Antifa rules Portland with the same impunity that the Ku Klux Klan ruled Birmingham in the 1960s

Journalist Andy Ngo after being beaten up by Antifa goons

Andy Ngo is a Portland-based journalist (for Quillette) who has made it his business to document the violence and insanity of Antifa in his city. Today they got him. They beat him up and stole his camera equipment.

One gets the impression that Antifa rules Portland with the same impunity that the Ku Klux Klan ruled Birmingham in the 1960s. Do they actually have police in Portland? Do they have functioning government there?

Let me answer that question.

The Democrats that ran Birmingham and the Democrats who run Portland approve and support violence against people they hate.  And they hate normal people.

Ted Wheeler is the mayor of Portland, a city where the violent far left gets to beat people up with impunity. He's a modern-day Bull Connor.

Do Democrats hate the country?

The Diplomad 2.0 commented on the Democrat debates.

Biden can't keep up, as revealed by the tentative way in which he raised his hand in accord with the others that we should provide "free" medical care for illegal aliens. At times, Biden reminded me of Ted Kennedy when asked why he wanted to become President and couldn't say.

I say all that about Biden while acknowledging that he's the best of the Dem bunch--kinda like when I declare American universities junk but the world's best . . . junk. The others range from absolute delusional morons to crazy Communists. Any one of them would make Carter and Obama look like great and patriotic presidents. Biden, at least, doesn't seem to hate the country: A low bar, but one that the other candidates can't seem to clear--they seem auditioning for the CPUSA Chairmanship.

If, per America's founders, a republic presupposes virtue; whatever it is we are now presupposes a lack of it.

Mark Steyn:

But Boris [Johnson] in a certain sense is taking Trump to the next level - that, as the bounds of acceptable politics have become ever narrower and more constrained, only a certain size of personality can bust through them, and thus in such a world a low moral character is not faute de mieux but vital and necessary - at least if you're serious about screwing over the EU commissars. If, per America's founders, a republic presupposes virtue; whatever it is we are now presupposes a lack of it.

Trump is president and Boris is within grasp of Downing Street because regular life-sized conventional politics has failed. The "Trump Derangement Syndrome" types are missing the point: he's their creation. Enough of the electorate has concluded that a choice between Woke-fevered Democrats and Koch-funded Republicans is insufficient...

If respectable politicians are forbidden to raise certain subjects, the voters will turn to unrespectable ones. The people are telling their rulers something important here. The longer the ruling class - in Washington, London, Paris and elsewhere - refuse to listen, the worse it is going to be...

Trump - and Boris Johnson - are where they are because they are outsize characters who will not be bound by the Lilliputian bastards on the Left who have so angered normal people that they are willing, eager even, to find a way of kicking the Left Wing Fascists in the nuts.

History repeats itself, first as farce, then as political debate.

It was not that many years ago that men wanting to be women and having babies was a joke. Today if you say men can't have babies Democrats will stone you.

Jews are being driven out of Europe.  Read the whole thing.

Judenrein Europe

In his earliest speeches Adolf Hitler made clear that his primary mission was to make Germany, and then all Europe, judenrein—free of Jews. He failed only because of the Allied victory but today, slowly, inexorably and, for the most part, legally and largely unconsciously, Europe is fulfilling the Nazi aspiration. ...

Progressives and the media prefer to blame anti-Semitism primarily on Europe’s deplorables, but the far right does not constitute the only, or even the primary threat, to European Jews. A detailed survey from the University of Oslo found that in Scandinavia, Germany, Britain, and France, most anti-Semitic violence comes from Muslims, including recent immigrants. Similarly a poll of European Jews found the majority of incidents of anti-Semitism came from either Muslims or from the left; barely 13% traced it to right-wingers. Violence against Jews is worst in places like the migrant dominated suburbs of Paris or Malmo in Sweden.

In the US, Jew hatred is centered in the Left and the Democrat party and in Academia.

I didn't realize it wasn't a dip.

I've finally arrived and killing it.

