The Most Wildly Inappropriate Statement Ever?

Despite having a two decades record of associating with people like Rezko, Wright, Pfleger, Dorn, Ayers and other disreputable people in Chicago's South Side, Obama has the chutzpa to say:

I’m saddened by today’s verdict. This isn’t the Tony Rezko I knew, but now he has been convicted by a jury on multiple charges that once again shine a spotlight on the need for reform. I encourage the General Assembly to take whatever steps are necessary to prevent these kinds of abuses in the future.

Xerox, copy and repeat after every unsavory person from his past. How long with the Drive-by-Media be able to ignore this before people start laughing out loud?

Guilt by association? Well, if you belonged to the KKK, the Nazis, the communist party or al Qaida, does that mean anything? Is that a reflection of your beliefs or your character?

People who deny this are not arguing in good faith. We all judge people by who they befriend, by the people they hang around with, the groups they join. I assume that members of PETA are animal lovers and are pretty determined to enforce their beliefs.

If you are a Republican, Democrat, Libertarian, Maoist, or a member of Greenpeace we are entitled to make some kind of judgement about your values. To have supported the Communist Party during the Stalin era, it will not do to say that "Old Joe" isn't the kind of person I knew. Adolph Hitler is reported to have loved dogs and was adored by his secretaries, and today we marvel at the people who loved him. We do not plan to give them the reins of power over our lives, having been incredibly poor judges of character, if not lying skunks.

I don't doubt that Obama is saddened by his mentor's conviction, but the rest of his statement is from outer space. "This isn't the Tony Rezko I knew." Deja vu, anyone? I could swear I've heard it somewhere before. Sure enough--the racist, anti-American Rev. Wright whom we've all seen on video wasn't the Rev. Wright whom Obama knew for 20 years, either. And the outrageously bigoted Father Pfleger wasn't the Pfleger whom Obama assiduously supported with earmarks--another form of political corruption.

Obama seems to suffer from a singular inability to "know" his most intimate associates. One day soon, will a "saddened" Obama tell us that the Michelle Obama we see on video is "not the Michelle Obama I knew?" Time will tell.

I marvel at the crap that the MSM is willing to swallow for Obama.
