Obama Blames Libya and Syria on British PM David Cameron

Nothing is ever his fault.

Barack Obama has sharply criticised David Cameron for the UK’s role in allowing Libya to become a “shit show” after the fall of the dictator Muammar Gaddafi, in an unprecedented attack on a British leader by a serving US President.

Mr Obama said that following a successful military intervention to aid rebels during the 2011 Arab Spring revolt, Libya was left to spiral out of control – due largely to the inaction of America’s European allies.

In a candid US magazine interview, Mr Obama said: “When I go back and I ask myself what went wrong… there’s room for criticism, because I had more faith in the Europeans, given Libya’s proximity, being invested in the follow-up.”

His part of the plan went great. Qaddafi was killed. That's when the plan came apart because Barack's problem is that he trusted the Europeans too much.  Don't be surprised if he ends up blaming Benghazi on Cameron.

And then there's his Syrian Red Line. Poor Barack could not make good on his treat because of the British:

Mr Obama also said Mr Cameron’s failures had affected his decision not to enforce a “red line” over President Bashar al-Assad’s use of chemical weapons during the Syrian civil war. The President had planned a strike against Assad’s forces in August 2013, following a deadly sarin gas attack by the regime on civilians in a Damascus suburb. The strike was called off at the 11th hour. One “major factor” in the decision, the President said, “was the failure of Cameron to obtain the consent of his Parliament” for military action.

The only surprise in this list of blame-shifting is that he didn't blame George Bush.

Muslims threw Christians overboard during Med voyage

ROME (AP) — Italy's migration crisis took on a deadly new twist Thursday as police in Sicily reported that Muslim migrants had thrown 12 Christians overboard during a recent crossing from Libya, and an aid group said another 41 were feared drowned in a separate incident.

Palermo police said they had detained 15 people suspected in the high seas assault, which they learned of while interviewing tearful survivors from Nigeria and Ghana who had arrived in Palermo Wednesday morning after being rescued at sea by the ship Ellensborg.

The 15 were accused of multiple homicide aggravated by religious hatred, police said in a statement.

The survivors said they had boarded a rubber boat April 14 on the Libyan coast with 105 passengers aboard, part of the wave of migrants taking advantage of calm seas and warm weather to make the risky crossing from Libya, where most smuggling operations originate.

During the crossing, the migrants from Nigeria and Ghana — believed to be Christians — were threatened with being abandoned at sea by some 15 other passengers from the Ivory Coast, Senegal, Mali and Guinea Bissau.

Eventually the threat was carried out and 12 were pushed overboard. The statement said the motive was that the victims "professed the Christian faith while the aggressors were Muslim."

I could have sworn that Garry Trudeau just explained that Muslims were an oppressed minority.

Don't go to war with the President we have

There were news reports yesterday that there was going to be an attack by American, Iraqi and Kurdish forces on ISIS in Mosul.  The attack is scheduled for a month or two or three from now: April, May or possibly later.

Please don't.

This is a disaster waiting to happen.  Forget the reasons given for telegraphing our intentions months ahead of time.   They make no logical sense.  

What will happen is that the ISIS forces will have months to prepare, to reinforce, to dig in, to booby trap ... in other words to create a killing field.  And it will get quite a few Iranians, Kurds and Americans killed.

You can be sure that the hard core of the attack will be American troops, probably Marines.

In small numbers without heavy equipment.

Mosul has a population of over a million civilians.  Fighting will be house-to-house.

There will be rules of engagement that will get more of our troops killed .... or prosecuted for war crimes.  Take your pick.

Small enough to insure defeat, big enough to create a media meme.  Like Tet, which was a military disaster for the North Vietnamese.  But transformed by the media into an American military disaster, proof that we were losing.

It can have the effect of destroying American military morale as Viet Nam did.

The Left will say that Conservatives are demanding a forceful military response.  Some are.  People like John McCain - a Republican but not a conservative - have been demanding all kinds of very forceful military action.

But count me among a growing number of people who are not.  "Be careful what you wish for" is wise advice.  We knuckle dragging Neanderthals have seen how well Obama has handled Iraq, Iran, Libya, Yemen, and Afghanistan.  He reset our relations with Russia so well that Putin is swallowing Ukraine and there is now talk of war in Europe.  

