MSNBC's Karen Finney on Herman Cain

What we're seeing here is Liberals finally expressing their opinion of black men and the main reasons they voted for a junior senator with no experience instead of Hillary Clinton. In the Liberal world race trumps gender. They voted for the black guy who made them feel good and now they feel liberated to express their racist views and project them on their opponents.

"A black man who knows his place?" Why yes, this black man belongs in the White House not because he is black but because his ideas and his philosophy is sound.

Herman Cain tops Mitt Romney in latest CBS/NYT poll

CBS/NYT poll

Cain        25%
Romney  21%
Gingrich 10%
Paul          8%
Perry        6%

Cain is showing remarkable staying power despite an almost universal MSM attempt to marginalize him. Exhibit "A" today:
Here's C-BS: Bizarre Herman Cain ad features chief of staff smoking

Here's the ad.

I suppose if you are a New York metrosexual and are more familiar with public homoerotica than with public smoking, you would consider the end of the video bizarre. Note how the image of the man smoking is followed by the image of Cain breaking into a grin. You are being treated to an inside joke.  It works for people in flyover country and is totally lost on the beltway boys and the people who swarm in the media hive. They think Modern Family is edgy. They think Occupy Wall Street is revolutionary.

It's not.

By this time we've been there, done that and got the T-shirt.

Men smoking in a commercial for a political candidate is edgy.    How can you tell?  It outrages the media boys.  It flips them the bird.

Their hero, Barack Obama, hides his smokes.  Mark Block does what Obama's afraid to do.

While the media is writing stories about the inevitability of Mitt Romney, Herman Cain is breaking out of the pack, breaking the mold and the media don't understand it. He doesn’t fit the template in so many ways that they convince themselves that he's the flavor of the week. It's an illustration of the old adage that when theory and reality collide, ideologues discard reality.

Why does Eugene Robinson hate black people?

It’s fun isn’t it? I mean it’s fun taking the hateful things Liberals say about Conservatives and turning it back on them when the opportunity arises. Take Eugene Robinson, please. No that’s an old Henny Youngman joke.

Take Eugene Robinson as an example. He’s a Liberal columnist who uses his perch on the opinion pages to promote Liberalism and criticize Conservatives with an overwhelming dose of blackness because – he’s black.

So he dismisses Herman Cain in a snippy column, calling him the flavor of the month and his ideas stupid. Meanwhile back on the Liberal plantation, virtually anything you can say that’s critical of Barack Hussein Obama (“mmmmm, mmmmm, mmmmm”) is either overtly racist or a racist dog whistle.

Well, Eugene Robinson has denigrated Herman Cain, a genuine black man – not half white like the current occupant of the White House. So we have to ask, why does Eugene Robinson hate black people so much? Is Eugene Robinson a self-hating black man? It’s a fair cop, as they say in England.

Did Obama prepare the ground for Herman Cain?

It’s beginning to appear that Herman Cain is more than the flavor of the week. Lacking both the money and the organization of either Romney or Perry, he seems to be taking over the heart of the Republican Party.

I have a theory that Cain may just be the unintended creation of Barack Obama. I have argued before that the Tea Party was the unintended creation of the MSM. Obama proved that the American people will elect a black man. His destructive policies once in office resulted in the creation of the Tea Party, a genuine grass-roots movement of everyday Americans who saw their country being bankrupted and transformed into a society at war with itself.

As the Republicans began vetting people who would offer an alternative to Obama, the Republican Establishment offered up Romney, a good enough politician, handsome and wealthy, but with some serious baggage consisting of past political positions. People examined Michele Bachman as the anti-Romney, the Christian conservative; and she was a contender. Until Rick Perry came along, another handsome political figure from Texas, a state that works. Unfortunately, Perry has proven to be somewhat tongue tied in debates. Could Obama make him look inept? That’s a big concern.

