Don't be neoconned again

Looks like the people who now bankroll National Review want a bigger war.

The lesson of Afghanistan has not sunk into the soft-boiled brains of the neocons yet. No one trusts Democrats on foreign policy any more, as there is always a 50/50 chance of a Democrat president.

But National Review is pimping war again.

The neocon rag proclaimed a few hours ago, "Putin’s War Has Isolated America’s Neo-Isolationists."

The neocons are gloating losers. No one in Congress is calling for our military to intervene. There are things we can do, but bombing another country into the stone age is not discussed.

The people who bomb for a living don't want to, as NATO is showing some sense in the early stages of this Russo-Ukrainian War.

<snip>

NATO was formed to stop the Soviet Union from taking over Europe.

The Scandinavians stood on the sideline.

Now they want in?

No thanks. We already have too many countries to defend because NATO doubled its size since the USSR dissolved on December 25, 1991, collapsing under the weight of its own economic and social failure.

The United States should firmly tell Finland and Sweden to take a hike. In the face of evil, they stood on the sidelines while the Czechs, the Hungarians, the Poles and others trapped in the clutches of the USSR fought bravely from within.

We should have dissolved NATO by now. Presidents Bush and Clinton failed us. Bush kept it. Clinton expanded it. I want to discard it.

Don Surber: "How the media blew the Syria story"

This morning at 8, BBC posted a story, "Turkey's Erdogan 'threw Trump's Syria letter in bin.'" It was Fake News.

This afternoon at 2, President Donald John Trump announced Erdogan agreed to a cease-fire along the Syrian border.

Once again, the press got the story all wrong. President Trump knew what he was doing and succeeded where his predecessors had failed. He removed American troops in order to bring peace to a section of the Middle East. He used tariffs, not soldiers, to force the issue.

The Washington press corps covering President Trump is incompetent and corrupt as it violates the public trust by deliberately trying to sabotage the man the American people elected president.

President Trump's mediation of the Kurd-Turk dispute is award-worthy. The press blew the story by attacking our president. Amid all the false reports of coming calamity and impending genocide, I advised readers to Trust Trump. He earned it.

And of course I was right because getting President Trump right is the easiest thing in the world to do. Just accept that he is better informed than the press, and he knows what he is doing.

But the media is a bunch of garbage peddlers. You have your garbage collectors who help keep America clean and safe, and then you have your garbage producers at CNN and the like.

The fog of war expelled by the American media was a historic embarrassment to anyone who is now or has ever been a member of the Fourth Estate. Obamanauts -- including generals -- were allowed to say whatever they wanted to try to undermine President Trump's peace efforts without bothering (in most cases) to allow the Trump administration to respond.

Crazy talk of genocide filled the cable airwaves.

ABC was caught using training footage from Kentucky to depict a non-existent "Slaughter in Syria."

Has it issued an on-air apology or correction yet?

Now that a deal has been cut, I expect the media to take potshots at it before dropping the subject entirely. Once again, President Trump has achieved the impossible and the media will deny him credit because they did everything they could to prevent peace from breaking out.

Read the whole thing.

No Democrats, you don't get your virginity back

Don Surber

Now that Bill Clinton and his trashy wife are politically impotent, Democrats want a do over on Paula Jones -- you know the state employee Governor Bill Clinton tried to force to fellate him.

She sued. His lawyers deposed him. He perjured himself (and tried to suborn perjury from others) about his consensual affair with That Woman, Miss Lewinsky.

Perjury and suborning perjury can be felonies, and certainly are impeachable offenses. Democrats played it as everyone lies about sex, and he beat the rap.

Sex is private, right?

Now, all of Washington wants to strip Alabama of the right to elect Roy Moore, and Democrats find themselves on the outside looking in.

So now there are a bunch of articles about how, oh, I believe Juanita Broaddrick (who claims Clinton raped her).

That's nice.

It is irrelevant.

Clinton is irrelevant, and Broaddrick's story is hearsay. Sorry. Absent a conviction or admission of guilt, it is just gossip.

But things may have been better had people believed her when we still could have had a police investigation, indictment, and trial. You know, all the things that make us civilized instead of the boys in "Lord of the Flies."

Besides, it wasn't just Clinton.

It was Ted Kennedy and Clarence Thomas.

Democrats -- and frankly, most Republicans -- were cool with keeping Kennedy in the Senate after he got drunk, ditched his car in the water, and left a woman to die.

And 22 years later, Democrats wanted to deny Thomas a seat on the Supreme Court because a woman said he put a hair on a can of Coca-Cola.

I say to heck with them.

