"A smidgen of good news and suddenly everything is doing great. A little bit of bad news and ooohh , we're down on the dumps," Obama said. "And I am obviously an object of this constantly varying assessment. I am the object in chief of this varying assessment."
OK. I feel better now.

What a strange statement from Obama. First, he's evading responsibility for talking down the economy and causing fear. Second, his tone mocks those who are fearful. (What a creep.) Third, what does he mean by his being the 'object' of this varying assessment? That he's being constantly assessed, and he doesn't like it? That people are taking too many cues from him and his administration?
Btw, his language is terrible, too. His English isn't idiomatic: "Everything is doing great" and 'we're down on the dumps" are both botched idioms.
Thanks for your comments. He must not have had his teleprompter working right.