His team dithered in a failed attempt to rescue hostages that missed by a few days; perhaps hours. Susan Rice - she who blamed a video for the Benghazi attack - claimed it wasn't Obama's fault.  “It can’t happen any faster than that . . . particularly given the complexity of the risk” she claimed.  Who are you gonna believe, known liar Susan Rice or the Pentagon spokesman who said it took a week from the time they sent a plan to the White House until the rescue attempt was made.

It should be crystal clear by now that Obama likes to micro-manage the military, even to the point of picking the victims of drone strikes.

“He is determined that he will make these decisions about how far and wide these operations will go,” said Thomas E. Donilon, his national security adviser. “His view is that he’s responsible for the position of the United States in the world.” He added, “He’s determined to keep the tether pretty short.”

This is reminiscent of Lyndon Johnson's management of the war in Viet Nam, where he picked the bombing targets.  That did not turn out well.  Wars are not won by politicians, especially politicians taking half-measures.  Compared to Obama, Johnson was W.T. Sherman who said "war is hell."  For Obama, war is icky.  The fastest way to end a war is to lose.  The president who doesn't "love America" (he may not even like America) could lose us another war.

No thanks.  No Mosul attack with Commander in Chief Obama in charge.  Let's pretend to do something but never really do it.  Let General Obama drone on.  Set up Facebook sites calling random terrorists bad names, without naming their religious affiliation.  

If Obama starts feeling belligerent, unleash the hash-tags of war.  Then pray.

What Obama Told Hillary the night of the Benghazi attack

She had no doubt that a terrorist attack had been launched against America on the anniversary of 9/11. However, when Hillary picked up the phone and heard Obama’s voice, she learned the president had other ideas in mind. With less than two months before Election Day, he was still boasting that he had al Qaeda on the run.

If the truth about Benghazi became known, it would blow that argument out of the water.

“Hillary was stunned when she heard the president talk about the Benghazi attack,” one of her top legal advisers said in an interview. “Obama wanted her to say that the attack had been a spontaneous demonstration triggered by an obscure video on the Internet that demeaned the Prophet Mohammed.”

Running away from the sound of the guns

Someone at the highest level of the United States government made the decision to abandon the American consular staff In Benghazi to their fate. Democrats in and out of the media don’t think it’s worth talking about.

Two incredibly brave men, Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods fought for hours before they were killed, waiting for the cavalry to arrive. But Team Obama decided not to send help. And the desire to find out who made this decision is ridiculed by Liberals. They think the death of brave men who Obama turned his back on is a joke, giggling at “Benghazi.” Apparently nobody but the rubes who watch Fox News care while the Reality Based Community™ thinks it’s a hoot that a movie maker in Los Angeles got blamed. Ha, ha. It’s a reflection of the morality of Obama’s enablers that so many think it’s a laughing matter and uncovering the truth is a partisan issue.

The President knew within half an hour what was going on and who was involved, but he disappeared and somebody came up with a ridiculous cover story that the media bought hook, line and sinker. Not because it made sense, but because they wanted to.

The official explanation why no help was sent was because there was no time. But this was an attack, not a hockey game lasting 60 minutes. Even if help had not arrived in time to save our men, at least it could have prevented the attackers from swanking around the ruins of the embassy, showing how they humiliated the “great Satan.”

So who made the decision not to send help and why? Does it make the claim that al Qaida is decimated questionable? Were these men left to die because sending the military would make the Obama narrative unhelpful? That’s a coldness that would make Putin proud.

It didn’t take long for the Smart Diplomacy crowd to throw away Ronald Reagan’s victory in the Cold War.

All anyone can hope for now is that they don’t go all the way back and throw away FDR’s victory in World War 2.

A repeat of Jimmy Carter's failures would now be a major victory for Team Obama.

The pace of catastrophe has been so rapid that rather than taking decades, history is returning a verdict on the Obama administration in just months. Things aren’t working out as planned. As Obama’s biographer pithily put it “the world seems to disappoint him”. All that is left to the former van drivers and pitchmen turned national security wonks now is denial. “The Obama administration and House Democrats said Monday they were undecided about whether to take part in or boycott an election-year investigation by Republicans into the Benghazi attack that killed four Americans.”

