Just when you think you have safely surfed the latest tsunami of pacifascist bullshit, here comes another giant wave: Panties for Peace CAMPAIGN Panties for Peace - CanadaWhat can panties do for peace in Burma?
The Panties for Peace campaign plays on the regime leaders' superstitious fear that contact with a woman's underpants will rob them of their power. Women around the world are asked to post their panties to local Burmese embassies in a bid to strip the regime of its power and bring an end to its gross violations of human rights, especially those committed against Burma's women.
Now this is not your standard variety of homegrown American pacifascist crapola, it is the much more stinky Canadian pacifascist crapola. In either case, we can assume that -- regardless of how they feel about panties -- the regime is not exactly shaking in their boots when the mail arrives. After all, they are real fascists and can always order their slaves to open the mail.
Let's review: On the one hand you have a totalitarian regime with all the guns and ammo hard at work every day making sure their people keep on dying in increasing numbers and utterly impervious to any criticism from the outside world. Check.
On the other hand you have a group self-described as:
The Panties for Peace campaign in Quebec and across Canada is led by a coalition of feminist and civil society organizations* coordinated by the Montreal-based Federation des Femmes du Quebec (Quebec Women̢۪s Federation) and the Rights & Democracy Student Network.
We're talking hard-core pacifascist intellectual insanity here folks. We're talking cutting-edge drivel and blather. We are also talking about some people with serious hygiene and sanitary issues if we assume that the panties to be posted will be worn but not washed.
