The Washington Post today defended the cartoonist Toles for depicting American soldiers as quadriplegics. This was good. "a cartoonist works best if he or she doesn't feel there's someone breathing over their shoulder."
In the same paper they condemned the cartoons depicting Mohammad as an insult to Islam. According to the Post, this is bad and we must watch over the cartoonists shoulder.
Read the whole thing from Power Line.

I think the Danish ambassador should issue an apology. In the largest Christian church in Saudi Arabia. [ed: there are no Christian churches in Saudi Arabia. They are not allowed]
I will venture to say that the West is being treated with contempt because it has merited scorn. The Muslims have learned -- all too well -- what earns the respect of liberal elite. We should not blame them for wanting deference.
Rather we should ask ourselves why we are not similarly treated.Islam is blameless in this respect: they have upheld their side well. The same can't be said for our cultural leaders who are all too eager to shame, abase and degrade themselves. And now it has come to this.
and...
This is what so many so-called liberals do not understand. The jihad is about THEM, much more so than it is about, say, conservative westerners (e.g. evangelical Christians, etc.). They support the independence of women. They support freedom of speech and of belief. They don't hate homosexuals. They don't kowtow to traditionalism and obsolte social structure. And the jihadists hate that.
