Hillary and the Planted Questions. Just One Minute.

The latest Hillarity about planted questions has me wondering what will happen to Hillary after she manages to lose the aura of inevitability. Can either Barack Hussein Il Jong Obama or the Breck Girl win the hearts and minds of a Dem majority and seize the nomination?

Not to be a Gloomy Guss but here is my gloomy guess - in a brawling street fight Hillary will easily re-emerge as the toughest Dem out there and the press will be thrilled to unveil a whole new narrative about the Comeback Queen whose true depths of character and resolve have finally been revealed by the grueling primary process blah, blah, kill me now, and quickly.

Now, I have not fully given in to despair - the press would also be thrilled to tell us how Obama took the high road to victory, thereby teaching us Great Things about the wisdom of the American people and the press that guides them. Edwards backers, however, feel free to despair - no one wants to hear a story about a triumphant middle-aged white opportunist.

You just know that the press will resurrect Hillary! if it becomes necessary. Saint Hillary is too valuable for their purposes to be discarded.

UPDATE: The Secret Plant Life Of Democratic Frontrunners
I know Hillary Clinton sponsored federal funding for the Woodstock Museum, but who knew she took Joni Mitchell's song about the concert so literally? Apparently heeding the lyrical call to "get back to the garden", Hillary's team has plants popping up all over the campaign trail:

For the second time in as many days, Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign has had to deal with accusations of planting questions during public appearances, FOX News has learned.
In a telephone interview Saturday, Geoffrey Mitchell, 32, said he was approached by Clinton campaign worker Chris Hayler to ask a question about how she was standing up to President Bush on the question on funding the Iraq war and a troop withdrawal timeline.

The encounter happened before an event hosted by Iowa State Sen. Gene Frais on a farm outside Fort Madison, Iowa.

Clinton's Iowa campaign confirmed to Fox News that one of its staff discussed questions with Mitchell before her April 2 event, but denied attempting to plant a pro-Clinton question.

Mo Elliethee, spokesman for Clinton's campaign in Iowa, told Fox that Hayler and Mitchell "had a previous relationship" and that a discussion about Clinton arose out of a normal conversation between two people who knew each other well.

Mitchell denies having a previous relationship with Hayler. He claims that the two had never met before that campaign appearance, and that Hayler stopped talking with him when he refused to act as a plant. Instead, Mitchell says that Hayler started asking other people in the area if they would ask the planted question instead. In the end, Hillary ran out of time to take questions at that appearance.

After Fox got the Clinton denial, Mitchell refused to change his story. He told Fox that he stood by every word.
...
It goes beyond the dishonesty, which is bad enough, to how bad could Hillary be that the campaign feels it has to protect us from her.

Hillary supporters: please do not get discouraged. She is getting attacked from all sides because people deep down know she is our only hope for America and they're trying to ruin it for everybody. Hillary is the ONLY candidate with these 4 attributes: honor, patriotism, loyalty, and kindness. I got $35 in the bank that says no other candidate has those attributes.

voteforhillaryonline is a "paulbot" thing. This is basically a spam comment, posted all over the place. My guess is that if you posted an article about your pet dog and tagged it as a "Hillary" category, there'd be a voteforhillaryonline comment posted within 4 hours. OK...I could be wrong about the 4 hours part - but I'd betcha within 12 hours for sure.
I dare you...!
