The riots and “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice”

The general idea of Goethe’s version of the Sorcerer’s Apprentice is not especially about lies. The message is that we are not wise enough to know what the result of our efforts will ultimately be. When we call forth any powerful forces—inventions, weaponry, politics, laws, theories, artistic creations – they can be used for good or evil and everything in between, and we don’t necessarily have any say in the matter. The same is true if we call forth powerful destructive forces such as mobs, for ends we think we are achieving.

Right now, the “we” is the left (books, the press, the education system, the Democratic Party), and the force that’s been called forth is the Antifa BLM mob. Elected politicians such as a mayor like Ted Wheeler of Portland or Jenny Durkan of Seattle have already glimpsed the army of broomsticks coming towards them to trample them. But this is no cartoon.

In Iran in 1979, the left played footsie with the Ayatollahs, thinking it could use them and that the left would win in the end. History tells us they were wrong. Right now in the US it’s left vs. left – the political, elected left (and the “useful idiot” liberals) versus the more anarchist/nihilist/sociopathic left such as Antifa. The first group is Mickey Mouse (in more ways than one) and the second group the broomsticks.

And the elected left may find that the spirits it has summoned cannot be banished.

USDOT Sued For Failure to Enforce Federal Law and Prevent Highway Protests

Read the article.

After a summer of riots and lawlessness nation-wide you would be forgiven for thinking that there is no law against blocking the highways with a mob.

You would be wrong.

You might also think that there is a plan at work but wonder whose plan it is.

Dems starting to panic that voters will blame them for riots

Despite the best efforts of the propaganda media (aka, MSM) to sanitize as “mostly peaceful” violent, property-destroying and federal agent-blinding demonstrations that have engulfed Portland, Seattle, and other cities, the American people are catching on that Antifa is the armed auxiliary street force of the Democrat party, just as the KKK was a century and more ago.

While the Dems thought that their strategy of making conditions terrible so that voters would throw out the incumbent was sound, it turns out that the availability of dramatic footage of real violence on social media has put the lie to the media coverups.

Tucker Carlson, the highest rated host in cable news history, regularly calls the rioters “Biden voters,” and that is an easier sale to the public than Nadler’s fantasy [he called the riots a myth].

The Democrats, including the Biden campaign, are riding a tiger. If they attempt to dismount, they will be eaten by the tiger, as Libby Schaaf [Mayor of Oakland CA} discovered. ... the hysterically angry rioters, many of them white, college-educated women in their twenties, could turn on Biden as with ample ammunition from his past career befriending KKK Kleagle Robert Byrd and enriching his family with his political connections.

President Trump, to their dismay, has played the riots perfectly, with his administration expressing resolve but refraining from oversteps that would hand a Kent State-like massacre, complete with martyrs

For Republicans, it’s getting dangerous out there

This won't stop even after somebody gets killed.  It's how Democrats roll.
A Tennessee woman, apparently discontent with her congressman’s remarks at a town hall held at the University of Tennessee-Martin, did what any normal, curious and courteous constituent would do to have her followup concerns addressed — she chased his car down, forced him off the road and started screaming and banging on their windows.

She broadcast her violent tantrum on Facebook.

Think about it: Wright was so proud of her behavior that she put it out there for the world to see. She felt no shame; no need to hide her actions.

College campuses are filled with angry, ignorant students influenced by politically progressive and Marxist professors who don’t mind tossing a rock or two at building windows whenever a conservative speaker comes to town. The streets are filled with anarchy-minded individuals who seem to take whatever cause of the day — women’s rights, for example, or climate change — and turn it into a vicious anti-Trump drumbeat that ends with cars ablaze, people injured and general mayhem inflicted....

All this, meanwhile, comes on the heels of an appeal by a Huffington Post editor-at-large for leftists to simply hound those of the pro-Trump camp by following Republican politicians to their places of work, places of dining, places of living, and stand outside and protest and demand answers. Answers to what? Apparently, to why they’re Republicans, refusing to vote Democratic.

But this is the tone and atmosphere of the country right now. And it’s one created and fueled solely by the left. So what’s a good Republican to do to stay safe?

As a former Marxist President once said, punch back twice as hard.

US News calls this man a demonstrator

Jan. 20, 2017 | Washington, D.C.: A demonstrator smashes a Starbucks window using a trash can at 12th and I streets.

Voices outrage over police reaction.

The BBC only found innocent babes were at the receiving end of police action: a "stoop-backed older woman and a man on crutches" and reporters.

Monkey incident sparks clashes in southern Libyan city of Sabha, 16 dead

Liberals preach to us that all religions are the same (and all people who believe in God are deluded).  That there's really no difference between a Baptist, a Jew and a Muslim.  They all pray to the same god.  And that Islam is THE "Religion of Peace."

Unfortunately, reality intrudes.  Which brings us to the story in the headline.

According to residents and local reports, the latest bout of violence erupted between two tribes after an incident in which a monkey that belonged to a shopkeeper from the Gaddadfa tribe attacked a group of schoolgirls who were passing by.

