Virginian Pilot Letter Writer
At dinner with friends last night, we briefly touched on the subject of what's wrong with the country. Why do so many people hate it? The Virginian Pilot's Letters to the editor" section could not have provided a better answer.
‘Do better’
Those who oppose the immigration at the southern border need to look at the history of this country. The explorers who “discovered” America were immigrants who slaughtered the indigenous population. Their descendants imported people against their will, enslaving them for more than two centuries. During World War II, Japanese Americans were imprisoned by the descendants of the original immigrants for the sole reason that they had family who had emigrated from the then-American enemy, Japan.
During the 1930s and ’40s, virulent antisemites, including such vaunted Americans as Henry Ford and Charles Lindbergh who influenced those in government, promoted the lies of the German government, preventing hundreds of thousands of European Jews from entering our country and thus saving their lives. While we have a country that we can be proud of for our many accomplishments, we have much to atone for and be ashamed of: Native Americans, Africans, Japanese Americans, European Jews, Hispanics. We must do better.
— Marge Schechner, Virginia Beach
And there you have it. According to Marge Schechner of Virginia Beach, America was founded by genocidal murderers, slavers, and antisemitic racists who exhibit special hatred for Japanese and Hispanics. Marge may have overlooked other faults because she then mentions that we "have a country we can be proud of for our many accomplishments." She fails to mention those accomplishments so we're left in the dark about what those are.
Marge is not an outlier. This is the Liberal view of America: a country of vile people descended from vile people. But if we want to return to Marge's good graces, we are told to "do better."
Do you have the feeling that Marge represents a lot of the educational establishment that is teaching our children and creating their "standards of learning?"

Associated Press Hates on Christians
The AP hates the Supreme Court's defense of a Christian coach to pray in public. First proclaims it's no big deal.
Prayer decision not a game changer ...
Quotes the side that lost the case:
“I don’t think there has been a noticeable uptick in these sorts of situations,” said Chris Line, an attorney for the Freedom From Religion Foundation, which advocates for the separation of church and state.
Calls praying in public "pushing religion."
there’s always going to be people like that who want to use their position to push religion on other people,”
Gives the megaphone to those who hate religion.
“The biggest mistake that happened out of the Kennedy decision was that the Supreme Court justices focused so much on the coach’s rights and they just completely disregarded the view of students,” said Line, of the Freedom From Religion Foundation.
Since the ruling, Line’s group has gotten some prayer-related complaints, including one about a North Carolina coach holding a prayer service and a baptism on the field, and several about pre-game prayers over public address systems at high schools in Alabama. Line is convinced that more coaches cautious about team prayers will be emboldened to emulate Kennedy.
“That’s definitely going to happen. I just don’t know how widespread it will be,” Line said. “In the past, school districts, I think, felt a lot more comfortable to say, ‘Hey, knock it off.’ And now some school districts may misinterpret this and be afraid to protect their students.”
Rachel Laser is president of Americans United for Separation of Church and State, which represented the Bremerton school board in the case. She lamented that the Supreme Court “adopted the deceitful narrative that Kennedy was praying quietly and to himself.” She also worried that it will encourage other coaches and teachers “who view public schools as a mission field.”
Laser said it’s too early to assess the ruling’s impact, and suggested some students may be fearful of speaking up.
Claims of violence are totally without evidence.
“We won’t get reports of every case like this because it takes a lot of courage even to file a report online, let alone to pursue it,” she said. “Our plaintiffs have had their windows shot through, their pets killed, received death threats and have been ostracized in their community — the full gamut of terrible things.”
Notice that those who are vindicated by the Supreme Court are afraid to go public.
Some public school coaches in Alabama, Oklahoma and Tennessee acknowledged feeling vindicated by the ruling and said they would continue to pray with students, but declined to be identified publicly because they didn’t want to draw attention to their teams.

Don’t pretend that high prices and American suffering are a ‘bug’ for the establishment — it’s a historic feature
Well, the establishment is doing it again. As author Julia Song tweeted: “Sh*t is so fake that the minute an outsider took office we got cheap gas, cheap food, became energy independent, no wars and focused on our country’s own issues. Establishment hacks get back in and we have inflation, medical tyranny, world war 3, need to take a mortgage for gas.”