I advise my friends and relatives in Alabama to vote for Roy Moore. He can always be expelled if he's guilty. We cannot expel Doug Jones if Moore is cleared.

Maybe Republicans want to lose the House

Don Surber:

Mike Kelly was the Erie, Pennsylvania, car dealer who challenged Democratic Congresswoman Kathy Dahlkemper in the Tea Party Year of 2010, and beat her by 10 points. His margins of victory were bigger in 2012 and 2014, and last year he ran unopposed.

Home from Washington this month, Congressman Kelly sees an America the media does not see.

From Fox Business News:

"Back home, people aren't mad at the president. They're mad at the Republican Party for not working with the president to try and get things done," said Rep. Mike Kelly (R., Pa.), who said he hears complaints while doing errands at Wal-Mart in a district that Mr. Trump handily won.

How Republican lawmakers respond to such frustration -- and whether they move past the health defeat or get swept back into that fight -- will determine whether the GOP-led Congress returns as a unified force. August is the longest recess of the year, and constituents can both energize and draw energy from lawmakers who appear at town halls and other meetings.
Many Republicans are worried that an inability to deliver major legislative accomplishments would result in significant GOP losses in midterm congressional elections. Although Republicans have a favorable map in 2018 that should bolster their chances of holding their Senate majority, GOP strategists see a greater risk of losing control of the House.
The story went on about polls and the like which show gloom and doom for Republicans hanging on to the House.

Certainly the Senate is unhelpful.

And what is Paul Ryan's incentive to stay on as speaker? He could make five to ten times as much money as a lobbyist. He's never going back to Wisconsin. He is a creature of the swamp. He has lived in Janesville only one year since turning 18, and that was to run for Congress the first time. College in Ohio followed by living in Washington.

Eric Cantor lost a primary to David Brat. Cantor was rewarded with a nice lobbying job.

'Tis their nature. Washington has become a magnet for men of weak will and poor character.

Trump trolled the media to cover Obamagate

Don Surber: (read the whole thing)

One month ago today, President Trump tweeted, "Terrible! Just found out that Obama had my "wires tapped" in Trump Tower just before the victory. Nothing found. This is McCarthyism!"

I read the tweet, finished my coffee, and an hour later explained to my readers exactly what Trump did.

Hate to say I told you so. But I did.

Oh whom am I kidding? I love saying I told you so.

From that first post -- "Obama wire-tapped Trump Tower" -- forward, I have offered mine observations on Obamagate.

And I told you so.

From that first post:

President Trump offered no "proof," which should fake the Fake News media into jumping all over him. Then, when the Trump-is-crazy calls reach a peak, boom, out comes the proof that Obama indeed used the power of his office to spy on a political opponent.

Like clockwork, the media hopped on the story, portraying President Trump as a madman.

They called him a fool.

From the Washington Post:
Trump, citing no evidence, accuses Obama of ‘Nixon/Watergate’ plot to wiretap Trump Tower
From the New York Times:
Trump, Offering No Evidence, Says Obama Tapped His Phones
From the Hill:
Dems tear into Trump over Obama wiretapping claims
From the Hill:
Top Obama adviser to Trump: 'No president can order a wiretap'
From the Washington Post:
Donald Trump was a conspiracy-theory candidate. Now he's on the edge of being a conspiracy-theory president.
President Trump is crazy.

Like a fox.

See if I am not right.

The night before his tweet, CNN's spy camera caught Trump acting angry in the Oval Office. The media portrayed this as anger over the Fake News about Trump being Russia's puppet.....

Bottom line:

They never learn. They will fall for the errant tweet -- the well-timed gaffe -- again and again because the people in the media are not very bright.

This is not Eighth Dimensional Chess in Outer Space Underwater with Sharks.

This is Tic Tac Toe.

And he is letting them go first.

Still they lose because after all these years they refuse to accept that Donald Trump -- a mere billionaire -- is smarter than them.

Why libs oppose Bernie's call to have cops investigate campus rapes

We know why liberals do not want cops investigating accusation of rape, because most of them are false.

How do I "know" this?

The Duke lacrosse case.

UVA.

Mattress Girl.

Plus numerous other times women perjured and got away with it. Seldom are cops allowed to investigate because that may lead to perjury charges.

But you must understand, feminists do not care if women are raped. Look at the New Year's Eve rapes of thousands of women because they are white Christians by hordes of Muslim men. The attacks were coordinated and aimed at striking fear in Europeans. It is 700 AD again.

Nary a peep from any American liberals about that real Culture of Rape. It does not push their anti-American, anti-Western agenda.
