Civilization Is History at Yale
Yale announced last week that it will stop teaching its famous survey course, “Introduction to Art History: Renaissance to the Present.” Taught for decades by Vincent Scully, one of Yale’s most celebrated professors, the course was a riveting introduction to pulse of humanism.
It is being cashiered for all the usual reasons. Its focus is too white, too European, too male, too “problematic,” as Tim Barringer, chairman of the art history department, puts it. Mr. Barringer will substitute a course that challenges such Eurocentrism and promises to be very up-to-date. Mr. Barrginer says he’ll introduce a “global” perspective. Naturally, he writes, the course will consider art in relation to “questions of gender, class and ‘race.’ ” (Why the scare quotes around “race”? Is today one of those days when race is only a social construct?) It will also ponder art’s “involvement with Western capitalism.”
Globalism, gender, class, race, capitalism. Has Mr. Barringer neglected any trendy concern? How about the Greta Thunberg gambit? On it! Art’s “relationship with climate change will be a ‘key theme,’ ” the Yale Daily News reports.
The Daily News adds that the removal of “Introduction to Art History” is “the latest response to student uneasiness over an idealized Western ‘canon’—a product of an overwhelmingly white, straight, European and male cadre of artists.”
It is also yet another sign that Yale has succumbed to a life-draining decadence. A decadent institution isn’t necessarily impoverished or licentious. Rather, it is desiccated because it has lost the life-giving pith of its purpose. To a casual observer, a decadent institution may look healthy. The buildings may be expensive, well-kept and plentiful. Tidy, well-heeled people may bustle about. But the animating élan has evaporated. A decadent institution is one that has repudiated itself.
All in all, I'm glad that I never attended Yale, Harvard or any of the other "elite" universities that are busy committing intellectual and political suicide.
The political philosopher James Burnham once observed that “suicide is probably more frequent than murder as the end phase of a civilization.” As Yale has been demonstrating for some years now, elite institutions are eager to take the lead.

Ukrainian Prosecutor Demands Ukraine Prosecute Joe Biden
Ukrainian ex-Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin has demanded that the State Bureau of Investigations (SBI) open criminal proceedings against former U.S. Vice President Joseph Biden for illegal influence on him as the prosecutor general of Ukraine....
"During the last months of 2015 and the first of 2016, Joseph Biden, using his official position, personally paid official visits to Ukraine several times with the aim of holding negotiations with the state leaders on my removal from my post. As a result, he curtailed an objective investigation criminal proceedings on the facts of unlawful activities of persons associated with the company Burisma Holdings Limited (Cyprus), including the son of the specified high-ranking official," Shokin said.

Leader Of 'The Base' Militant Group Revealed As Intelligence Contractor, Suspected Federal Agent
Is this how the FBI catches "White Supremacists Nazis?" By creating these groups and having their agents join?
Readers will no doubt be shocked to learn the leader of the "white supremacist neo-Nazi terrorist group" the Base is an intelligence contractor and appears to be a federal agent.
In truth, it'd probably be more shocking to learn he wasn't a fed.
As the KKK was dwindling, it was revealed that more than a few members were FBI agents.

Want to see how to slant the News? Read the AP.
This is called "begging the question" and it means that the conclusion is assumed in the premise. It's found more and more in the MSM today as they morph into Democrat operatives with bylines. In this article David Bauder operates as a Democrat shill.
Similarly, those who followed a conservative media diet were much more likely to believe the false narrative that former Vice President Joe Biden called for a Ukrainian prosecutor’s removal to protect his son from being investigated.
First, it is literally true that Biden got a Ukrainian prosecutor removed by threatening to withhold $1 billion in aid unless he was fired within 6 hours.
The prosecutor was fired.
The prosecutor was investigating corruption at Burisma.
Here's a report from The Hill, and one from Big League Politics.
