Headline you won't find in the Virginian Pilot: Leonardo DiCaprio Testifies Obama Received Millions in Stolen CCP Cash From Fugees Founder 'Pras' Michel

 Obama’s ‘Scandal-Free Administration’ Is a Myth.

Actor Leonardo DiCaprio took the stand and testified in the federal trial of Prakazrel “Pras” Michel, founder of the hip hop band Fugees, and his alleged involvement in a money laundering scheme that included a huge — and illegal — donation to Barack Obama’s 2012 re-election campaign.

DiCaprio recalled a conversation with Malaysian financier Jho Low, who mentioned that he was looking to donate millions of dollars to the Obama campaign by giving the money to Michel and having him pass it to Obama’s people.

Fast Facts:

  • Low was sentenced — in absentia — to a 10-year sentence in a Kuwaiti court for his role in laundering roughly $1 billion of the almost $4.5 billion worth of Chinese currency he allegedly swindled in what’s known as the 1Malaysia Development Berhad scandal.
  • Low claimed he wanted to donate between $20-$30 million dollars to Obama.
  • it is illegal for American presidential candidates to accept donations from foreigners.
  • The DOJ charged Low for trying to donate money to lobby the Trump administration, hoping to have the charges against him relating to the 1Malaysia Development Berhad scandal dropped.
  • Low is on the lam and is believed to be hiding in China or Macau. China denies harboring him.

“It was a significant sum, something to the tune of $20-30 million,” DiCaprio testified in court. “I said, ‘Wow that’s a lot of money!’”

Additional witnesses testified that they were wired money from Low and asked to forward it to the Obama campaign.

Michel allegedly took the mad stacks from Low and used them to lobby Obama’s government on behalf of Low and the Chinese Communist Party.

He distributed $21.6 million to American straw donors who would then donate it to the Obama campaign, concealing the fact that the money came from Low.

PETER HITCHENS: One glorious day in Sevastopol 12 years ago, I saw what was coming. That's why I won't join this carnival of hypocrisy

Excerpt; read the whole thing:

I cannot join in it. I know too much. I know that our policy of Nato expansion – which we had promised not to do and which we knew infuriated Russians – played its part in bringing about this crisis.

I know that Ukraine's current government, now treated as if it was almost holy, was brought into being by a mob putsch openly backed by the USA in 2014.

I know that the much-admired President Zelensky in February 2021 closed down three opposition TV stations on the grounds of 'national security'. They went dark that night. I know that the opposition politician Viktor Medvedchuk was put under house arrest last year on a charge of treason. Isn't this the sort of thing Putin does?

I know that Ukraine's army has used severe force against Russian civilians in the Don Basin since 2014. The Russians have done dreadful things there, too, but there are plenty of people who will tell you that. The point is that this is not a contest of saints versus sinners, or of Mordor versus the Shire.

I also find it awkward that, when Britain and the USA rightly denounced Putin's illegal invasion of a sovereign country, they seemed to have forgotten that we gave him the idea, by doing this in Iraq in 2003. Unlike them I can truly claim to have opposed both these actions.

I tire of being told that Nato is purely defensive alliance when we know it bombed Serbia in 1999, incidentally killing civilians, when Serbia had not attacked a Nato member.

I also don't recall Libya attacking a Nato member before that 'defensive' alliance launched the air war on Tripoli which also killed civilians, children included, and turned that country into a cauldron of chaos, benefiting nobody.

And then there's the other thing that sticks in my gullet. The countries of the West have egged Ukraine on into a confrontation with Russia which has predictably ended in Putin's barbaric invasion.

How much of the death, destruction, and suffering is the fault of the American political crooks who got rich using this poor country as their personal piggy bank?

Is Covid-19 a Bioweapon Deliberately Spread by China?

Benjamin Weingarten ponders The US Intel Community’s Odd Case Against COVID-19 as a Bioweapon

The intelligence community (IC) recently declassified the detail backing its predictably inconclusive, highly equivocal analysis of the Chinese coronavirus’s origin. Remarkably, the sole point on which intelligence officials seem confident—that COVID-19 was not a bioweapon, the most disturbing theory of all—is the one on which they provide the thinnest, weakest, and most oddly-approached argument. ..

According to the newly-released analysis, the “IC assesses China did not develop SARS-CoV-2 as a biological weapon.” [To justify this postiion is claims that]

  • ... bioweapon allegations are rooted in “scientifically invalid claims,” and
  • ... that proponents lack “direct access to the Wuhan Institute of Virology,” or
  • ... [proponents]“are suspected of spreading disinformation.”