Trickle-Down Racist Antiracism
This reactionary and neo-Confederate return to racial stigmatization and hatred is not going to end well.
Regressing to the Color of Our Skin
Until about 2008, it was generally believed America had made great strides in rendering race incidental rather than essential to our characters. We were moving away from the racial collective of our past to the individual. That was the dream of Martin Luther King, Jr., who emphasized content of character over color of skin.
Barack Obama’s presidency, however, resurrected tribal identity politics. He rebooted the banal word “diversity” and made it synonymous with anyone and anything “nonwhite.” ...
As a result, rich Punjabi immigrants, Korean-American orthodontists, Obama himself, or Oprah Winfrey (the victim, supposedly, of being denied a look at a $38,000 crocodile skin bag) all supposedly shared some sort of oppressed solidarity by virtue of not being completely white.
But if the well-off mysteriously could become victims, stranger still, millions of the poor could be reinvented as white victimizers.
In this new fixation on “white rage,” “white supremacy,” and “white privilege,” a white Mark Zuckerberg, Jane Fonda, a long-haul truck-driver, or an Alabama janitor all can be jumbled together as the oppressors of the likes of Jussie Smollett, LeBron James, Sonya Sotomayor, or Elizabeth Warren—whose power, money, or influence did not negate their claims of being not fully white.
And:
So why wouldn’t a known racist firebrand like Brooks or Frank James, the racist subway shooter, believe that he was only acting out the thoughts of elites who were bragging about either shunning non-improved whites or playing at beheading them?

So little has really changed since 9-11-2001
Mark Steyn recalls a UN Conference held in South Africa just before that fateful day.
There is no great issue facing the world today that can't be made worse by having a UN conference on it. But even so the grand comedy in Durban this week has effortlessly surpassed all expectations....
Fidel Castro, hailed by South Africa's foreign minister as leader of 'the most democratic country in the world'; there was the Organisation of African Unity's demand that reparations for the Hutu slaughter of the Tutsis should be paid - by the Americans, naturally; there were the major disagreements on the more general reparations front between the African-American bloviators, who wanted whitey's payments to go to individuals, and African presidents, who thought it would be more convenient if the West just dropped off one big cheque at the presidential palace ...
Even so, some of you may be wondering how it is that when one Rwandan tribe wages genocide on another Rwandan tribe it's the Yanks who get sent the bill for compensation. The OAU's argument is that the ultimate blame for the Hutu attack on the Tutsis rests with Washington for not intervening earlier. Therefore, the UN must persuade the US to acknowledge its responsibility by paying reparations to 800,000 Tutsis. Rwanda is a sovereign nation, and the United States has no connection with it, historic or present. Nevertheless, when one bunch of Rwandans decides to hack up another bunch of Rwandans, it's Uncle Sam who's supposed to pony up.
And just as in 2001, the American Left is ready and willing to take money from American workers, to demand that farm boys die in foreign wars, to pay for the sins, the greed, and stupidity of the Ruling Class.

WHY ARE SO MANY AMERICAN INSTITUTIONS RUN BY PEOPLE WHO HATE AMERICA?
National Archives and Records Association puts "harmful content" label on Constitution, founding documents.
The National Archives and Records Association (NARA) is placing a warning label on the Constitution and other founding documents. The warning is of “harmful content”. I wish it was a silly post in the Babylon Bee but, no, it’s Biden’s America now and we must be protected from the historical documents written by a bunch of white men at the creation of our constitutional republic. Hide the children.
No, it's not a joke.

There Goes Robert E. Lee
Christopher Caldwell explores the manner in which the Left now hates the very idea of America, including the Civil War.
The controversy over Robert E. Lee is not just a matter of “refighting the Civil War.” On the contrary, it denies the relevance of the Civil War as we have up till now understood it....Appomattox, far from being the moment when Americans began to reunite with malice toward none, with charity for all, becomes the moment when whites—North and South—unite against blacks, an episode in the history of a tyranny, a tyranny we inhabit to this day, which stands in need of a root-and-branch reconstruction.
Whereas earlier Americans understood slavery primarily as a problem of liberty, today’s Americans understand it primarily as a problem of race. It seemed for several generations that the end of slavery had removed the only obstacle to honoring both sides of the Civil War. But in the newest generation, the persistence of American racial prejudice can be a reason to honor neither.