Woke Fascism

Tucker Carlson and Neil Patel:

How do you know if you're living in a free society? Here's a quick test: Are you allowed to say obviously true things in public? Or are you forced to lie? As George Orwell put it in "1984": "Freedom is the freedom to say that two plus two make four. If that is granted, all else follows." But what if that freedom isn't granted? What if you're required to repeat things that you know aren't true? What if everyone who hears you knows perfectly well that you're lying, but they can't say so out loud? What if everyone is required to nod along in mock sincerity as if it's all completely real? That's what a pep rally in a police state looks like: "Thanks to the dear leader for a bountiful potato harvest!" they chant, even as they starve to death. You get the same feeling as you watch the current race for the Democratic nomination.

How many thoughts are you not allowed to express without the Left condemning you for "Wrongthink"?
The question is whether you want to live in a country where such people have political power, where humor and dissent are criminal acts, where lying is the currency of public life, where authorities whose names you don't know can destroy you for thinking the wrong things. You've seen that world before. It's called Twitter. Imagine if it had control of the U.S. military.

2 out of 3 "hate crimes" are hoaxes

As white America becomes less and less racist and anything short of admiration for LBTGQ individuals leaves one open to instant termination, the Left needs to invent more and more hoaxes to keep the narrative alive. Jussie Smollett is just the latest and most flamboyant example of a hoax that touched all the bases: race, sex, and politics.

Mr. Reilly is a professor of political science at Kentucky State University, and his interest in hate crimes dates to his graduate-school days, when he became aware of several widely reported incidents in the vicinity of his hometown that turned out to be fake. In 2012 a popular gay bar in suburban Chicago was destroyed by fire, and the owner cited homophobia as the reason. The same year, black students at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside reported death threats from hate groups and found a noose hanging from a dorm room door. Ultimately, the owner of the bar pleaded guilty to arson and insurance fraud. And a black student at the university fessed up to sending racist threats and planting a noose....

Reilly eventually compiled a database of 346 hate-crime allegations and determined that less than a third were genuine. Turning his attention to the hoaxes, he put together a data set of more than 400 confirmed cases of fake allegations that were reported to authorities between 2010 and 2017. He allows that the exact number of false reports is probably unknowable, but what can be said “with absolute confidence is that the actual number of hate crime hoaxes is indisputably large,” he writes. “We are not speaking here of just a few bad apples.”

AOC Weeps Over Empty Parking Lot

Here's how AOC, the press that covers her and the images they show ... lie to you right in your face.

Here's the image they want you to see:

Your imagination fills in the rest.

But here's the picture from another angle

Note carefully how the photographer chooses his angle and carefully avoids showing that AOC is just looking at a fence next to a parking lot. This picture is a lie, it's propaganda and it's how the Left lies to you. Blatantly. In. Your. Face. Lies.

Peggy Noonan still doesn't get it - and likely never will

Peggy Noonan's latest column in the Wall Street Journal
But it is a weakness of Trump supporters now that they still cannot take seriously the unreadiness of the White House for a sudden, immediate and high-stakes crisis. They do not see the chaos and the lack of professionalism of the unstaffed government as a danger. It is, a dreadful one.

This is the glaring defect that Peggy fails to see.  It’s not just that the people who govern America don’t care about the people in the country.  It’s that the ruling class has done such a piss poor job of governing.

They don’t realize that they have done a terrible job because they are doing really, really well for themselves.  In that, they resemble the oligarchs and dictators who rule in places like Cuba and Venezuela.  They are fat, happy and rich while their people go dumpster diving for food.

Americans living in places away from the metropolitan areas on both coasts are not yet in the same shape as Venezuelans, but they have seen their jobs and dreams escaping thanks to the plans and policies of the ruling class who exported their jobs to third world countries and their dreams for their children buried under piles of college loan debt that did not provide the future they were promised.

Hillary Clinton warned of fascism coming to America during an alumnae event at her alma mater, Wellesley College.

Not a parody!

After posting a number of Babylon Bee parodies, this one read exactly like it would have been written by a parody writer trying to make Hillary Clinton appear deranged.

“I think Madeline [Albright]'s book is really well-named: "Fascism: A Warning," Clinton said. “And the idea that 'oh, it can’t happen here' is just old-fashioned, my friends.”

“The demagoguery, the appeal to the crowd, the very clever use of symbols, the intimidation, verbal and physical,” she listed, “this is a classic pattern. There is nothing new about it, it's just different means of messages being delivered."