From Fox News:
The fired prosecutor at the center of the Ukraine controversy said during a private interview with President Trump's personal attorney Rudy Giuliani earlier this year that he was told to back off an investigation involving a natural gas firm that was linked to Joe Biden’s son, according to details of that interview that were handed over to Congress by the State Department’s inspector general Wednesday.
Fox News obtained a copy of Giuliani’s notes from his January 2019 interview with fired Ukrainian prosecutor Viktor Shokin in which he claimed that his “investigations stopped out of fear of the United States.”
“Mr. Shokin attempted to continue the investigations but on or around June or July of 2015, the U.S. Ambassador Geoffrey R. Pyatt told him that the investigation has to be handled with white gloves, which according to Mr. Shokin, that implied do nothing,” the notes from the interview stated. The notes also claimed Shokin was told Biden had held up U.S. aid to Ukraine over the investigation.
So, who are you going to believe: the prosecutor, Joe Biden when he said he wanted to prosecutor fired, or David Bauder?
Local Snowflake Resents Being Compared To Fragile College Students
BILLINGS, MT—A local snowflake is speaking out after learning that snowflakes are being used to describe overprotected college students who are easily distressed by ideas that do not align with their worldview, sources confirmed.
“When I first heard the term ‘Generation Snowflake’ I thought it was a compliment,” said the feathery ice crystal, in a statement issued from a snowbank just off Route 318.
“Then I learned more about it, and I was appalled. Just because I’m uniquely designed by God, I’m not entitled to go through life never facing hardship or having my beliefs challenged. Where did that idea come from?”
“I mean, could these young people plummet 10,000 feet in subzero conditions, with style and serenity?” the precipitant went on. “We don’t demand safe spaces from kids’ scalding hot tongues. We don’t ask for trigger warnings every time a dog starts sniffing around. Enough is enough.”
“To call them snowflakes is an insult to snowflakes everywhere,” it added.
In Major Deal, The Babylon Bee Purchases Competing Satire Site CNN
U.S.—The Babylon Bee has been the world's best satire site for thousands of years, spawning dozens of secular knock-offs that just aren't quite as good.
The site announced a new acquisition this week, one that immediately made the site the largest satirical site on the planet: a purchase of competing satire site CNN for $12 billion. The move more than quadrupled the site's catalog of hilarious, satirical articles.
"We've long admired CNN's ability to parody leftist media organizations so effortlessly, and we're thrilled to have them under The Babylon Bee's umbrella," said site CEO Seth Dillon. "When you can't compete with hilarious satire like CNN, you obviously look for ways to get them on your team, and an acquisition seemed to make the most sense."
The Democrat Party is at war with America
Amil Imani, an Iranian immigrant gets to the fundamental truth of our current political and cultural dilemma. Immigrants often have the perspective on reality that natives lack.
President Trump's opponents mostly are from the camp of Hillary Clinton– and Barack Obama–supporters. Both Obama and Clinton were students of Saul Alinsky. Alinsky was a self-professed radical, obsessed with leftist ideology. Moreover, the Left, rooted in Marxism, is atheistic and steeped in multicultural moral relativism. Hence, the pro-American nationalism of President Trump — his campaign slogan of "Make America Great Again" — infuriates the Left, which flatters itself as being internationalist or "cosmopolitan" as well as the trend of the future...
It seems the entire liberal world has combined its efforts to take Trump out at all cost. In this devilish process, the left has exposed its true nature.
I have stated many times that multiculturalism and the doctrine of moral relativism are destroying the moral fabric of America. Moral relativism is the core of the social sciences, hence of sociology, anthropology, psychology, and political science. It corrupts judges, opinion-makers, policymakers, and decision-makers.
Moral relativism denies the existence of evil. This doctrine is evident in the writings and pro-Palestinian attitude of former President Barack Obama. It was evident in the American policy of détente vis-à-vis the Soviet Union.
