Babylon Bee: Reality Criticized For Not More Clearly Distinguishing Itself From Satire

 

WORLD—Reality has come under fire for not more clearly distinguishing itself from satire.

Fact-checkers and fake news watchdogs have called on reality to label itself after real news stories insisted on sounding like satire.

Experts proposed forcing real news stories to include labels like [REAL NEWS] in the headline. They could also include parentheticals throughout that read things like "(Just as a reminder, this actually happened and is not satire)." Then, the article could conclude with a notice saying, "What you just read was an actual thing that actually happened."

Babylon Bee continues to kick Snopes when it's down.

Snopes Rolls Out New Opinion Check Feature

It's the Babylon Bee.  It's satire, but is it?

"Just checking facts wasn't enough anymore---now, people are looking to Snopes to be the moral arbiter of which opinions are OK and which ones are not," said a spokesperson for the website. "This has been a long time coming. We've pretty much been doing this all along, but disguising it as a 'fact check.' So now we can just be much more upfront with people about what our intentions are."
