A Georgia mother and her two young children are unharmed after a man broke into their house with a crowbar on Friday, cornering them in an attic crawlspace.
According to WSB-TV, the woman was at home with her nine-year-old twins when the doorbell rang. When they didn’t answer, the man reportedly went back to his car and returned with a crowbar.
But the man eventually found the family.“The perpetrator opens that door. Of course, at that time he’s staring at her, her two children and a .38 revolver,”
Glenn Reynolds comments:
I’ll repeat — somebody who breaks into your house, then enters the attic in pursuit of woman and kids, probably isn’t just out to lift a TV.
On the other hand, here are people who think she's a gun nut:
Hard to say the intruder would have done anything. He might have just left. But luckily gun people fire first and ask questions later.

What a moron. The guy was obviously casing the neighborhood to see what house was empty to rob. If she'd answered the door or otherwise made it known the house was occupied the guy woulda moved on, he obviously wasn't an armed intruder looking for a confrontation. She put her children in danger needlessly, she's not a hero at all.

Or she could have just looked to see who was at the door without waiting for him to decide nobody was home and it was safe to break in.
