The Anti-Semitism of Human Rights Watch

I have a good friend, a Jewish gentleman of impeccable gentility, a learned man, and a devoted Liberal who believes all the right things that good Liberals believe, and supports all the right causes that Liberals support. I am absolutely sure that among those things and causes that he supports is Human Rights Watch.

So it is with sadness that I must tell him that HRW is now an enemy of Israel.

How so? From the New York Sun, a relatively new, conservative, New York paper that supports Israel, as do the vast majority of conservative groups and organizations.

Human Rights Watch, whose executive director, Kenneth Roth, has written a letter to the editor of The New York Sun replying to the article that appeared July 25 by Avi Bell accusing Human Rights Watch of bias. If readers weren't convinced of Human Rights Watch's anti-Israel bias after reading Mr. Bell's article, Mr. Roth's letter to the editor makes it an open-and-shut case.
