Obama Symbolism

Does the hypertrophied symbolism of the Obama team creep you out too?

Full disclosure, I did not vote for “O.” He’s too far to the Left for me. He’s a product of the most corrupt political machine in the country. His associates – the ones we know of – are crooks, racist bigots, terrorists and psychopaths. Oh, in addition to that, he has no qualifications for the toughest job in the world.
OK, so he’s my political opponent, so were many people who assumed office. What is it about Obama that makes me question his … mental state?

It’s the symbolism. He’s running for office and creates a fake “seal” for his podium.

During the campaign, he creates a “hand signal” to help his followers to identify themselves to each other; a kind of secret handshake, a Big “O” high five. Will we see Obama salutes after he assumes office?

He creates a symbol that’s turned into jewelry by his adoring fans. Who does this and when was it ever done? If you are old enough, you may remember.

He wins the election and the fake seal morphs into another sign: “Office of the President Elect.” What is this proving? What is this saying? What kind of a person does this?

The imagery of him looking up, at the heavens, not at his “people.” The messiah image is troubling for someone of so little accomplishment. An ego that has grown not as a result of having done things, but of “being.”

All fed, of course, by those who have roared their approval of their savior. Buoyed by slogans that have carried him over the threshold on the wings of change and hope.

There have been times and places where idealized posters of “Great Leaders” adorned the walls of buildings; where people greeted each other with hand signals and leaders assumed the positions of saviors of their people. But not in a Republic; not yet anyway.

Do you get the feeling that it’s all about “Him? “ The imagery is not about the country, it’s about the man. It’s not “morning in America” so much as “the man on horseback.” It’s not about your aspirations and what you want to accomplish; it’s about “Yes WE can.”

“Hope and Change” are not policy planks, they are aspirations built around an individual.

The result of all this imagery is a “cult of personality” feeling that’s not healthy in a free society.

As we enter the era of Obama, we are going to be “one people, one nation, one leader.”

"His associates – the ones we know of – are crooks, racist bigots, terrorists and psychopaths."

And at least two unrepentant terrorists.

I thought maybe he has a cousin in the sign business.

The ego insufferable, but then so are his ardent supporters, one of which told me it was time to get behind the winner. I don't think so. It's kinda smelly back there.
