The wrong way to handle Leftist terror

 A group of Christians in Portland Oregon decide to hold a prayer event in a waterfront park.

If you wondered what it looked like when Nazi brown shirts went after the churches in Germany, wonder no more: It probably looked like Portland on Saturday, when black bloc-outfitted antifa thugs burst into a waterfront prayer event featuring persecuted Canadian Pastor Artur Pawlowski. The terrorists sprayed those gathered, including toddlers, with chemicals and lobbed IEDs.

“Where is your God, now?” taunted one of the attackers.

It went about as expected.  the Christians, including women and young children, were routed.

At some point, it has to occur to Conservatives that they are not going to get support from politicized police departments or public officials.  

When is it going to occur to people on our side that setting yourself up as punching bags does nothing at this point?  We know that Antifa is an organized group of thugs who like to beat us up.  We know that the political authorities are objectively on their side.  We know that the news media support them, attacking us and covering up their violence.  Videos of Leftist violence, whether it's an Antifa attack or a BLM riot is no longer news, it's part of the background noise of America run by Democrats and the Uniparty Republicans.  

Frankly, seeing videos of Conservative Christians getting beaten by Antifa does not get my blood boiling.  It's dispiriting.  It's a lesson in doing it wrong.  Christians are often told to ask "What would Jesus do? (WWJD)?  

Here's a news flash: we are not Jesus.  Jesus had to die to fulfill his earthly mission.  His objective was to die on a cross on Calvary, in expiation for the sins of the world.  Because you're not Jesus, getting beaten even dying has no effect in wiping away mankind's sin.  And it certainly will not defeat Antifa.       

Here's something that will: people who are bigger, stronger and tougher than Antifa.  Antifa are bullies who have, up to now, been busy stealing your lunch money and giving you a black eye if you resisted, just like in school.  

They dress in black, wear masks, throw fireworks, deploy umbrellas and use bear spray.   These are not powerful weapons.  They only work against those who will not fight back: police after being told the "stand down" or those who think that getting their rout recorded on Twitter videos is winning.

Anyone can wear a mask; in fact, the Biden administration urging everyone to wear masks so our side should be masked.  Even better, wear a gas mask.  Umbrellas are easy to defeat; carry what pre-industrial armies held: spears. Long poles with sharp ends rip through umbrellas like they are not even there.  A flick of the wrist and the umbrella is gone.  Fireworks?  How about sparklers in close-up encounters?   Tactical vests will cushion lots of blows.  Antifa should be the ones calling for police protection, not Christians.  We are the good guys.  We need to act like it.  

When Political Fire Means Failure

The costs of keeping the unwilling onside are even bigger. The American scene is also illuminated by fire of another kind: the incandescent efforts of those who want to return Washington to the 2016 normal over those determined to continue a revolution in the capital. But a political scene lit with the flames of burning personal bridges is less a sign of imminent triumph than with stalemate and retreat....

... the prospects of the liberal project to remake America have declined because an agenda that was once “inevitably” advancing must now be actively imposed on a conscious opposition. The burning of bridges in 2020 means it must now spend enormous amounts of energy for every inch it wants to gain.

The only chance to suppress the populist rebellion cheaply was through something like Crossfire Hurricane. But it failed and now the progressive project is facing what is at best a protracted campaign, a long slow slog that may prove too expensive for even them to mount.

If that enterprise seemed formerly viable it was because it could command enough assent through the application of nudges and prestige to make way. But those powers to persuade have been expended in the bitter acrimony. The prestige well is dry and friction has gone way up. 

The Left owns the press and social media, a combination that lulled a soothed the American public to accept the inevitability of the transformation of America to socialism.  That's where Obama's inevitable "arc of history" was supposed to lead.  

 But the excesses of the last 4 years have so damaged their power to define a reality that today roughly half of the American people don't believe anything they read.  They now know they have been lied to and have their opinions suppressed by power brokers and technology oligarchs who were grasping for total power.  

