Earlier, the media were wondering if or when Sarah Palin would show up. All other candidates would have made sure that the media would be told far in advance when and where to gather. Palin is a force of nature and the media are her foil. she gathers strength from their hatred. She's the most unusual candidate in my lifetime.
And suddenly she's there:
1:09 p.m. | Updated DES MOINES — Sarah Palin arrived at the Iowa State Fair even as Rick Santorum was speaking on the fair soap box and Tim Pawlenty was grilling pork on a stick.
Ms. Palin came, reportedly in a black Suburban, to the cattle barn — and was immediately surrounded by a crush of reporters and fairgoers.
