What Wikileaks reveals.

Admit it, it’s kind of fun reading what Ambassador X says about Potentate Y. Many of the “leaks” also reinforce what you knew about what was really going on, but the government/media/Left were lying about. Wasn’t it interesting that the Saudis rather than the Israelis were more vociferous about taking out the Iranian nuclear facilities?

What has not been more discussed is what Wikileaks is doing and showing about the government.

1. Who is supplying the information to Wikileaks? So far, we have one homosexual American PFC in the brig with several charges against him. But the charges are surprisingly light. Is he the sole source of the leaks or are there more people involved?

2. Everyone assumes that what’s being leaked is true. How do we know? The best kind of espionage misinformation is buried on lots of truthful information. How do we know that Wikileaks is not an effort of sabotage via lies surrounded by truth?

3. The American government is shown as the halting, confused and indecisive response of an administration that has watched a large part of its communications security destroyed. They’re still talking about dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s on an Assange arrest warrant. ..

The true significance of Wikileaks, … is that it lays bare how utterly helpless and indecisive the current crop of leaders are. If they can’t protect the crown jewels, cannot keep allies who have bet their lives from exposure, cannot even bring themselves to question Julian Assange, what odds would you give them in other fights?

4. The publication of the clear text of diplomatic cables has now given every foreign government the ability to read our encrypted diplomatic cables. Once you know what the clear text of an encrypted message is, it becomes child’s play to figure out what the code used to encrypt our diplomatic messages is.

5. The news media, including the NY Times, is now a party to helping our enemies read our secret communications via publication of these messages; not the messages in the leaks,, but all messages using diplomatic or military code.
The Wikileaks saga has so many twists and turns, trying to determine who’s who and what’s what is smoke and funhouse mirrors.

Bradley Manning: Poster Boy for 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell'

Ann Coulter:
We've heard 1 billion times about the Army translator who just wanted to serve his country, but was cashiered because of whom he loved.

I'll see your Army translator and raise you one Bradley Manning. According to Bradley's online chats, he was in "an awkward place" both "emotionally and psychologically." So in a snit, he betrayed his country by orchestrating the greatest leak of classified intelligence in U.S. history.

Isn't that in the Army Code of Conduct? You must follow orders at all times. Exceptions will be made for servicemen in an awkward place. Now, who wants a hug? Waitress! Three more apple-tinis!"

According to The New York Times, Bradley sought "moral support" from his "self-described drag queen" boyfriend. Alas, he still felt out of sorts. So why not sell out his country?

As always, Ann is witty and insightful at the same time.  Read the whole thing.

Obama prohibits oil exploration beyond his term of office.

Whatever the merits or demerits (I think it’s totally ideological) of Obama’s ban on offshore drilling through at least 2017, what struck me the most about this decision is that the ban extends past a potential second term. If Obama wins a second term – an increasingly longer shot as each day passes – he’s going to be president until January 2017. The ban announced on December 1st extends past this point. Of course Obama’s successor can repeal the ban with the stroke of a pen, just as Obama created the ban with the stroke of a pen.

With this action, it appears that Obama’s enforcing the policies of the Left and the radical environmental lobby while simultaneously making a show of meeting with Republicans during the lame duck session. Smoke and mirrors in the most cynical sense.

From UpstreamOnline, we get industry reaction:
Chevron said it was “disappointed” with the decision today to limit US offshore exploration beyond existing areas under lease, characterising it as a “step in the wrong direction”.

Chevron released a statement to Upstream this afternoon expressing its displeasure.

“The decision is a step in the wrong direction for American energy policy and American economic policy,” the company said in a statement sent via e-mail by spokeswoman Margaret Cooper. “It undermines the nation’s economic recovery by impeding job creation, increased revenue to federal treasuries and access to affordable domestic energy supplies.”

“This announcement will limit US production and fails to recognise the critical contribution US offshore development is making to increase domestic energy supply,” it added.
Needless to say, wind turbine manufacturers like GE, Vestas and Siemens were overjoyed and Big Offshore Wind hosted a conference on December 1.

Palin for President!

