Air Force for one: Massive military transport plane that usually carries 100 troops picks up US Secretary of State John Kerry to bring him home after he breaks his leg cycling

Thanks to Bud Norman (Break a Leg, John) we had an opportunity to read about how the spindly-legged, 71 year-old John Kerry, was taken back to the US in a C-17 designed to carry 100 troops.

An Air Force C-17 transport aircraft carrying US Secretary of State John Kerry took off from Geneva on Monday

From press reports it seems that the elderly Kerry was accompanied on his ill-fated bike ride by an entourage that included his personal staff, a motorcade, paramedics as well as photographers when he fell on a flat part of his short ride.

What is the Obama Administration going to do about speeding engineers?

SPEED TRAIN OF DEATH

American demands to know!

Practically the first thing out of Democrats - and reporters - mouths even as rescue workers were still pulling bodies out of this wreck were questions about infrastructure spending and blaming Republicans for the crash.

It turns out the crash was caused by excessive speed.  Going over 100 MPH when the speed limit is 50 was the cause of the accident. So why did Barack Obama let the train's engineer speed? Legitimate question, no?

Car plunges from Chesapeake Bay bridge, woman lives

It's a very pretty ride. We just drove over the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. You can see the ships anchored in the bay before they are brought into port. But there are accidents and when there are, there's not much between you and the water.

A woman swam to safety in the Chesapeake Bay Friday night after her car plunged 40 feet off the Bay Bridge following a collision.

At least 4 dead after train crashes into trailer during Texas veterans parade

That's just sad.

A freight train slammed into a parade float carrying wounded veterans on Thursday, killing four people and injuring 17 others as the float tried to get through a West Texas railroad crossing on its way to an honorary banquet, authorities said.

The train was sounding its horn and people were jumping off the decorated flatbed truck before the collision around 4:40 p.m. in Midland, according to witnesses and Union Pacific spokesman Tom Lange. A preliminary investigation indicates the crossing gate and lights were working, Lange said, though he didn't know if the train crew saw the float approaching.