The Antifa/BLM  riots in Portland, Seattle, Minneapolis, Kenosha, and dozens of places throughout the country were naked attempts to intimidate.  People stocking up on guns and ammunition in record numbers are but one reaction to this physical threat.  

It is possible for a minority to rule a passive majority.  It remains to be seen whether the majority has a core of rebels who will make it prohibitively expensive for the Left to cow the country to its will.  

The experiment in freedom for the individual continues.

 A Queens man wanted for allegedly torching a cop car had spray-painted “TOO LATE!” on his wall to taunt the feds — but he didn’t flee fast enough and FBI agents nabbed him anyway, Brooklyn prosecutors said.

Sam Resto was busted at his work Thursday afternoon with a passport in his backpack, and admitted to FBI agents he had planned to flee, prosecutors said.

When agents entered his Elmhurst apartment that night, they were confronted with the scrawled taunt, alongside a drawing of a smiley face with a tongue sticking out.

The provocation backfired.

Prosecutors asked a Brooklyn federal court Friday to order Resto held without bail — and used his intention to flee and the wall taunt to back up their argument that he’s a flight risk.

The judge agreed and ordered Resto held.

Dems starting to panic that voters will blame them for riots

Despite the best efforts of the propaganda media (aka, MSM) to sanitize as “mostly peaceful” violent, property-destroying and federal agent-blinding demonstrations that have engulfed Portland, Seattle, and other cities, the American people are catching on that Antifa is the armed auxiliary street force of the Democrat party, just as the KKK was a century and more ago. 

While the Dems thought that their strategy of making conditions terrible so that voters would throw out the incumbent was sound, it turns out that the availability of dramatic footage of real violence on social media has put the lie to the media coverups.

Tucker Carlson, the highest rated host in cable news history, regularly calls the rioters “Biden voters,” and that is an easier sale to the public than Nadler’s fantasy [he called the riots a myth].

The Democrats, including the Biden campaign, are riding a tiger. If they attempt to dismount, they will be eaten by the tiger, as Libby Schaaf [Mayor of Oakland CA} discovered. ... the hysterically angry rioters, many of them white, college-educated women in their twenties, could turn on Biden as with ample ammunition from his past career befriending KKK Kleagle Robert Byrd and enriching his family with his political connections.

Thiessen was a former Marine and served as a police officer in the City of Fairfax from 1990 until his retirement in 2016, and later worked for the Wisconsin Department of Justice Internet Crimes Against Children unit.

It’s unsurprising that so much loud hate from the left leads to crimes of violence against the innocent.

Even if Brennan was misspelled, Occam's razor is beginning to spell "HOAX" correctly. But by and for whom? Here as well we don't know, but again followers of William of Ockham would tend to point you toward the left wing -- a single leftie nutcase or some Antifa types, perhaps. After all, cui bono? With Kavanaugh and the caravan, things were not looking good for the Democrats. The subject had to be changed before it was too late and the blue wave turned red. So far, however, it's not working.

No wonder the reliably left-leaning Chuck Todd is suddenly pointing toward Russia, not some MAGA-hatted redneck with a Confederate flag tattooed on his chest, as the perpetrator. It's a dead giveaway. He's probably hoping for the Russians now. Because if it goes as it's currently looking, it's bad news for his team.

But back to my opening paragraph. In a rational world, this does not matter. Certainly whoever is responsible for this heinous activity should be taken off the streets for life as soon possible for the protection of the public. But their identity and motivation mean very little ultimately. Quite simply, whatever "side" they're on or think they're on -- they're nuts.

In a giant country like ours, simple math tells us there always will be a percentage of truly aberrant individuals on all sides ready to act out. The politically correct thing to say is we should "cool our jets." But, in truth, even if the rhetoric dies down, even if Schumer and Pelosi find it in their hearts to forgive Donald Trump (not likely) or Donald promises to throw away his iPhone, forego Twitter, and invite Rosie O'Donnell to have her wedding free of charge at Mar-a-Lago, it will not change. Such disturbed people will always exist. The Unabomber pre-dated all the contemporary online noise. There's no way around this behavior unless we start controlling our DNA, not an appealing prospect, except perhaps to the late Margaret Sanger.