I think Sarah Palin is the most under-rated political figure in America today. No, I’m serious. She was chosen as McCain’s VP and gave an acceptance speech at the Republican Convention that still resonates: “I guess a small-town mayor is sort of like a "community organizer," except that you have actual responsibilities.” Can anyone come up with a line from McCain’s acceptance speech?

What followed was a political crime, with members of McCain’s team sabotaging her in a number of ways, including allowing her to be interviewed by MSM figures that hated her and were allowed to edit the interview with the result that even today many people think that Palin has not read a book. Isn’t that one of the reasons so many conservatives doubt her abilities or are on the fence? You are allowing Katie Couric – of all people – to influence your judgment!

He decision to resign as Governor of Alaska was supposed to end her political career. All the “smart” people, like George Will, agreed on this.  How’s that prediction working out for you? In what was one of the boldest and smartest moves made by any rookie politician she gave herself the tools to amass a personal fortune and the ability to become a figure on the national stage.  Anyone who’s stuck in Alaska simply can’t do that for logistical reasons.

And how about this “dumb broad” using Facebook as a way of bypassing the MSM? No other political figure has used the new media quite this way and this effectively.  Reagan’s success was built partly on his ability to speak directly to the American people, avoiding the gatekeepers in the media. He also had the ability to project the fact that he had so much in common with the average American; he was “real people” even though he had spent most of his life in Hollywood. Well, as the Gipper would say, Sarah Palin is the real deal. Didn’t graduate from Yale or Harvard, worked for a living at jobs to which ordinary people can relate, has a real family with all its quirks (sort of like the Reagan kids), has a good looking husband who has a job that – to repeat – to which real people can relate.

Palin is, from the very beginning, an unlikely elected leader. Conventional wisdom says you don’t rise in politics by bringing down your party’s leaders. She became governor of Alaska by bucking the corruption in her own party. Even now she is being dissed by the king-makers in the Republican establishment. I have read some comments by bloggers who wrote that they don’t want to be governed by people like themselves; they want to be governed by their betters. They’re finding out the hard way that their “betters” are simply better credentialed, not wiser. The fact is that most people like to vote for people just like themselves. In the last presidential election they voted for a blank slate that to this day is largely unknown. The next election will be for someone we know intimately. No more voting for ephemeral “HopeN’Change.” It’s time to elect someone who is firmly grounded. Sarah Palin.

Cornel West accuses the Obama administration of being "racist in effect!"

Via Legal Insurrection

What is “racist in effect?” The way West uses it, it means that if a policy leaves black people no better off – or even worse off - than they were before, it’s “racist in effect.” The Obama administration has seen black unemployment rise to 16.3% and black teen unemployment go over 45%.

By West’s definition, you don’t have to hate, dislike or even care about black people to be a racist. All that’s required is for blacks to be … what? I really don’t know what it would take to get off the West racist list, but I suspect that it involves lots of money and lots of racial bean-counting.

Cornel West is Professor of Religion and African American studies at Princeton University. Why does this not surprise me?

Portland saved from terrorist attack by feds they rejected.

In 2005, leaders in Portland, Oregon, angry at the Bush administration's conduct of the war on terror, voted not to allow city law enforcement officers to participate in a key anti-terror initiative, the FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force. On Friday, that task force helped prevent what could have been a horrific terrorist attack in Portland. Now city officials say they might re-think their participation in the task force -- because Barack Obama is in the White House.

Sarah Palin ... Revolutionary!

Dr, Gina Loudon writes Fear Factor: Sarah Palin and 2012 at Andrew Breitbart's Big Government.

Dr. Dathan Paterno, noted psychologist and author says the reality is, that there WILL be a woman president in the near future—that it is in the American psyche. What happens if conservatives choose NOT to nominate Sarah Palin? Certainly the liberals will nominate a woman soon, and then they continue the whining about sexism that has worked for them for so long.

Liberals and establishment politicians of all parties seem to have a special venom for the former Governor of Alaska. If she is really so “unelectable” then why all the fuss? “Thou doth protest…”. If she is really so laughable, then why do the jokes about her keep falling flat? Could it be that they obsess about her for the psychological reason that they can’t stand the threat she poses to them? Could it be because they see her as the greatest threat in recent history to their personal goals, and the establishment media and messaging they have used to control politics in this country for a generation? Could it be that the nomination of Sarah Palin for President is a revolution? ....

