We have the worst ruling class in the world.  There is a lot of truth in this article.  The US had a policy of outsourcing production to low-labor-cost countries and China with its huge population offered it's services after Japan turned into a high-labor-cost country. 

The result was a series of individual decisions by American corporations which started as a trickle and became a torrent as corporate CEOs competed with each other to lower labor cost by moving production to China.  And the American government fully participated with free-trade zones and a tariff policy the practically invited the hollowing-out of american manufacturing and assembly.

And everyone participated: government on Left and Right, large corporations, distributors like Amazon, even labor unions which drive American wages higher making Chinese labor more and more attractive. 

Hate the Chinese government if you wish, but hold your own government responsible for hollowing America out like a husk....China didn’t force the traitors of the American economy to shift crucial production lines to its country and strand Americans without surgical and N-95 masks and medication; homegrown turncoats made that decision, all by their lonesome....

The sphinxly Bill Gates, we are told, foresaw the pandemic. Gates also pioneered the outsourcing of American lives to China (and India). I say “lives,” because, as it has become abundantly clear, in the wake of COVID, the very stuff of life has been outsourced to China. Not mere jobs; but careers, not just some products, but entire production lines; not one or two manufacturing plants, but the entire means of production.

WASHINGTON, D.C., March 27, 2020 (LifeSiteNews) — A United States senator pleaded with her colleagues to end the country’s dangerous reliance on Chinese drug production by bringing pharmaceutical manufacturing back into the United States of America.

Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) delivered a sobering presentation, urging her colleagues to join in supporting a measure — aptly named the “Securing America’s Medicine Cabinet Act” — which aims to free the U.S. from China’s stranglehold on the supply chain for many important drugs.

Not only did Blackburn note the Chinese communist government’s current “gross malfeasance” in its handling of its coronavirus outbreak, downplaying the severity of COVID-19 and denying the risk of person-to-person transmission; she also called attention to a long history of the Chinese pharmaceutical industry supplying the U.S. with substandard — sometimes deadly — medicines.

Speaking from the floor of the Senate chamber on Wednesday, Blackburn declared in no uncertain terms that our country’s relationship with China needs to change.

“Americans deserve better than this from their pharmaceutical supply chain. If we allow this to continue, we are going to do so at our own peril,” said Blackburn.

“I encourage my colleagues to support the bipartisan Securing America’s Medicine Cabinet Act,” urged the Tennessee senator.

The NY Times is full of lies about the flu.  They are siding with the Chinese who spread their disease throughout the world. 

This has been going on for decades.

An end-product of China’s infiltration of the American media and education establishment is the almost immediate regurgitation of China’s racist and xenophobic argument by the American mainstream media and the predominantly left-wing professional class.  Hollywood and the entertainment cabal, already awash in Chinese capital and desperate for access to the Chinese market, has refused to criticize China’s handling of the Coronavirus focusing instead on President Trump.  It is almost a certainty that when the pandemic recedes there will be nothing produced that is even remotely critical of China.

The European Union is now China’s largest trading partner and investor.  They are beginning to exert increasing influence in nations such as Italy and throughout the continent.  Which is why the European Union refused to initiate a travel ban from China during the entirety of the Coronavirus outbreak, leading to Europe now being the global epicenter of the pandemic as well as the source of the bulk of the infections in the United States.

With this overall backdrop the Chinese leadership is confident that their near clownish propaganda efforts will succeed.  Their only obstacle is the re-election of President Trump, who is the only world leader in the past 25 years to understand what animates the Chinese and to stand up to their intimidation tactics.

Mark Steyn: A Forest of Bare Branches

China has a problem,, and it's a demographic problem that is masked by the fact that the nation has such a huge population ... for now.  Mark Steyn lays it out.

In 2006 I wrote an international bestseller about demography. Which is harder to do than you might think. But it was leavened with Dean Martin gags and whatnot. Nevertheless, it made some big-picture points:

Will China be the hyperpower of the 21st century? Answer: No. Its population will get old before it's got rich.