In a very odd way, this whole event is not news. It's a sideshow.

I'm pretty sure if racism became mainstream among conservatives, the Ruling Caste would say that is therefore an indictment of all conservatives. They would not claim that the rampantness of conservative racism was an excuse for any particular conservative's racist utterances.

And one excuse that can be made for this guy is: "This is just how many, many Social Justice Warriors speak about the opposition now, calling for violence, supporting violence."

So if the left does it, it's now a social norm which we just have to accept as the New Normal.

O'Keefe Catches Antifa 'Fight Instructors' Teaching Activists How To Inflict Pain on Their Targets

File this under "things that you won't see if you get your news from CNN, NBC, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, NY Times or Washington Post. In fact, if your see Antifa thugs hurting people or trying to kill people (as in the case of James Hodgkinson, the BernieBro who tried to kill Steve Scalise) it will be blamed on Trump if it's reported at all.

The instructor also recommended breaking one of the floating ribs to cause maximum pain in a victim. "It's hard to move after that -- to catch a breath," he added helpfully. He told the activists that once the target is incapacitated, they can either run away or "really put a beating on them" if they want to "make it personal."

Our speech is violence, but their violence is speech.

Sorry -- I've been trying to convince people on the right that the only way to fight a double-standard is to finally insist on a single-standard, and impose the same rules on our Ruling Class that they impose on us.

It's not that you guys aren't important -- it's just that most of you already agree.

But there's a contingent on the right that keeps arguing that we must pretend the rule we want is already in force, and can't seem to grasp that the rule we don't want is already in force, but only selectively deployed against us.

See, for example, this solid citizen whose objection to disorganized violence against the right is that it should be more organized so it will be more effective.

But CNN, the Washington Post, and the New York Times will keep writing apologias for leftist violence -- when they bother to even acknowledge it.

Now is not the time to start yelling "Rhetoric doesn't cause violence!" 1, it almost certainly does -- a society that condones thievery will see more thieving, after all -- and 2, we cannot continue living under the "Republican rhetoric only causes violence!" rule.

A bad rule is many times worse when it is only applied against a disfavored caste.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Roger Simon: Baseball Shooter a Big Wake-Up Call for the Left.

This man came from the extreme end of Trump Derangement Syndrome, but he didn’t emerge entirely by himself. He came from a petri dish that we are all submerged in, nurturing hate as never before in most of our lifetimes.

We need look no further than yesterday’s grilling of Jeff Sessions by the Senate Intelligence Committee. This investigation is putatively about Russian interference in our election, but we learned nothing about that. Not a thing. In fact, it was barely mentioned. The entire event was used as a means to “get Trump” and/or his associates. Senators like Heinrich ooze hate, obviously playing to a likeminded crowd. It is indeed a “witch hunt” and any reader ofThe Crucible knows where that leads.

Meanwhile, just this past weekend, here in Los Angeles, we had our annual gay pride celebration. But it didn’t seem to be about pride at all, only about unremitting attacks on our president (and by implication anyone Republican), as if everyone in the streets would have been delighted to see a replay of Kathy Griffin’s nauseating decapitation or the denouement of the current Shakespeare in the Park production where a Trump/Caesar is beheaded nightly. (Ironically, Trump was on record for gay marriage long before Clinton or Obama, but facts mean nothing to the pussy-hatted.)

And then there were the wild accusations of anti-Semitism when nearly half of Trump’s family is Jewish and — as it turned out — of the few such incidents that have occurred since his inauguration none were committed by his supporters. In fact, they all came from the left. This was, of course, barely reported. It didn’t fit the narrative of hate.

And this is to omit the most horrifying examples of all — the absolutely despicable behavior toward conservatives on our campuses. It’s like the return of the Brown Shirts.

Sense a pattern?

With all due respect to Roger Simon, but I'm not convinced that the Left is not all for this.

Kathy Griffin has apologized in a Twitter video after receiving backlash on social media Tuesday about photographs of her holding a bloody decapitated head resembling President Donald Trump.