The liberals have always underestimated Governor Palin and she has continued to shock them as she seamlessly wins elections like a political Houdini of sorts.

All of the accusations about her motives tend to leave the listening public with one logical conclusion: She must be in this because she believes in what she is doing, and genuinely cares about this Country. That is not a half bad motive by most peoples’ standards, and it is hard to argue otherwise and sound rational.

If Sarah Palin runs and wins, it will certainly be a political analyst’s dream to observe. Fear is not a factor for the Palins, and they seem to enjoy the challenge of overcoming all the predictions about their family. They might just shock us again in the weeks to come–and the ones after that.

The "Poverty" Part of the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) Doesn't Apply to It's Leaders.

In fact, poverty does not seem enter into the SPLC's concerns.

The Petrelis Files exposes the fabulous wealth of the poverty pimps running the SPLC. Not only does the SPLC have about $190 million in the bank, but that banks appears to be in a tax haven - the Cayman Islands (form 1099, part V, line 4b). Could it be in case Morris Dees, head of the SPLC, decides to leave the country with the SPLC treasury?

It looks like he's already helped himself to much of it.  Dees pays himself $350,000 per year, and travels on chartered planes (private jets for those of you in flyover country).

Poverty pays very well as evidenced by Dees home and wife:

The swimming pool, as seen from the pool house.

An area in the main house for relaxing conversations.

The studio building for Dees' wife Susan Starr.

A lounging jacket designed and modeled by Starr.

Played right, poverty a a very lucrative business.  After seeing these pictures we can better understand why Dees and the SPLC is such a go-to source for the media.  Dees is just like them.

"The Euro Game is up. Who the hell do you think you are?"

Sarah Palin on Barack Obama

One of the best things about Sarah Palin is her ability to puncture the puffed up posers like Obama.  Remember that line from her acceptance speech?
I guess a small-town mayor is sort of like a "community organizer," except that you have actual responsibilities.
Here's a response via Facebook to those Liberals who are busy faulting her for verbal gaffes, with a litany of gaffes that Obama has made - even though he reads most of his speeches from a Teleprompter:

My fellow Americans in all 57 states, the time has changed for come. With our country founded more than 20 centuries ago, we have much to celebrate – from the FBI’s 100 days to the reforms that bring greater inefficiencies to our health care system. We know that countries like Europe are willing to stand with us in our fight to halt the rise of privacy, and Israel is a strong friend of Israel’s. And let’s face it, everybody knows that it makes no sense that you send a kid to the emergency room for a treatable illness like asthma and they end up taking up a hospital bed. It costs, when, if you, they just gave, you gave them treatment early, and they got some treatment, and ah, a breathalyzer, or an inhalator. I mean, not a breathalyzer, ah, I don’t know what the term is in Austrian for that…
Of course that won't shut the ankle-biters up, but it's great fun.

I'm for any program that requires Nancy Pelosi and Janet Napolitano to either be felt up or videotaped nude every morning by Jose, the $20-an-hour security guard -- just as they do for the rest of us.

Ann Coulter realizes that the Capitol is a much better terrorist - sorry, "man caused disaster" - target than an airplane, so why are members of congress not groped ... uh, "screened?"

Strange Men Grope Nancy Pelosi or the Terrorists Have Won

Her best line:
Is there anyone in the government who can tell us why the pilot doesn't need a box-cutter to seize control of the airplane and kill everyone on it? You there, in the back -- the skinny guy with the big ears behind the teleprompter: Wanna take a guess? Bueller? Anyone? Bueller?