But the Hope and Change brigade put altogether too much store in spin and PR to overcome hard reality — and reality won.

The fact that he famously chicken-hearted risk-adverse Speaker has actually appointed a special committee should tell you that the Beltway boys know a lot more than has so far been revealed and that Benghazi is a bigger effing deal, and that the MSM has not been able to bury this pile of manure.

Connecting the dots: Boko Haram, Islam, Christianity, Libya, Slavery, Rape, "Kinetic Action"

It's an inconvenient fact that this Islmaist group has already sold some of the girls into sex slavery or as ‘brides’ for just £8, as approved in the Koran.

But then news coverage of the schoolgirl’s abduction has for the most part portrayed the Boko Haram without context. To add any sort of context to the accounts of abductions, instructions from Allah, people sold in markets is to raise disturbing questions about things we are taught do not exist. Religious war? Slavery — in Africa? And where on earth do the Boko Haram get their guns and training?

WE have been taught by the American media that these are just lies spread by those radical terrorists in the Tea Party. We have Harry Reid's word on it: "all lies."

Such context as we get are instructions not to seek context lest they inflame us. The Toronto Star has an article arguing that “Boko Haram does not represent Islam,” as if the crime were against Islam with a world-religion itself as victim. “The group responsible for the kidnapping rampage in Nigeria has hijacked a whole faith, steering the public discourse on Islam.” But that raises even more questions. Such as: what group could possibly hijack a religion of hundreds of millions? Al-Qaeda, you say? But isn’t al-Qaeda’s dead?

It appears that the weapons that this faction of Islam uses comes from Libya, the country we "liberated" via "Kinetic Action." Good job, Barry.

Obama's Greatest Achievement - Re-Establishing the Soviet Union

People who see the world through the lens of domestic politics label ObamaCare as Barack Obama’s signature achievement. They are wrong. Obama has had a much greater, and more ominous achievement in the geopolitical arena.  What did Obama really have in mind when he told Medvedev that after his re-election he would have greater flexibility?  

As he assumed office, the world was uni-polar and the US was the sole superpower. Five years into his Presidency, Iraq is reverting to sectarian warfare and becoming an Iranian client state. Afghanistan is slipping away as fast as American troops are leaving. Egypt was taken over by the Muslim Brotherhood and is now a military dictatorship making eyes at Moscow. Libya is a movie set in which it’s dictator is overthrown, Americans are murdered, armed al Qaida bands rule the streets and there is no a functioning government. Iran is developing nuclear weapons and delivery systems. Al Qaida has a mass meeting in Yemen and has to release a video to let the CIA know. Israel, having decided that American guarantees under Obama are worse than worthless, has decided to go its own way, exhibiting a healthy example of clear-sightedness.

Meanwhile, Vladimir Putin is as busy as a boy with Legos, reassembling the Soviet Union to the cheers of his fellow countrymen who felt humiliated by the dissolution of the Evil Empire under Reagan and Bush.

In a column that set the tone for both commentaries and blogposts, the conservative journalist Ulyana Skoibeda raved two weeks ago that after the return of Crimea “I no longer live in a conquered country”. In a long lament that reflects the feelings frequently expressed by ordinary Russians, she described the past 23 years as humiliating. Ms Skoibeda said her life had been dominated by western norms, and she had had to suffer through the chaos and deprivation unleashed by the democratic and economic experiments of the 1990s.

Standing proudly against the entire world had revived the essence of the Soviet Union, she wrote. “It is not Crimea that has returned. We have returned. Home. To the USSR.”

Since the Crimea annexation, there have been frequent moves that symbolise a Soviet revival.

The American health care system can be fixed and improved as soon as the ideologues who demand that the government run everything are removed from office. The real problem, one that may have mass death and war as one of its possible outcomes, is the deliberate destruction of the Pax Americana that followed the collapse of the Soviet Union. Whether that is by accident or design is uncertain, but the fact is indisputable.

That is Obama’s real legacy.

The Stupid Party

You have to give credit where credit is due: Obama lies like a champ and can change the subject like the best of them.  Note his insistence that there is not one bit of scandal surrounding the IRS harassment of conservative groups. 