So finally we’re looking at Herman Cain whose credentials are only now being exhibited and they are impressive indeed. The question of whether the nation is ready for a black president has already been answered. Cain’s educated, successful, and comfortable in his own skin, good in debate with the ability to inspire people who would not be expected to be his natural constituency. He's leading both Republican opponents as well a Barack Obama in the Zogby poll.  The interesting thing is that Herman Cain does not have a “natural” constituency identified by race, ethnicity, religion or region. He is conservative without being strident, I have no idea of his religion although I’m confident that he is a Christian, and the fact that he is black does not seem to inform his politics. If we were to cast a movie of his life, the role would be a natural for the wise father, a Bill Cosby, say.

Barack Obama fooled a lot of white liberals and moderates by claiming to be the first post-racial president. Having seen his pastor of 20 years, Jeremiah Wright, those of us in the Conservative bleachers were not fooled. Herman Cain could very well be the real deal.

Writing as a Georgian and a former civil rights fighter, it’s hard for me to remain purely objective when it comes to Herman Cain’s candidacy. My heart swells every time I hear him speak. There are days when I practically get weak-kneed just imagining a debate between him and Barack Obama. I’ve got a deep-down feeling that Obama would leave that debate stage feeling as though he had just had a very painful woodshed experience with a mature father wielding a rhetorical paddle.

That’s just me, of course. But from the looks of the way this is going, a whole lot of American voters are sensing the same thing – or something very close to it.

Storm Center: J.D. Gordon Takes Charge as Herman Cain Communications Director

Robert Stacy McCain brings us up to date on the surging, growing by leaps and bounds, Herman Cain campaign.

Saturday, I was the first to report that former Pentagon spokesman J.D. Gordon was taking over as de facto press secretary in the wake of Ellen Carmichael’s resignation. Today, I had my first phone interview with Commander Gordon, USN (Retired) — a career Navy man, like my co-blogger Smitty — and was quite impressed.
If Cain is going all the way, he needs to staff up and this is a very good start.

Read the whole thing.

"I like Herman Cain"

From things I got in the e-mail.

Herman Cain is running for president. He’s not a career politician (in fact he has never held political office). He’s known as a pizza guy, but there’s a lot more to him. He’s also a computer guy, a banker guy, and a rocket scientist guy.

Here’s his bio:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics.
• Master’s degree in Computer Science.
• Mathematician for the Navy, where he worked on missile ballistics (making him a rocket scientist).
• Computer systems analyst for Coca-Cola.ENTAL
• VP of Corporate Data Systems and Services for Pillsbury (this is the top of the ladder in the computer world, being in charge of information systems for a major corporation).

All achieved before reaching the age of 35. Since he reached the top of the information systems world, he changed careers!
• Business Manager. Took charge of Pillsbury’s 400 Burger King restaurants in the Philadelphia area, which were the company’s poorest performers in the country. Spent the first nine months learning the business from the ground up, cooking hamburger and yes, cleaning toilets. After three years he had turned them into the company’s best performers.
• Godfather’s Pizza CEO. Was asked by Pillsbury to take charge of their Godfather’s Pizza chain (which was on the verge of bankruptcy). He made it profitable in 14 months.
• In 1988 he led a buyout of the Godfather’s Pizza chain from Pillsbury. He was now the owner of a restaurant chain. Again he reached the top of the ladder of another industry.
• He was also chairman of the National Restaurant Association during this time. This is a group that interacts with government on behalf of the restaurant industry, and it gave him political experience from the non-politician side.
Having reached the top of a second industry, he changed careers again!
• Adviser to the Federal Reserve System. Herman Cain went to work for the Federal Reserve Banking System advising them on how monetary policy changes would affect American businesses.
• Chairman of the Kansas City Federal Reserve Bank. He worked his way up to the chairmanship of a regional Federal Reserve bank. This is only one step below the chairmanship of the entire Federal Reserve System (the top banking position in the country). This position allowed him to see how monetary policy is made from the inside, and understand the political forces that impact the monetary system.
After reaching the top of the banking industry, he changed careers for a fourth time!
• Writer and public speaker. He then started to write and speak on leadership. His books include Speak as a Leader, CEO of Self, Leadership is Common Sense, and They Think You're Stupid.
• Radio Host. Around 2007—after a remarkable 40 year career—he started hosting a radio show on WSB in Atlanta (the largest talk radio station in the country).

