We Are Sitting Ducks And Our Leaders Do Not Care (excerpt)

 When serious guys like Ambassador O’Brien are worried, maybe people should pay attention. Just look at those facts and decide for yourself, understanding that most people will refuse to do so. It’s scary and unpleasant. Based on our elite’s legacy of failure over the last few decades, it takes a lot of dead Americans for people to sit up and pay attention. Our elite actually supports our enemies. You have an organization, Black Lives Matter, that actively celebrates the murder of innocents and that has received millions upon millions of dollars from mainstream corporations. On our allegedly most prestigious universities’ campuses, you have a bunch of sophomore psychopaths cheering on the rape and murder of innocent people, all in the name of “decolonization.” 

Meanwhile, the regime media and the Democrat Party are doing everything they can to neuter our ability to respond. 

Our ruling class decided they would take the risk. After all, if you’re going to make an omelet, you have to break a few eggs. Except you and your family are the eggs. When jihad cretins go on a killing spree, they’re not going to attack college campuses. They’re going to attack where normal, patriotic people are. They’re going to attack churches, ball games, shopping malls, movie theaters, and other places where you and your kids are. 

Why? Because they want to murder you. Actually, your death is a fringe benefit. They believe there’s political gain to doing it. If they spill enough American blood, maybe we will withdraw from the world. Maybe we will roll up into a fetal position and allow them to run rampant across the rest of the globe until, after their jihad has put the rest of the world under the black flag, they can finally concentrate their forces upon us and purge us from the face of the Earth.

I know you want to call me crazy. Next, I am probably going to tell you that a bunch of Arabs allowed into our country might band together, hijack four planes, and fly them into major buildings, killing thousands. How nutty is that?

Luckily, we have our crack law enforcement and intelligence communities on the case. I might feel a little more confident if the targets the FBI has been focusing on – people taking selfies in the rotunda, folks criticizing their school boards, people going to mass – were the actual threat. And, of course, our intelligence community saw 9/11 coming, got Iraq right about the WMDs, and warned Israel about what would happen in Gaza a couple of weeks ago. Oh, right, none of that is a thing. If you’re putting your personal safety in the hands of this coterie of clowns, all I can say is that you ought to go get yourself some good-term life insurance.

As always, your security is your problem, but luckily, the Second Amendment provides a solution. You need to buy guns and ammunition. I know I sound like a broken record, which is another reference that no one under 30 is going to get. When all hell breaks loose, you can expect communications to be down, you can expect chaos to rain, and if you think your local gendarmes are going to roll up in their back and white cruiser to solve your problem, you have got another thing coming. You need to do it yourself because there’s no one else who’s going to be able to do it for you. Not the cops. Not the army. Not Spider-Man. I was there in the Los Angeles riots when civilization literally collapsed in a matter of hours. You don’t think it can happen? Buddy, that is the natural state of man, not this beautiful illusion that we live with here in America. 

You have got to step up, especially now that the people you trusted to protect you have utterly failed and invited in the jihadi hordes. Maybe I’m wrong. I hope I’m wrong. I would love to hear nothing but “Kurt, I told you so.” But that doesn’t change the reality. The risk is real, and your family’s life is your responsibility. Don’t be one of those terrified people in the next set of terrorist selfies with no way to fight back. Channel the warrior heritage that belongs to every American. Be ready to fight. You might die anyway, but at least you’ll die like a man.

Just because you’ve heard it before doesn’t make it any less true. Buy guns and ammunition.

But the one core belief that effete Continentals and firebreathing Mohammedans do share is that everything is Israel's fault. As I wrote a decade-and-a-half ago:

Fifty-nine percent? What the hell's wrong with the rest of you? Hey, relax: In Germany, it was 65 percent; Austria, 69 percent; the Netherlands, 74 percent. For purposes of comparison, in a recent poll of Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates—i.e., the "moderate" Arab world—79 percent of respondents regard Israel as the greatest threat to world peace. As far as I know, in the last year or two, they haven't re-tested that question in Europe, possibly in case Israel now scores as a higher threat level in the Netherlands than in Yemen.