That's a cute line. I've been using it since the dawn of the millennium and I've been interested to watch it catch on. A few years back, I had the pleasure of hearing Henry Kissinger use it: It sounds so much more geopolitically persuasive in his gravelly voice. And the point is a serious one: Japan's demographic crisis began after they'd got rich, which is the better way to arrange things. In China, alas, the statistics are catching up with Steynian doom-mongering:

China's population shrank last year for the first time in 70 years, experts said, warning of a "demographic crisis" that puts pressure on the country's slowing economy...

The number of live births nationwide in 2018 fell by 2.5 million year-on-year, contrary to a predicted increase of 790,000 births, according to analysis by U.S.-based academic Yi Fuxian.

Yi is at the University of Wisconsin at Madison and he's been tracking just how old China's getting:

China's median age was 22 in 1980. By 2018, it was 40. That will rise to 46 in 2030 and 56 in 2050. In the US, the median age was 30 in 1980 and 38 in 2018. In 2030, it will be 40, and 44 in 2050. India, by comparison, had a median age of 20 in 1980 and 28 in 2018.

What happened between 1980 and 2018 to make a country age that fast? Well, for two generations Chinese mothers gave birth to boys and aborted all the girls.

And here's the problem, even though the Chinese government now permits two children, the Chinese are accustomed to one child and are not changing.

China wound up with an unintended Cultural Revolution: The cultural norm of having households with multiple children faded away so totally that, even when it's no longer illegal to have two kids, very few Chinese want to; they've gotten out of the habit.

Chinese leaders may realize their self-created dilemma and that may make them dangerous.

But a comparatively large number of comparatively poor Chinese will face cruder, tougher choices. As we see in trade negotiations, China today is an aggressive and demanding power - and for very good reasons: It has to use its moment, because the moment is already passing.

Every package from China only costs $1.50 to ship. The US Post Office charges about $14 or more.  American Taxpayers make up the difference.

MALONE: Somehow, Jayme’s foreign competitor could manufacture and deliver a mug to a U.S. address for less than he pays to just ship the mug. When he started to look into how this was possible, Jayme discovered the answer had to do with a quiet, powerful organization called the Universal Postal Union.

People in the United States and other Western countries may have called Donald J. Trump a lot of different names, but in China, many people are addressing him as “Chuan Da Ye.”

“Chuan” is the Chinese pronunciation for Trump. “Da” means big or great, and “Ye” means grandfather, grandpa, or more broadly, an elderly male. So “Chuan Da Ye” can be roughly translated as “Powerful Grandpa Trump.”

For people who know the Chinese language well, the words “Da Ye” together carry connotations of affirmation, respect, affection, authority, capability, and more. When people call someone “Da Ye,” it often means that they are willing to follow this person, at least morally. And they would rather side with this man than oppose him.

Although the Party-controlled official Chinese media has been depicting the West and the United States as “the hostile force in the West,” many Chinese netizens who know how to “jump over” the Great Fire Wall of China show their affection towards Trump by calling him “Chuan Da Ye.” They like his toughness, his personality, and the fact that he is super rich and successful.

Interesting.

Wouldn't it be a huge surprise if Trump followed the example of Reagan when he said (referrign to the Soviet Union) "We win, they lose."

Army Rips Out Chinese-Made Surveillance Cameras Overlooking U.S. Base

The U.S. Army said it removed surveillance cameras made by a Chinese state-backed manufacturer from a domestic military base, while a congressional committee plans to hold a hearing this month into whether small businesses face cybersecurity risks from using the equipment.

Fort Leonard Wood, an Army base in Missouri’s Ozarks, replaced five cameras on the base branded and made by Hangzhou Hikvision Digital Technology Co. , said Col. Christopher Beck, the base’s chief of staff. He said officials at the base acted after reading media reports about the company.

What kind of crazy world are we living in, when the only people speaking in defense of “traditional morals” are Chinese Communists?

Ling Bing, the women’s basketball team coach at Huazhong University of Science and Technology of Central China, posted a photo of team members carrying the banner online, The New York Times reported [April 20].

“Protect traditional Chinese morals,” read the banner. “Defend core socialist values. Resist corrosion from decadent Western thoughts. Keep homosexuality far from campus.”