He did all this starting from rock bottom (his father was a chauffeur and his mother was a maid). When you add up his accomplishments in his life—including reaching the top of three unrelated industries: information systems, business management, and banking—Herman Cain may have the most impressive resume of anyone that has run for the presidency in the last half century.

Welcome The Other McCain readers. Please look around and if you like what you see, pass the word.

Herman Cain wins Republican Women's Straw Poll

The National Federation of Republican women held a straw poll at their 36th Biennial Convention in Kansas City on Saturday, 10/1/2011. Herman Cain won overwhelmingly with 48.9%.

UPDATE:
  • Cain         48.9%
  • Perry        14.1%
  • Romney   13.3%
  • Gingrich  12.5%
  • Santorum   6.9%
Who is your second choice
  • Cain         23.8%
  • Gingrich  20.8%
  • Perry        15.9%
  • Romney   12.9%
Which candidate is most likely to beat Obama?
  • Cain         31.3%
  • Romney   24.6%
  • Perry        19.4%
  • Santorum    2.0%
More information as spouse reports.

UPDATE:  Supporters of other candidates are now beginning to disparage straw polls.  That's fair, but this straw poll was a little different.  Just keep in mind that while straw polls are not elections, the emergence of Cain is unique. In order to vote in the Republican Women’s poll you had to be a delegate to their convention, unlike straw polls that can bus supporters in. Second, unlike Ron Paul, Cain does not represent a movement like the Libertarians who form voting blocs and can effectively overwhelm straw polls that make Paul look more popular than he is. Third, it takes more than a 75 cent taco to go to the Republican Women’s Convention is Kansas City (take it from me). Women have flown in from all parts of the country at significant expense to be there. Straw polls are not elections, but Cain gave an electrifying, persuasive speech to a cross section of active Republican women and got an overwhelming endorsement. And a final point, Republican women make up a lot of the worker bees during an election, passing out literature, going door to door, manning the polls. That’s why elected Republican officials pay them a lot of attention.   Republican women did not to go to Kansas City to give Herman Cain a win in the straw poll. The fact that he won big was solely due to his ability to convince the delegates that he was the one they wanted for President. That’s big.

Authentically Black!

Authentically Black!

The answer to the question: what is Herman Cain and not Barack Obama?

In 2008 the Democrats nominated their version of a “black man:” a Harvard grad born in Hawaii to a white woman, and raised by his white grandmother. He was their “great black hope” … in the words of Joe Biden: “clean and articulate.” A chimera, a foolish fantasy, who’s primary tool for advancement is acting as a blank screen for weak minded people who wanted to see their own desires reflected back at them.

Stepping straight out of the pages of GQ Magazine, with a brilliant smile and perfectly creased pants, he made a thrill run up their legs. He was the made-for-media candidate complete with Hollywood sets, fake Styrofoam columns and fainting fans. In the other corner you had a fading war hero whose primary constituency, the MSM, enlisted in Obama’s army. It’s not really fair to say they abandoned McCain because their support was always intended to make him the Republican candidate and then to  eviscerated him during the election. McCain, not the sharpest tool in the shed, never knew what hit him.

It would be fascinating to see how a Herman Cain vs. Barack Obama election campaign would change the American electoral map. Most specifically, how would the Black community voting patterns change? Their economic situation has gotten much, much worse. Obama has appointed many black officials, but these have been of “The talented tenth” variety. For example, Obama recently nominated the black publisher of the Virginian Pilot, Maurice Jones, to be Deputy Secretary of HUD. He has done nothing for the woman who works the checkout register at the local cafeteria telling each customer to “have a blessed day.”

Would Herman Cain resonate with the average black man or woman if they had to choose between the Liberal’s dream of a black man and a real black man? One eats arugula and one made pizza. One went to Harvard and the other to Morehouse.

I know how I and lots of my friends are going to vote. It’s “ABO” (anyone but Obama). The interesting question is how the black vote will split because without the black vote Obama doesn’t have that checkout lady’s prayer.