Clinton mentioned fascist dictators Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini and, although she never explicitly used Trump’s name, she referenced him quite frequently during her speech and repeated a few accusations against him, including Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election and obstruction of justice.

"I think with the rapidity with which information can be conveyed today because of the internet, it is an even more dangerous set of circumstances..." Clinton said, seemingly comparing Trump's America to Hitler's Germany and Mussolini's Italy.

Biden reaches 'across the aisle" to segregationists in his own party

At a New York City fundraiser Tuesday night, Biden told donors he has reached across the aisle throughout his career. "I was in a caucus with James O. Eastland," Biden said, according to a pool report. "He never called me 'boy'; he always called me 'son.' "

Joe's buddy Eastland didn't hide his feelings, according to  NPR

Eastland represented Mississippi in the Senate for decades. He decried integration in public schools, the military and elsewhere and was a staunch opponent of civil rights legislation.

At the height of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.'s landmark Montgomery bus boycott, Eastland told a segregationist rally that "In every stage of the bus boycott we have been oppressed and degraded because of black, slimy, juicy, unbearably stinking n*****s." According to Robert Caro's Master Of The Senate, Eastland went on to urge the crowd to "abolish the Negro race" with "guns, bows and arrows, slingshots, and knives."

Recall that Biden told a Black crowd that Republicans would "put y'all back in chains."
Giving new meaning to bipartisanship.

Oberlin's insane defense of trying to destroy a local bakery

David Bernstein -

Here’s Oberlin’s litigation position, from its court filings: “Gibson bakery’s archaic chase-and-detain policy regarding suspected shoplifters was the catalyst for the protests. The guilt or innocence of the students is irrelevant to both the root cause of the protests and this litigation.” Get that? Whether the students accused of shoplifting had actually been shoplifting or not was irrelevant to whether it was fair to accuse the store of racism etc for detaining the students as shoplifters. The fault lay with the bakery owners for daring to actually stop and prosecute shoplifters!

This is the kind of b.s. that gets you A’s at Oberlin with a certain type of SJW professor, but that normal people rightly think defies common sense.

Terrorism-Linked CAIR Forces U.S. Army War College to Capitulate on Raymond Ibrahim's Islam Lecture

The U.S. Army War College (USAWC) has just surrendered to the demands of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR)—an “unindicted co-conspirator,” to quote the U.S. Dept. of Justice, in the largest terror funding case in American history, and a designated “terrorist organization” for nations such as the UAE.

House Democrats Draft Legislation That Would Make It A Hate Crime To Eat At Chick-Fil-A

From the Babylon Bee (satire, but is it really?)

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Under intense pressure from their left-leaning constituents to do something about the dangerous, Christian-founded restaurant chain, Democrats in the House of Representatives unveiled legislation Tuesday that would make it a hate crime to eat at Chick-fil-A.

The CFAHATE Act Of 2018 would make it a hate crime punishable by federal law to dine at the restaurant or use its drive-thru, with extra punishments for people who post that they’re eating at the restaurant on their social media accounts. The legislation would also impose heftier penalties for anyone who patronizes the extremist hate group’s chicken sandwich establishments during Pride Month.

And this really happened:

Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey posted that he was eating at Chick-fil-A on his Twitter account over the weekend, and was later forced to apologize after weathering severe criticism by progressives.

Ocasio-Cortez: 'Everyone's Pay Should Be Equal, But My Pay Should Be More Equal Than Others''

Donkey Chompers

From the Babylon Bee (satire, but is it really?)

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Speaking to reporters after coming out in support of pay raises for herself and her fellow congresspeople, Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said she believes everyone's pay should be equal, but that her and her colleagues' pay should be "more equal" than everybody else's.

"I campaigned on equality and lifting up the poor and bringing down the rich," she said. "But after a few months in Washington, it's clear to me now that we need to shift my campaign rhetoric a bit."

She then held up a chart that had her core values on it and crossed out "Everyone's pay should be equal" and replaced it with "Everyone's pay should be equal, but my pay should be more equal than others.'" The representative began leading her supporters gathered in a chant: "Regular Americans good, politicians better! Regular Americans good, politicians better!"

And the reporters looked from Ocasio-Cortez to the other corrupt politicians nearby, and from the other politicians to Ocasio-Cortez again, but already it was impossible to say which was which.