Upon receiving backlash for posting the picture, Ling noted what he perceived to be a “double standard” — gay students flaunt rainbow flags at graduation, but the banner held by his basketball team was deemed wrong, as reported by The New York Times.

Now that the Clintons are no longer ruling the roost, more of the truth will come out.

Trump’s ability to tap into the fears of those who feel marginalized is hardly unique to the United States.

The Globalist dislikes Trump intensely and thinks that what's been going on in terms of companies moving their factories offshore is great, they admit that it's not all beer and skittles in, for example, China.

While an unprecedented number of Chinese tourists have flocked overseas to shop at some of the world’s toniest stores and Chinese investors are key players in global markets, the divide between those who are accumulating wealth and those barely scraping by continues to widen rapidly.

The leadership in Beijing has actually emulated its big capitalist brother in Washington by essentially paying mere lip service to correcting the widening gap between those who have gained from globalization and those who are losing as a result.

It seems that China has a particularly virulent brand of Crony Capitalism. Of course it's easier to do when you don't have to disguise the cronyism because political opposition is not allowed. But if you don't give enough of the spoils to the peasants, pretty soon you won't have enough police and military to prevent a "preference cascade" for a different gang of rulers.

Both had direct access to every row of data in every database: they were root. Another team that worked with these databases had at its head two team members with PRC passports. I know that because I challenged them personally and revoked their privileges. From my perspective, OPM compromised this information more than three years ago and my take on the current breach is 'so what's new?'"

Would it surprise you to learn that the net worth of the 70 richest delegates in China's National People's Congress averages out to more than $1 billion per delegate?  We're talking about a government that say's it's Communist, you know, everybody's equal?

Certain members of the press - like the NY Times columnist Thomas Friedman - love the Chinese Communist system.  You know, the leadership says "jump" and the people ask "how high?"  Well, those in control apparently have been saving their pennies and - who knew - in the land of equality some appear to be much, much more equal than others.  Please note that in the US, while a lot of people in government are rich, they are not rich by People's Republic standards.

But we're getting there. From the Wall Street Journal

Earlier this month the Washington Post's Carol Leonnig reported that the former vice president's wealth is today estimated at $100 million, up from less than $2 million when he left government service on a salary of $181,400. How did he make this kind of money? It wasn't his share of the Nobel Peace Prize. Nor was it the book and movie proceeds from "An Inconvenient Truth."

Instead, as Ms. Leonnig reports, "Fourteen green-tech firms in which Gore invested received or directly benefited from more than $2.5 billion in loans, grants and tax breaks, part of President Obama's historic push to seed a U.S. renewable-energy industry with public money."

It helps to have friends in high places.  And the workers? Not so much.

The Post story mentions one of the beneficiaries of Mr. Gore's investment acumen, Milwaukee-based Johnson Controls, which won a $299 million award from the federal government in 2009 to make electric-car batteries. Here's how that worked out:

"The company has dramatically scaled back, after executives concluded demand for electric cars was far lower than the administration forecast. The factory outfitted with stimulus funds is nearly idle, and plans to build a second plant have been postponed."

And the Big "O" himself?

When the history of this administration is written, maybe someone will note the dissonance between the president's hip persona and his retro ideology. Here was a man who promised a "transformative" presidency. Yet when transformation came, it amounted to a two-pronged attempt to impose, from one side, a version of European social democracy by way of ObamaCare, and from the other side a version of Chinese state-directed "capitalism" by way of the stimulus.

As a political matter it may have been Mr. Obama's good luck that the bankruptcy of both models became obvious only after he had gotten his way legislatively on both. Yet the president's sagging fortunes have everything to do with his buying into an ideological enthusiasm too late. In a different age, Mr. Obama would have been the guy who went out and bought an Edsel. In this age, Mr. Obama is the guy demanding that you buy an Edsel, too. That car is today called the Volt.

Many years ago when I was a kid, I had a friend whose parents knew people in Mexico. When Kennedy was elected the Mexicans commented that we were lucky that Kennedy was already rich. In Mexico the road to "real" wealth was to win the Presidency which meant that you controlled the graft and were assured of becoming a billionaire. It appears that Mexico was simply a generation ahead of us.