... "What has become of us?" Bernie Farber is what became of you - the arse who thought me and Ezra were a bigger threat than the importation of legions of people famous around the world for their antipathy to Jews. You could try Googling it. It's a numbers game now:

"What has become of us?" Since 9/11 the Muslim population of Canada has increased from two per cent to 4.9 per cent, while the Jewish population has shrunk - just a little, but it's now down below one per cent.

You were an advisor to a putative PM, and you're entirely unaware of that?

Do the math: a five-per-cent Muslim population is more than enough to cost you the election. That Jewish point-nine per cent? Who cares? Certainly not enough for any Quebec politician mindful of his electoral viability to do any serious pushback on Montrealers partying over dead and raped Israelis.

"My city. Our city"? No. Their city. Your soon to be untended cemeteries. Same old story as the rubble-strewn Jewish graveyards from Tangiers to Baghdad and beyond. But this time it's because of policies enthusiastically supported by bodies supposed to represent the interests of the Jewish people.

I don't want to single out Bernie Farber, although he's a total prat. South of the border, there are few men in America I despise more than Abe Foxman of the Anti-Defamation League. See my column from a decade back: "Hath Not a Jew Eyes?" Because of fools like Farber and Foxman, there will be no Jews in Montreal - and very soon.

As for those on the western left and right making common cause with the rapists and child-killers of Hamas, I get that they don't dig the Jews and that therefore it has a certain logic. Except:

It's one thing to be "anti-Semitic" or "anti-Zionist", as millions of westerners now are. But that's not where your comrades in the fight against Israel are inclined to leave it: They're anti-Jew mainly as a subset of being anti-infidel - anti-the other. Just to keep it music-festival-wise, see that Orlando nightclub, and Ariana Grande, and the Bataclan concert.

So one day you may get your wish, and Israel will be gone. And then they'll turn, as they always do, from the Saturday people to the Sunday people...

When I was a boy growing up on the shores of Lake Michigan, the "wealthy" people in our town were close to the people who worked for them and the people who bought their products.  They drove Pontiacs and Buicks, not Cadillacs or Rolls Royces.  They contributed to local charities and mentored young people from their communities.  

That was in a universe far, far away, and long, long ago.

Get Out the Gloat - The Left Gloats About the "Great Replacement" while telling you that talking about it is racist.

 

 

The other day, Ted Lieu, a Democrat congressman from the Post-Golden State, tweeted at one of his Republican "colleagues":

Dear @RepScottPerry: Native-born Americans like you are no more American, and no less American, than an immigrant like me. And with every passing year, there will be more people who look like me in the US. You can't stop it. So take your racist replacement theory and shove it.

 Representative Lieu's response is the "Great Replacement" in a nutshell: It's a crazy conspiracy theory, and it's totally racist for you to mention it. But, if you do have to mention it, feel free to gloat. Mr Lieu does this brilliantly: it's nutso racey-racist conspiracy talk, but "you can't stop it", so "shove it", loser.

Like the congressman, I am an immigrant, but I am not sure I would say I was "no less American" than the native-born. I don't just mean legally, in that the constitution itself distinguishes between the privileges of the natural-born versus the naturalized: Mr Perry is eligible to be president, whereas Mr Lieu is not - although I would bet a canny petitioner could persuade the six-three "conservative" Supreme Court to toss that. But I mean the thought more generally: Most of my neighbors have deep roots in this soil, and I would regard it as very unseemly to go around bragging that my comparative blink of an instant in New Hampshire equates to those with ancient lopsided headstones in the town cemetery. I can't imagine standing up at Town Meeting and telling them that I'll be supplanting them and they've got no choice but to get used to it - so "shove it".