Given CNN’s “Propaganda,” How Can We Avoid Paranoia When They Really Are Out to Get Us?
They are really out to destroy you. How should Christians react? Good question!
There Is No American Exception to Decadence
We shouldn’t be blithely confident of the future of our country. We have no margin for smugness. Ronald Reagan was dead right to warn us that freedom is only one generation away from extinction anywhere. There’s no American exception to that. Now our schoolchildren are learning that the US was founded to stop King George from freeing the slaves. How confident should we be of how they’ll run the place in our old age?
Yes, we ought to be angry. Not full of destructive rage, nor looking for handy scapegoats. We must avoid at all costs targeting ethnic or religious groups. Our foes are individuals, maybe gathered into conspiracies, but our issue with them isn’t their origins. It’s their free, willful decisions. We have no quarrel with the innocent, and don’t need to make (or make up) new enemies.
We must be ready to reach out and accept new allies, in fact. For decades I’ve watched in horror as my fellow Yalie Naomi Wolf promoted radical feminist policies. Now I see her awakened by the COVID dictatorship to the goodness and fragility of our Constitutional freedoms. She’s appearing on Eric Metaxas’s and Steve Bannon’s programs. I’m impressed, exalted, and humbled. I didn’t know she had it in her. Just goes to show you that God’s grace still operates. May it carry on in her heart, and millions of others’.
Till then, we need the low-burning, implacable anger that Winston Churchill carried while fighting the Nazi high-tech barbarians. The deep, metaphysical outrage that Alexander Solzhenitsyn maintained over decades toward the fanatics who wrecked his country. It’s that kind of anger, based in facts and principles, that goaded our founding fathers to finally break our ties with Britain. Because it’s built on reflection, and the love for our fellow citizens, such anger can subside when our enemies are defeated. If they show genuine repentance, it can grow into forgiveness.
But not before then. God still loves the unrepentant, but he doesn’t rush to forgive them. They must leave their various pigsties, and wend their way back to the Father’s house. And then we can embrace them.

Tal Bachman: We Have Met the Enemy
Whether they realize it or not, Wokists themselves combine the lunatic loyalty of the Manson family with the hollow pseudo-joy of Jonestown residents, the racism of National Socialists, the inhumanity of Mao Tse-Tung, the bratty tantrums of Veruca Salt, the nihilism of Bakunin-style anarchists, the totalitarianism of Stalin's Soviet Union, the child torture and sacrifice of the Mayans, the derangement of Heaven's Gate followers, the sadistic violence of the Jacobins, and the ruthless control-freakism of the current Chinese Communist Party.
Now add to that noxious syncretic blend the Wokist use of powerful communication technologies to shape narratives and meta-narratives, destroy opponents, and recruit new converts, and you've got yourself a thing.
Read the whole thing and realize that it's a war.
Oh, realize that we are partly responsible:
We also voted for idiots. We voted for idiot mayors, idiot governors, idiot senators, idiot representatives, idiot party leaders, idiot presidential candidates, idiot everything. We allowed mega-donor fatcat globalists to take over the Republican Party. We sat by as they neutralized the Tea Party, and then resumed pushing for endless corporate tax breaks, endless job exportation, and endless scab labor via illegal immigration.

A column this week by former Defense Secretary James N. Mattis that blasted President Trump‘s “America First” theme
Mattis' China connection is certainly interesting, and one could easily conclude that he is not arguing disinterestedly, but that's not what I want to discuss. What strikes me is his antipathy toward the concept of building our foreign policy around the idea 'America First'.
Mattis wrote:
“‘America first’ has meant ‘America alone.’ That has damaged the country’s ability to address problems before they reach U.S. territory and has thus compounded the danger emergent threats pose.”That's just a misrepresentation. 'America First' has never meant 'America Alone', it just means that American interests must be paramount in every international endeavor undertaken by the United States. It doesn't mean we can't work with other countries when it is in our interest to do so.
Secretary of State Mike Pompeo pushed back against Mattis' depiction of Trump as some lone gunslinger:
“We built a real Coalition. A coalition that crushed the caliphate in Syria, a coalition that’s pushed back against the Chinese Communist Party, a coalition that refuses to appease Iran,” Pompeo continued. “We develop Coalitions that actually deliver real results and reflect the reality on the ground.”The question I have for Mattis is, if we're not supposed to put America's interests first, then whose interests should we put first? It's got to be somebody's, if not us, then who? And what it boils down to is: the safety and security of a nation's citizens are ultimately a nation's only vital interest. So if the people whom we elect to run this country do not have my safety and security (from threats foreign and domestic) first and foremost in their minds, then what hell are they doing? I obviously made a mistake voting for them and I will vote against them at the earliest opportunity.

