact the report made absolutely no mention of FEMA or – for that matter – any federal response to this tragedy. The contrast between the party atmosphere in Washington and the cranked up heat in the Oval Office with people freezing to death in Kentucky could not have been more stark.

Of course, this lack of reportage on the lack of a federal response is not limited to PBS. The rest of the national media is equally incurious.

Best,
XXXXX

This is the message that comes back when you send a comment:

Thank you for your thoughts. Michael Getler values viewers' submissions, and he and his assistant try to read all letters. The ombudsman's column will address significant issues related to how PBS upholds its own standards of editorial integrity.

UPDATE:

National death toll hits 55 in ice storm, 24 in KY

UPDATE 2: The APObama says that FEMA "Gets decent marks."

And who awards those marks? Why Kentucky's Democrat governor who called the Democrat president asking for a state of emergency. So what's the opinion of the people on the ground? Here's how the article begins...
EDDYVILLE, Ky. – In the first real test of the Obama administration's ability to respond to a disaster, Kentucky officials are giving the federal government good marks for its response to a deadly ice storm.

Yet more than 300,000 residents remained without power Monday and some areas had yet to see aid workers nearly a week after the storm, a fact not lost on some local authorities.

"We haven't seen FEMA. They haven't been here," said Jaime Green, a spokeswoman for the emergency operations center in Lyon County, about 95 miles northwest of Nashville, Tenn.

Is this the kind of natural disaster that traditionally overwhelms FEMA? No!
Gov. Steve Beshear raised Kentucky's death toll to 24 on Monday, meaning the storm has been blamed in at least 55 deaths nationwide. And while it also knocked out power to more than a million customers from the Southern Plains to the East Coast, it's still considered a medium-sized disaster, the kind FEMA has traditionally been successful handling.

So what, exactly has FEMA done? It seems that supplies got to a depot in Kentucky four days after the storm hit.
Beshear asked Obama for a disaster declaration to free up federal assistance Thursday, two days after the storm hit, and Obama issued it hours later. Trucks loaded with supplies began arriving at a staging area at Fort Campbell, Ky., on Friday morning, said Mary Hudak, a spokeswoman for the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

Heck of a job Barry.

So who's handing out the "atta boy" comments? You had to ask?

Beshear has consistently praised Obama, a fellow Democrat, for the attention he's devoted to what Beshear calls the biggest natural disaster to hit his state.

"We have had tremendous and quick response from President Obama and his administration," Beshear said Monday. "I don't think any of our folks that have dealt with disasters before ever recall as quick a response as we got last Wednesday."

Another cheerleader for FEMA is part of the FEMA network.
Trina Sheets, executive director of the National Emergency Management Association, based in Lexington, Ky., said that from what she's heard, FEMA's response has been very good so far. Her group represents emergency management directors from all 50 states.

What can she point to as the Federal success?
"The governor's declaration request for an emergency was turned around very, very quickly by FEMA and the White House," said Sheets, who just had her power restored Monday after four days without it. "And President Obama has spoken with the governor of Kentucky on several occasions throughout the event."

That's it. Declaring a state of emergency (with typically takes a few hours) and a few phone calls. Heck of a job, Barry.

Sheets said she hadn't heard any complaints so far about the federal response.
Perhaps that's because the MSM have barely mentioned the pitiful federal response in their news reports.

Oh wait, there have been complaints:
By Monday, FEMA officials were checking in on supply distribution points in some rural areas. FEMA official Don Daniel stopped by to ask emergency management officials in Grayson County, who had criticized FEMA's absence late last week, what they needed.
Apparently they were not passed along to Sheets.

Oh, and here's another complaint:
Brocton Oglesby, director of emergency management in Hopkins County, said he has seen virtually no contribution from FEMA in the county, where more than half of the 27,000 homes remained without electricity.

"They need to be here — at least a presence, a liaison to work with us, to start feeding information and gearing up for the next stage," Oglesby said. "That's where they're going to be needed the most."

Oglesby's seen FEMA show up after other disasters to assess the damages and write checks. Beshear asked for FEMA to have a role on the front end this time, though, and Oglesby said that hasn't happened

Heck of a job Barry.

And what can FEMA do? Here's a suggestion:
Oglesby said he would like FEMA to bring in outside electricians to help go door to door to make sure the electricity is operational in each house once it comes back on.

