Intolerance at Cornell: After my Fox News appearance, bullying and threats began. It got so bad I sought counseling.

Shocking, but not shocking at all.  This is American academia.

While I expected disagreement from many Cornellians for my views, I was mentally and emotionally unprepared for the backlash, name calling, and threats to my physical safety.

Some peers called me “hateful” for being critical of the course, even though I never attacked the professor’s character. Others suggested I was bigoted, even though they had never met me.

One threat I received was over Facebook messenger, where someone said that they wanted to hurt me. Considering that Cornell University’s College Republicans president had been physically assaulted right after Trump was elected — shoved to the ground and called a “racist bitch” — threats around here are no joke.

College today is not a place I would recommend to anyone unless you are absolutely sure what you want to do with their life and have an iron will to not be influenced by the closed minded academics that frequent the hallowed halls of ivy. More and more I object to public money being spent at universities whose purpose seems to be to brain wash the 18 and 19 year olds whose parents innocently but proudly send them there so they can brag to their friends about the prestigious schools their children attend.

I see too many people who come away with a mountain of debt and no marketable skill.

There is a need for higher education for certain professions, but the idea that everyone needs a four year liberal arts education to be a well rounded individual is a bunch of baloney. Get yourself a book and read it, that's what Abraham Lincoln did and it worked pretty well for him.