Next Tea Party Target: Corporate America

Modern Big business is not Conservative or Republican. Modern Big Business is often a partner with Big Government at the expense of the American people. It is comfortable joining with the government to shut down competition or to have the government subsidize projects that are not economically feasible on their own. Big Ethanol, which is actually a net energy loser for the American driver is a giant profit center for ag-giant Cargill. GE is another huge company whose CEO, Jeff Immelt, has been following Obama around like a puppy. He was one of Obama’s followers during his recent trip to Asia and specializes in getting business via tax breaks and government subsidies for wind turbines, ultra-expensive light bulbs and other “green” products that can’t survive without government mandates or subsidies. Of course Immelt needs all the help he can get for driving the price of GE from a high to 60 to a low of 6 while cutting its dividend by over 60% in over a decade of mismanagement. He exhibits all the skills of Obama, so perhaps it’s a good match.

Pharmaceutical giants Johnson & Johnson and Pfizer are also Big Progressive Government supporters, giving millions to promote Obamacare as well as Cap-&-Trade. Both represent Big Government joined at the hip with Big Business to screw the consumer while fattening their bottom lines and aiding the government in extending its reach into every aspect of our lives. JNJ stockholders have done better than GE’s shareholders, being essentially even for the last 5 years. Pfizer, on the other hand dropped from $44/share in the year 2000 to $12/share in 2009 while cutting its dividend in half.

So it struck me as a great idea for the Tea Party to educate its members about the way in which these big companies are using the dollars we are putting in their pockets. There are alternatives to Ge lighbulbs and other consumer products as well as the products that JNJ and PFE make. The Tea Party is a grass roots movement with literally millions of shoppers in its ranks. I will be very interested to see how these companies react to the changing buying decisions of millions of people.

Quantitative Easing Explained

An explanation of the Ben Bernank and the Goldman Sachs ... and much more.

The Smart Diplomacy of Our Brilliant New Leader: Negotiating the End of the Afghan War with an Imposter!

Is this an example of the Smart Diplomacy™ that The Ones We Have Been Waiting For have brought us after that dummy cowboy Bush fouled things up?

You can’t make this stuff up: Obama and his minions run around the world apologizing for America and vowing to negotiate the end of all wars. It turns out the “leader" that we have been negotiating with in Afghanistan is an imposter.

From the NY Times, the paper that brought you this brilliant leader:

KABUL, Afghanistan — For months, the secret talks unfolding between Taliban and Afghan leaders to end the war appeared to be showing promise, if only because of the appearance of a certain insurgent leader at one end of the table: Mullah Akhtar Muhammad Mansour, one of the most senior commanders in the Taliban movement.

But now, it turns out, Mr. Mansour was apparently not Mr. Mansour at all. In an episode that could have been lifted from a spy novel, United States and Afghan officials now say the Afghan man was an impostor...

How and why? Well, it turns out that we did not know exactly what Mansour looked like and the why is also explained:

“It’s not him,” said a Western diplomat in Kabul intimately involved in the discussions. “And we gave him a lot of money.”

American officials confirmed Monday that they had given up hope that the Afghan was Mr. Mansour, or even a member of the Taliban leadership.

It turns out that those face masks that the Taliban wear have a use after all: it allows the occasional imposter to collect "lots of money" (millions?) by claiming to be a "leader" willing to negotiate.

When things like this happen, you know the whole world is playing you for a fool. The North Koreans are playing with us, so are the Chinese and the Russians; but when some swindler from the hills of Pakistan can waltz in and scam you for “a lot of money” you know that no one, literally no one respect you any longer. All it took was two years and the US loses whatever respect it had in the world.

Right now I suspect that the Taliban is deliberately using telephones that they know are being monitored, chattering about hiding explosives in women’s breasts and men’s testicles just to watch Team Obama go into an orgy of poking and groping of old women and young children. They are laughing their asses off while Americans shun the airlines for the roads this Holiday season.

How the Crisis Happened

Having Failed to Convince People that Man Made Global Warming is Real, Warmists Now Turn to Psychological Tricks.

From where else but UC Berkley:

Dire messages about global warming can backfire, new study shows

Results showed that those who read the positive messages were more open to believing in the existence of global warming and had more faith in science’s ability to solve the problem. Moreover, those who scored high on the just world scale were less skeptical about global warming when exposed to the positive message. By contrast, those exposed to doomsday messages became more skeptical about global warming, particularly those who scored high on the just world scale.
Prepare to see messages that show how you can prevent global warming if you just give up ...... etc., etc, etc.  Oh wait, you already are,