Two of these three points do not actually refute the claim. They merely call into question the credibility of the claimants. One only counters the claim vaguely

The IC points readers to an annex for further reading wherein the IC, in an apparent bid to bolster its case, combats the argument of a single unnamed Hong Kong virologist, who worked in a WHO-affiliated lab. Said virologist, presumably Dr. Li-meng Yan, contends that the coronavirus was a bioweapon created by Beijing and intentionally released by researchers. Analysts write that this doctor’s view is: “inconsistent with available technical information on coronaviruses … [and] that … [her] articles contain several technical inaccuracies and omit key data points …. The scientific community did not peer review these articles and some publicly rejected the articles’ claims as scientifically unsound.”

It does not rule out the bioweapon theory by addressing the basic questions it ought to have considered such as:

  • Do Chinese authorities have the will and capability to develop and deploy a bioweapon akin to the Chinese coronavirus?
  • Would they have had a motive to develop and deploy one in late 2019?
  • What would the cost-benefit analysis have looked like in the eyes of the ruling communist regime?
  • What direct evidence is there, if any, to suggest or dispel the idea China intentionally created and/or released the coronavirus?

So here are some answers to these questions.

  1. The Chinese actually developed the virus so that answers the question of capability.
  2. They had a motive: to get rid of President Trump, the first modern American President able and willing to stand up to them.
  3. They had every reason to believe that they would find an ally in the American Ruling Class, in the American Media, and the FBI/CIA/DOJ.
  4. In releasing the virus globally, they were able to create pressure to panic Western governments into shutting down their economies as the primary defense against the virus.
  5. They had every reason to believe that leaders in government health agencies like Anthony Fauci would do their utmost to create a false narrative about the origin of the virus to hide the fact that they actually had a hand in funding the research that created the virus.
  6. They knew that many leading corporations, Ruling Class figures, including members of the Biden family, were financially enmeshed in business dealings with the Chinese Communist Party.
  7. They also believed that the US Government would be unwilling to blame China for deliberately spreading Covid because that would be considered an act of war.

They managed to get Biden elected, reversing all of Trump's pro-America and anti-China initiatives.  Biden has fulfilled their fondest dreams, including exacerbating internal dissension in the US where half the country now no longer trusts the government.

Conclusion: their gamble paid off.

Multi-million dollar "advances" to politicians are payoffs; exactly like handing him cash in a brown paper bag.

From Ace:

People expect that a J.K. Rowling book will produce at least $5 million in royalties, so you give her a $5 million advance on those royalties. You're giving her a payment on her royalties in advance of actually seeing those sales.

But you do expect them.

You don't pay her fresh royalties until the royalties she generates exceeds the initial advance on royalties you paid her.

When she makes $5 million and one hundred dollars, you send her a fresh check for one hundred dollars.

When these major media conglomerates, all left-leaning and most with business before the government, give millions to Hillary Clinton and Hunter Biden and Andrew Cuomo, there is no one at that company that expects the books will ever make that much in royalties.

They're just payoffs. Or disguised political donations.

It's not an "advance" if you cannot show a plausible stream of sales which will meet or exceed that "advance."

The publishers are making multi-million dollar political contributions to Leftists and the politicians receiving those advances are accepting bribes.  This is outright political corruption and should be illegal.

No "advances" for serving politicians, declared politicians who are running, or any politician ten years after his term of service ends. They can just take their royalty checks as royalties actually accrue.

The New Republic: Why Would Anyone Pay Andrew Cuomo $4 Million for a Book? Books by politicians sell badly and are quickly forgotten, yet the publishing industry spends shovelfuls of cash on them.

Seven years ago, on the eve of being elected to a second term as governor of New York, Andrew Cuomo completed a rite of passage familiar to all presidential aspirants: He published a memoir, All Things Possible. It is overlong at more than 550 pages, cliché-ridden, and hopelessly dull, which is to say a standard-issue political tome. Cuomo was paid a more than $700,000 advance by HarperCollins, and the book had an announced initial print run of 200,000. But five months after it was published, it had sold just over 3,000 copies in hardcover and 13 audiobooks. Even by the dismal standards of the subgenre of books by politicians, this was a flop—based on a conservative estimate of the governor’s advance, Cuomo earned about $200 for every hardcover sold.

For most authors, a sales track record like this would be the kiss of death. Disastrous debuts are rarely rewarded with lucrative follow-up book deals.  But despite the abysmal failure of All Things Possible, Cuomo published a follow-up, American Crisis: Leadership Lessons from the Pandemic last fall. According to The New York Times, the bidding process for that book “ended with a high offer of more than $4 million,” a figure in line with earlier reporting suggesting that Cuomo had been paid an advance in the low-to-mid seven figures.

But the author pretends ignorance of the obvious:  everyone knows that this was a bribe by a corporation that wanted to give money to a politician they support.  So they gave him a big check, evading the law against political contributions disguised as an "advance," knowing that they would never recover the bribe in royalties.
