My oh my, what a firestorm I appear to have started with my remarks two days ago on Obama’s background! It was wholly expected, of course, but nevertheless the posters’ comments are so revealing. They graphically illustrate the way in which Obamania has quite obviously destroyed the capacity for reason.
First, it is quite clear that any questioning at all of Obama’s background is entirely off-limits. Next, the posters fail totally to grasp that the real point isn’t what faith he professed or was brought up in as a child – it is the fact that he has not told the truth about his early background. Then, some even compare such questioning with the ‘truthers’ who allege that 9/11 was perpetrated by a conspiracy between America and Israel. They thus demonstrate that they cannot tell the difference between rationality and lunacy, evidence and fantasy, failing to grasp that the sole reason for the questions about Obama is the many discrepancies in the accounts of his early life -- including his own accounts -- plus his many questionable associations.

As was illustrated in this little snippet in the Virginian Pilot (Pravda was a beacon of journalistic truth and technical prowess compared to the local rag). It was from today's editorial page in which the editors reprint items from the Liberal to the Socialist blogs and papers. This one was penned by Mo Dowd, who, having received her marching orders from the "wunderkind" running the NY Times into the ground, makes sure we know what we are not allowed to say when we speak of God Himself.
Now Republicans can turn their full attention to demonizing Michelle Obama. Mrs. Obama is the new, unwilling contestant in Round Two of the sulfurous national game of “Kill the witch.”
There are some who think it will be harder for America to accept a black first lady — the national hostess who serenely presides over the White House Christmas festivities and the Easter egg roll — than a black president.
There are creepy Web sites, like TheObamaFile.com, dedicated to painting Michelle as a female version of Jeremiah Wright, an angry black woman, the disgruntled, lecturing “Mrs. Grievance” depicted on the cover of National Review.
And how does the the angry spinster view Michelle Obama? She walks well on water (from later in he column)
She’s a devoted daughter, wife and mother who has lived the American dream, from the humble South Side of Chicago to Harvard Law School. Hey, isn’t it totally unAmerican to complain that being a black woman in the ’80s at a class-conscious, white-bread college, Princeton, was somewhat uncomfortable?
Somewhat uncomfortable? The woman who proclaimed that for the first time she was proud of her country when Barack was nominated? That speech was not given at Princeton, it was given decades later in 2008 after the Obamas became millionaires.
The editors of Pravda would have been ashamed of that little slip in time. But it takes more than that to shame people who have no shame.