"Right now, mom and pop are going to have to fend for themselves and find an electrician," Oglesby said. "This is where we're needing FEMA's presence."

If you got no farther than the headline you would conclude that FEMA is doing a great job. Heck of a job, Barry.

Mara Liasson and Illegal Immigrants: Can't Understand Why an Amnesty Bill Has Not Passed.

Tonight on Fox’s Special Report with Brit Hume the panel discussed illegal immigrants. This was the way that thousands demonstrated for open borders, amnesty and the legalization of illegals.

Mara Liasson – of NPR and PBS - wondered aloud why a bill mandating their demands – or at least providing amnesty – had not already passed. She cited the fact that leaders of both parties are in favor of allowing illegals to stay and providing them an easy path to citizenship. So what’s the holdup?

Well, it seems the “people” are opposed. That leads to the question of the disconnect between the leaders and the people.

Many reasons are given and there is some truth, I am sure, in all of them. But there is one overwhelming difference between the “leaders” and the people: to America’s leaders Mexican immigrants are the household help: the maids and gardeners who provide the menial labor; analogous to the servants in English homes prior to the 20th century.

To the rest of America, immigrants are the competition; the people who will work for below-minimum wages. They are the people they encounter when they shop at Wal-Mart who can’t speak English and who are the reason for the bi-lingual signs in the big-box stores. They are the ones who are changing the country and competing for jobs, who are eating their tax dollars, and who they can’t afford to hire to do menial jobs because they don’t have the disposable income.

And Mara Liasson doesn’t relate because she is not one of them, never was and never will be.

PBS: Christianity made Islam Antisemitic

Diana West has caught PBS in its usual role of bashing Christianity and shilling for Islam.

According to the show, Jews basically caused Anti-Semitism in the Arab-Muslim region around them by first building the tiny modern state of Israel (500 times smaller than that Arab Muslim region), and then actually trying to defend it against a host of Muslim armies and terror groups. As PBS tells it, it isn't the genocidal proclivities of surrounding Muslim nations that have caused war unending on the Jewish state; it's the continued existence of the Jewish state that has caused the genocidal proclivities. The show practically begs a viewer to ask, Well, what else could you expect?

Read the whole thing.

UPDATE: Responses to the article varied including typical attacks by liberal including one who uses the name of liberalgoodman.

Liberalgoodman said:
This thread makes clear beyond arguing that religious chauvinism alive and well among conservatives.

I replied: I realize that name-calling is considered “reasoning” of “argument” by liberals so you are asked to understand liberalgoodman. It’s the way people like him communicate. What is interesting is the fact that no one siding with the Muslims on this issue addresses the fact that the Koran specifically instructs believing Muslims on the treatment of Jews: kill them, subjugate them, and – in the modern interpretation – destroy them as a people and as a nation. We are dealing here with both historical anti-Semitism, of which both Christians as well as Muslims are rightly accused, as well as the virulent anti-Semitism now practiced by Muslims. And this anti-Semitism is now an article of faith and freely expressed by large portions of the Left. I believe this is largely the result of the old belief that “the enemy of my enemy is my friend.”

The Left now hates America, the Right, Bush and especially committed Christians so much that it has embraced anti-Semitism in solidarity with Islamofascists who are today the most visible, active and violent opponents of America.

liberalgoodman said:
osthode: I understand why Jews wanted a country. Now you have to understand why Palestinians didn't want it to be theirs. Actually . . . I'm sure you do, but it's impossible to say it.

I replied: Here is another interesting example of being able to prove virtually anything assuming you can set the terms of the debate. For the Left, the Middle East’s history began with the establishment of the Jewish State. Forget about the establishment of the other States in the region, largely as the result of European nations drawing national borders and setting up native rulers. Forget about the history of the region before that, including the establishment of the original Jewish nation in Old-Testament times. Forget about the wars between Israel and its neighbors, the Roman conquest, the Diaspora and all the other bits and piece of history, both Jewish and non-Jewish. Forget about the Muslim wars of conquest during the rise of the Caliphate which almost overran Europe. No. the only, overriding irredeemable wrong done by any people anywhere in history was when Jews fled the death camps of Europe to settle in their “Promised Land” and took an unproductive desert and made it bloom. How dare they.