There is a scary similarity between Russia before the Bolshevik Revolution and America today
Between 1900 and 1917, waves of unprecedented terror struck Russia. Several parties professing incompatible ideologies competed (and cooperated) in causing havoc. Between 1905 and 1907, nearly 4,500 government officials and about as many private individuals were killed or injured. Between 1908 and 1910, authorities recorded 19,957 terrorist acts and revolutionary robberies, doubtless omitting many from remote areas. As the foremost historian of Russian terrorism, Anna Geifman, observes, “Robbery, extortion, and murder became more common than traffic accidents.”
Anyone wearing a uniform was a candidate for a bullet to the head or sulfuric acid to the face. Country estates were burnt down (“rural illuminations”) and businesses were extorted or blown up. Bombs were tossed at random into railroad carriages, restaurants, and theaters. Far from regretting the death and maiming of innocent bystanders, terrorists boasted of killing as many as possible, either because the victims were likely bourgeois or because any murder helped bring down the old order. A group of anarcho-communists threw bombs laced with nails into a café bustling with two hundred customers in order “to see how the foul bourgeois will squirm in death agony.”

MINNEAPOLIS GOES BAGDHAD
We are under assault by terrorists and anarchists conducting offensive operations throughout the Twin Cities. The unified command of soldiers and law enforcement officers withdrew to defend critical and targeted infrastructure. As arsonists set fires, as looters continued their activities, as terrorists destroyed businesses, law enforcement forces withdrew and redeployed.
The Minnesota state authorities held a press conference at 10:00 yesterday morning. Governor Walz led the parade with a classic yammer yammer yammer blah blah blah performance. I have embedded the video below. He is — they are — over their head, out of their depth, out of it, clueless. You have to see it to believe it.Long-time race hustler Attorney General Keith Ellison is worse than out of it. He is on the other side. The governor, however, is calling the shots. At the press conference Governor Walz performed in his usual used car salesman mode. You might have bought one from the guy in the first minute of his pitch, but the second, third, fourth, and fifth clunkers he tried to peddle gave the game away. It’s time for him to pack it in.
Buy guns if you don't have them. If you have guns, buy ammo.
The way things really are in Minneapolis
Everyone has seen the videos of the Minneapolis police officer kneeling on the neck of a hapless petty criminal. And now looting and arson are happening all over the city. How did a very civilized city come to this?Well, progressives, of course. But beyond that, do folks know the City of Minneapolis operates a protection racket? All of the adults on the city council have retired or been voted out, and the council is now composed of earnest young progressives like our boy mayor Jacob Frey. And what does every young progressive like Jacob fear the most? Being called a racist. We also have a few AOC types who want to seize the Lake of the Isles mansions for the (well-connected) people.Generous welfare benefits combined with importing a few hundred thousand East Africans means that Mary Tyler Moore’s clean, well-run hub of tech, manufacturing, and agriculture is now rather troublesome. The Somalis were actually welcomed for their

HOWIE CARR ON MIKE FLYNN: FBI railroading Americans, but we knew that here in Boston.
Via Instapundit:
Who would have ever believed that James Comey and Andrew McCabe might be arrested before Donald J. Trump? As the president said Thursday of this greatest scandal in American political history: “I wish I knew then what I know now.”Every day, in every way, this catastrophe of corruption by the FBI’s “human scum,” as the president so rightly describes them, metastasizes into something ever more appalling.Did these effete, crooked cops ever stop railroading their fellow American citizens and obstructing justice? And yet the Democrats and the media, but I repeat myself, just keep saying, nothing to see here folks, move along. They’ve gone from covering the news to covering up the news.According to one account Thursday, the “news” networks spent 2,284 minutes over the years promoting the Russian collusion hoax from start to finish. But here’s the amount of airtime they’ve devoted to these latest revelations about the FBI’s pervasive top-to-bottom corruption in promoting the hoax:CNN, ABC and CBS: a combined zero mentions. MSNBC: one mention, at 5:14 a.m., NBC: one mention, at 3:41 a.m.The New York Times, which handed itself a Pulitzer Prize for years of “reporting” Russian collusion that didn’t exist, now argues that President Trump wants prosecutions of the crooked FBI agents so he can “weaponize” their criminal behavior for the campaign. So it was totally OK for the feds to try to frame Trump and everyone around him, but to want someone brought to justice for it is just politics — weaponizing and seizing and pouncing on those wonderful Democrats in the FBI and the CIA?Thursday, the Associated Press was still couching these latest revelations about the FBI’s frame-ups as something that Michael Flynn was “claiming” and “contending.”One of the pro-Deep State blogs “claimed” and “contended” that the newly-revealed handwritten notes about Flynn were no big deal, because the briefers at the J. Edgar Hoover Building often brainstorm on how to best destroy anyone who gets in their way.Which everyone in Boston, at least, has known for decades. But isn’t that the problem, that this has been going on forever?