And as for the useless Republicans:

The Democrats announce upfront where they're headed - and the Republicans then profess to be blindsided when they act on it (as in HR1, court-packing, transgender sports, you name it). By contrast, he leaders of Conservative Inc, as I observed so many years ago now, are so good at folding they should be the White House valets: The so-called "America First" caucus has imploded at the first hostile news story, and Kevin McCarthy ... has already decided his priority is to distance himself from "nativist dog whistles". "Dog whistle" is leftie lingo: Could Useless McArsepants at least get one of his six hundred staffers to find him a cliché of his own?

California is not a small state: Its population is that of Belgium, Greece, Sweden and Portugal combined. And the swift, dizzying, demographic eclipse of the population in two generations is, as I suggested, unprecedented in any society not on the losing end of a catastrophic war.

Maybe it will all work out, but it doesn't seem to be, not if you need to get anywhere in Los Angeles in under two hours or you object to San Francisco's world leadership in sidewalk fecal matter. But before that is a more basic point: This is not how normal societies function. It is deeply weird, and it ought to be possible to question it. Instead it is any objection to this suicidal trendline that is presented as weird and, increasingly, forbidden to be uttered.

Establishment is all-in on catering to the commies. It is bought and paid for, owned and happy, and dedicated to selling you out.

 As Glenn “Instapundit” Reynolds has observed, we used to export our values and now our terrible pseudo-elite seems intent on importing the Chinese communists’ values to replace the American ones that limit the ruling caste’s power. Have you noticed that our elite seems to want us less free, under tighter control, and without the ability to dissent? They have seen the future, and it looks like a Uighur labor camp filled with Americans toiling to make billionaires from New York and California even richer.

Are we ready to do serious cost-benefit analysis?

The most significant change after 9/11 - "the day the world changed" - was the doubling of the rate of Muslim immigration to the west. Will we do the same now? More open borders, more flights from Shanghai and Beijing, more transfer of what's left of western manufacturing to the Chinese Communist Party, more shrieks of "Raaaaacist!" at any questioning of Beijing's official lies, never mind whether any advanced nation needs mass immigration or unscreened self-identified "refugees"...

The changes we make this time will be existential. We are suffused in death not only because of Chinese lies but because of those we tell ourselves, suppler and more beguiling as they are. "Preparedness" does not mean merely PPE and ICU, but requires also addressing borders and immigration and political correctness, and diversity unto death. In much of the western world, we are shutting down the economy and daily life, because our rulers could not bear to shut down their own virtue-signaling diversity bollocks.

Without a Stable Moral Currency, There Is Terror Without Trust

The crisis of confidence in Western institutions can be described as a crisis of morality. The public has discovered that many public figures are shams. The #MeToo sex scandals, the accusations of collaborating with foreign powers, and most recently the Epstein case have undermined the reputation of our social betters. They are perceived are no better than the common clay and probably a good deal worse. This has undermined the trust that formerly allowed them to exercise authority over the public.

Once the realization hits that the Ruling Class is not only worse than the Country Class - but incredibly incompetent - you have a truly revolutionary situation.

What changed was the realization that without morality there is no trust and without trust, nothing works. Unchecked, this will result in a low-trust society where nobody can rely on the formal rules and reliance is placed on nepotism, tribalism, personal loyalty, and threats to transact business at all...

The instability of moral currency [outside of Christianity] combined with the immutable record-keeping of blockchain systems creates the worst of all possible environments: one in which people are irrefutably responsible for acts that may become retroactively reprehensible. Today's hero can easily be tomorrow's racist. You live in fear. Just as money is the measuring stick of economic values a stable morality is the necessary metric of political and social action. Without it, you can have terror but not trust.

I suggest it's because of the political culture ...

These days we are unmanned in more than merely the sense of that Luna 2 expedition. Glenn and Armstrong are gone, and their surviving comrades are old and stooped and wizened, and yet the only giants we have. Space may still be the final frontier, but today, when we talk about boldly going where no man has gone before, we mean the ladies' bathroom. Progress.
