The Virginian Pilot has always been an interesting microcosm of the Liberal South, self-congratulatory and racist in a way that only Liberals can exhibit racism. To the Southern Liberal it’s all about race. It’s all about helping black people up, about giving them a hand, about making reparations, about telling them how bad their parents and grandparents had it and how bad they have it because those evil people (the ones that are not Liberals) hold hate in their heart and do bad things.

So they treat them like children or pets. And they have their token black employees (although there are now fewer of them due to layoffs).

But if you do that to people they will despise you; and rightfully so. If you find someone who does not take you seriously, does not treat you as an equal you learn to dislike, even to hate. If you continually give someone something, you will not develop and independent person, you develop a dependent, a client. If you enter a race and cross the finish line, even if you did not win, you can have a sense of accomplishment. If you are carried across, there is no accomplishment to the one carried, but the carrier can pat himself on the back. And that’s what the Southern Liberal does. Even worse, if I were to hear people express pity for me because of some characteristic such as the color of my skin, I would learn to hate those people.

An independent adult resents pity and patronization. And that is what the brand of people who go to work at the Virginian Pilot represents. Even today, they do not see Barack Hussein Obama as the man who is entering the most powerful office in the world. They see him as a symbol of a people who they “just want to help.” To them, he’s not the President with a tan; he’s the Black Man in the Oval Office.

Which is the reason why Obama, the person who – in our history - has the fewest qualifications to enter the office of the Presidency, is likened to Abraham Lincoln. They are still carrying him across the finish line and will never let him run his own race.

Pravda was a beacon of journalistic truth and technical prowess compared with the Virginian Pilot

I was a subscriber for about 20 years, but I cancelled that rag because of the election coverage. I do feel a bit odd without it, but the foul addiction will pass.