The monkey pulled off one of the girls' head scarf, leading men from the Awlad Suleiman tribe to retaliate by killing three people from the Gaddadfa tribe as well as the monkey, according to a resident who spoke to Reuters.

At this point 16 are dead and over 50 wounded in fighting that included tanks and mortars.  All because a monkey pulled a girl's headscarf off.

I'm not aware of anything that would cause any Baptists and Methodists to go after each other like this.

Anyone?

Missouri Prof Supporter: ‘Bring Back the Guillotine’

Melissa Click's supporters:

The Chronicle of Higher Education sympathetically described what was “surely the worst day of [one University of Missouri journalism professor’s] professional life” — November 9, 2015, when hundreds of outraged viewers emailed her after a viral video showed her calling for “muscle” against a student reporter attempting to cover protests on campus.

But the Chronicle’s summary of Professor Melissa Click’s emails is grossly misleading. It neglects to mention how condemnation of Click’s behavior was not only understandable but appropriate.

It highlights some of the most extreme emails she received as though they were the norm; it describes as “an assortment of angry First Amendment enthusiasts” the scores of current students, alumni, professional journalists, and parents who criticized Click’s call for violence against a student; and it ignores the disturbing radicalism of her supporters.

“Overall, I’m OK with actual violence, like actual political violence,” Rob Rasmussen, who unsuccessfully ran for the city council in Columbia, Mo. (the university’s home), last April, explained to National Review after we contacted him for clarification on his November e-mail of support for Click, in which he wrote that she was “100% in the right.”

Rasmussen continued: “I’m OK — I’d be fine if we brought back the guillotine and cut off the Koch brothers’ heads. That would be OK with me. I think that would be OK.” He added that protesters occupying public spaces should have the right to shut out the media because “with Occupy Wall Street, a lot of us lefties learned that if you give open access to the media, some people with an agenda will try to find people in your camp who will say ridiculous things and make it look like your whole group [supports those stances].”

The Chronicle makes no mention of one racist support email praising Click for “stopping that nasty Asian dude” — student reporter Timothy Tai — “from disrupting your event.” It also neglects to mention a supporter who called Click’s actions “a disservice to both you and to the University” — that is, “of course assuming here that there aren’t circumstances of which I’m [un]aware (e.g., the reporter is from a conservative student newspaper with a history of distortion that rivals Fox News.)”

Click’s supporters “are falling all over themselves to somehow justify her actions,” Scheirbecker says. “Even the Communications Department has said that violence is never an acceptable form of communication — so hearing [of support for Click] from professors around the nation scares me, because I’ve maintained to this point that Melissa Click is a symptom of a much larger, more insidious problem at public universities — and that is, it’s OK to resort to physical violence to combat emotional micro-aggressions, which don’t hurt anybody.”

The Chronicle also fails to mention how, in late December, 115 faculty members from the University of Missouri signed a letter to the administration in support of Click. These misguided professors call Click’s call for “muscle” a “regrettable mistake” and “call upon the University to defend her first amendment rights of protest and her freedom to act as a private citizen,” but they express no dismay at the violated First Amendment rights of student reporters. They also say that “we believe that Click has been wronged in the media by those who have attacked her personally and have called for her dismissal,” failing to mention how the controversy began when Click wronged the media.

What this country needs is more electric shock torture and organ harvesting of prisoners. How about we bring in some more Syrians?

Ann Coulter points out the ridiculous contradictions found in the NY Times.
The media's persistent attempts to paint sympathetic portraits of the Third-Worlders pouring into America are always exercises in self-contradiction.

On one hand, the Times loves to provide lavishly detailed accounts of the atrocities committed on a daily basis in backward countries in order to pull at readers' heartstrings. But then they're shocked when readers don't respond to descriptions of these medieval cultures by saying, What this country needs is more electric shock torture and organ harvesting of prisoners. How about we bring in some more Syrians?

The day after the Times' story about Kamal and his trays of cupcakes and rafts of grievances, the paper ran a front-page story about the "flawed justice" -- that was in the title -- involving a homicidal mob in Afghanistan.

First, the good news: No police officers shot any unarmed black teens. Now, the bad news: A 27-year-old woman, Farkhunda Malikzada, was beaten to death by an enraged mob in Kabul after being falsely accused of burning a Koran.

The Times reports:

"In the videos, Farkhunda seems at first to be screaming in pain from the kicks, but then her body convulses under the blows, and soon she stops moving at all. Even when the mob pulls her into the street and gets a car to run over her, and she is dragged 300 feet, the police stand by.

"By then, she was little more than a clothed mass of blood and bones. Yet still more people came to beat her. One of the most fervent was a young man, Mohammad Yaqoub, who worked at an eyeglasses shop. He heard the crowd as Farkhunda was dragged behind the car and rushed out, eager to join."

Let's get Yaqoub here. He can work at Lens Crafters!
