How "You didn't build that" became "He didn't say that"

What do you do when everybody's claiming your president said something, and you just know he didn't really say it, but all the video and all the audio and all the transcripts show that he did say it?

This is the dilemma faced by supporters of President Obama in the long wake of last week's "You didn't build that" speech.
Here's the part that Romney should repeat in ever ad, every speech, every internet post from now until election day.
If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help. There was a great teacher somewhere in your life. Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you’ve got a business -- you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen. The Internet didn’t get invented on its own. Government research created the Internet so that all the companies could make money off the Internet.
Other than the fact that the government did not build the internet so that people could make money off of it, he is actually saying that no one is responsible for their own success, or failure. It’s the hive mind, the tribal mind, the collectivist mind exposed.