Liberal Activist Explains Notion Of Tolerance To Man She Just Called A 'Worthless [Expletive]'
The Babylon Bee presents a pitch-perfect example of the Party of Love and Tolerance
“Everyone deserves to be treated with respect and decency, you [expletive] [expletive]!” she yelled, pumping her balled fist in the direction of the man who had taken issue with her cause. “You do not get to judge or shame people because of their beliefs!”
“Now get the [expletive] out of here, you filthy [expletive] [expletive] [expletive]!”
“[Expletive] [expletive] [expletive]!” agreed some fellow protesters within earshot of Fernandez.
“Love wins, [expletive]!” she added, as the man walked away.
Shortly after this she interviewed for a job at CNN and was hired to anchor their new daytime show.

"We have a government class that despises the people".
From The Bookworm Room. Read the whole thing.
After thinking about homeless projects that magnify homelessness; military initiatives for victim classes, rather than America’s defense; high tax demands that will destroy a thriving economy; the insistence that grown men have access to little girl’s bathrooms; the fight to open our borders so that poor and working class people can lose jobs and housing to illegal immigrants; and all the other initiatives coming from the Leftist leadership in politics, in education, in entertainment, and in the news media, I have to ask: Just who do these people represent?
They certainly don’t represent the interests of the average American or the majority of Americans. We’ve come to the point at which we no longer have “government of the people, by the people and for the people.” Instead, we have a government class that despises the people.
And
Back in 1992, when I was a Democrat, I remember that one of cheers that Bill Clinton liked to use at his rallies to get the audience revved up was, “It’s time for them to go” — with “them” referring to the Republicans who had held the White House for 12 years, to America’s tremendous social and economic benefit.
I don’t look back fondly on the Clinton years, and regret my votes at the time, but I like that theme. Across the world, as weary, beaten-down people look at a ruling class that sees them as despicable, dirty deplorables, these ordinary people, these normals, need to rise up and say, “It’s time for them to go.”
And here’s a word of warning to the ruling class: You managed to keep a lid on things for seven decades after WWII. The people’s discontent, though, is boiling. Bad things happen when the pressure from that boiling finally blows off that tightly pressed lid. I suggest that the Western world’s ruling class, as well as the ruling class in China and the Middle East, gracefully backs away from the levers of power before its members get their greedy, smug little hands blown off of those same levers.
Be assured that I’m not advocating a bullet-style revolution. I prefer my revolutions at the ballot box. But when a people become too discontent, the ballot box is suddenly no longer an option.

Max Boot: Trump Wrong For Speaking Bad About Dead Terrorist
Don’t speak badly about dead terrorists says Max Boot. The ink had hardly been dry on the Washington Post’s obituary fawning all over dead terrorist al-Baghdadi when Max Boot decided it was time for yet another anti-Trump lecture.
For those who need a reminder (or don't know who Max Boot is), he's a Never Trumper who was once a thought leader on the Right. Since Trump's election, his true colors are visible and he's revealed as an enabler and ally of the Left that hates you.
And this:
The U.S. media has rarely reported in detail on the actual atrocities of ISIS. And in fact, goes overboard to NOT identify terrorists because, you know, we are supposed to think all these bombings and massacres were committed by Baptists.
So a dead terrorist, one responsible for an estimated 8,300 deaths since 2013, should be sympathized with according to Max Boot, the Washington Post, Bloomberg, CNBC, and Bill Kristol among others.