When the Democrats in and out of the media gin up their propaganda campaign and manage to turn a traffic jam in Ft. Lee into a national scandal, Republicans and the conservative talking heads rub their chins, feign concern and join in.  The response should be "f**k you."

In a criminal effort to deny Americans their second amendment right to bear arms, our government has deliberately and illegally exported arms to ruthless Mexican and Central American drug cartels, which have used them to kill hundreds of people including two US federal agents. That same government then sought to blame those weapon exports on law-abiding American gun stores and gun shows. Once neutral agencies of government, such as the IRS, the FBI, the EPA, and hordes of prosecutors target and suppress dissent and discredit opponents.

Wherever one looks in the world, our foreign policy and intelligence operations are in tatters. We have alienated life-long friends such as the UK, Canada, Australia, Japan, and Israel, and have reduced the scope, reach and credibility of American power, e.g., note the disasters underway in Latin America, Libya, Egypt, Iran, and Iraq. Our intelligence agencies are used more to spy on Americans than to counter the real threats we face from Muslim jihadis, and resurgent Chinese and Russian nationalisms. Our President lies about it all.

The political environment for the opposition is a target-rich one. The Republicans should be rejoicing at the prospect of a clean sweep in November's mid-term elections and the Presidential ones in 2016. Instead GOP leaders engage in attacks on Tea Party activists--who have been consistently right on policy issues, by the way--and let the Democrats set the agenda and tell us what is and is not open for discussion. Bengahzi, IRS, EPA Solyndra, Fast and Furious, those are all phony scandals; what we must discuss is whether Governor Christie knew about, allowed, or ordered the closing of two lanes of traffic on the George Washington Bridge to punish a political opponent in Ft. Lee, New Jersey.

The Dems have learned how to create phony scandals and the Stupid Party goes along.

Although Gov. Christie has apologized for “unwittingly” misleading the public, calling the bridge closing “embarrassing and humiliating,” his staffers have nevertheless filed a complaint with the justice department, calling for an FBI investigation. Christie spokesman Collin Reed read a brief statement to reporters.

“The information, the best information and the best assessment we have today is that in fact these were not preplanned, premeditated lane closings. That what happened was a spontaneous reaction to a vile and despicable film that pokes fun at the prophet Mohammad. Let me state very clearly and I hope it is obvious, that the New Jersey Governor’s office had absolutely nothing to do with this insensitive video. We absolutely reject its content and message and call for the immediate investigation of its filmmaker.”

After attending a fundraiser at Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein’s Malibu home today, President Obama was asked by reporters to comment on the latest news out of New Jersey.

U.S. Seeking al Qaeda Terrorist Linked to Benghazi Attack

The identification of Jamal as an al Qaeda member linked to the Benghazi attack contradicts a recent New York Times investigative report that concluded there was no evidence al Qaeda or foreign terrorists were behind the Benghazi attack that is currently the subject of several congressional inquiries.

The decks will; need a lot more clearing if the NY Slimes intends to make it easier for Hillary! to ascend to the throne.

But the history of smears and cover-ups by the Left teaches us that if we think that just because the first time a lie is uttered - and it's an obvious lie - that it does not need rebuttal, quickly and often until the one who lied is beaten to a veritable pulp. The Left has done a relentless job of driving serious examination of scandals like Fast and Furious, the IRS and the Tea Party, Benghazi the lies surrounding Obamacare and many others and making an examination of them out-of-bounds. Unless there is a drumbeat to counter the Times' lies, it will soon become accepted that Benghazi was, just like Obama and Clinton lied initially, a demonstration that goes out of hand caused by a video.

Sharyl Attkisson Spotlights Benghazi Inquiry; First On-Air Report in Over 4 Months

On Monday's CBS This Morning, Sharyl Attkisson pointed out the "potential conflict of interest" in the ongoing controversy over the Islamist attack on the U.S. compound in Benghazi, Libya. Attkisson detailed how congressional Republican are scrutinizing Undersecretary of State Patrick Kennedy's involvement in naming staff to the Accountability Review Board, even as it was investigating his role in the lead-up to the September 11, 2012 attack.

Just as it's easy to win an election if you get to count the ballots, it's easy to create a cover-up if you get to appoint the ones that perform the cover-up.

Oh, and those Benghazi survivors?