This Democrat Party no longer hides its agenda. They now openly encourage millions of illegal aliens to violate our laws and break into our country, and they want to sign them up for free welfare, free health care, and free education — and the right to vote with the help of their ace in the hole, the "Fake News" media....
The radical left enjoys controlling people from cradle to grave. (Sounds like Muslims.) They want socialism. They want to be in charge for eternity. The leftist agenda recommends denial of personal responsibility, encourages self-pity and fosters government reliance, promotes sexual indulgence, rationalizes violence, excuses financial obligation, justifies theft, ignores rudeness, prescribes complaining and blaming, promotes sharia law, denigrates the sanctity of marriage and the family, legalizes all abortion, defies religious and social tradition, declares inequality unjust, and rebels against the duties of citizenship and much more.

What kind of idiot brings a sword to a gunfight?
Despite what Richard Weaver so eloquently tells us, ideas don't matter, not at all. What matters is power. And power, indeed, has consequences.
"Now I will tell you the answer to my question. It is this. The Party seeks power entirely for its own sake. We are not interested in the good of others; we are interested solely in power, pure power. What pure power means you will understand presently. We are different from the oligarchies of the past in that we know what we are doing. All the others, even those who resembled ourselves, were cowards and hypocrites. The German Nazis and the Russian Communists came very close to us in their methods, but they never had the courage to recognize their own motives. They pretended, perhaps they even believed, that they had seized power unwillingly and for a limited time, and that just around the corner there lay a paradise where human beings would be free and equal. We are not like that. We know that no one ever seizes power with the intention of relinquishing it. Power is not a means; it is an end. One does not establish a dictatorship in order to safeguard a revolution; one makes the revolution in order to establish the dictatorship. The object of persecution is persecution. The object of torture is torture. The object of power is power. Now you begin to understand me.” Orwell
There is no need to debate ideas when all the Right Ideas are already known, already catalogued, indexed, memorized, and endlessly regurgitated. Argument is pointless when you simply OWN all the right answers. True Believers in the very best Eric Hoffer sense, the Truth the Progressive Left preaches is one revealed only by Dogma.
Climate change burns Australia, mudslides California, and endlessly tornadoes the Plains. Men can become women and women men; they simply have to think it so. Of course ALL restrooms should contain tampon dispensers (only a bigot would believe otherwise). A kiss is not just a kiss -- it is a sexual assault. The best way to end racial discrmination (pardon me Chief Justice!) is absolutely to continue to discriminate on the basis of race. Guilt is blood-borne; equally victimhood. Merit is a lie. Quality is injustice. Inclusivity is everything (save for all those bad racist, sexist, patriarchal, male, cis-gendered, heteronormative capitalists -- them we MUST exclude: "Lean Back All You Evil People, and SHUT-UP!" (Senator Hirono sez so!).
Go down the list. Pull the Chatty Cathy cord. The answers come out embossed, and stamped indelibly on every Progressive talking head: homosexuality is just a more likable form of normal (did we mention the higher lesbian orgasm rate?) Can we start a Drag Queen reading hour? Disparate Impact reveals always systemic, micro-aggressive, subconcsious bias (and there's nothing you can do about it). To be colorblind is to be racist. Fossil Fuels are sins. Logic is oppression. Standards are hatred. These lists of Correct Thoughts are endless.
And everything's a litmus test. Tell us how you feel about Colin Kapernick's knee....Al Franken's tongue....the number of Black headcoaches in the NFL today.... and the fact that the American College Quad is the most dangerous place in the world to be a woman. Tell us if you went to see Little Women. Tell us about Affirmative Consent. Tell us what is NOT toxic about masculinity (be careful, that's a trick question!).
Ideas? Hell, ideas have absolutely nothing to do with anything in the socio-political swamp.
But being a card-carrying Progressive Party member who can recite chapter and verse (Trump is the Devil! Say it again!)....that's priceless.
Media Stupidity Is Uniting Left and Right
Matt Taibbi is partly wrong and partly right. He has the Left's misunderstanding about Trump and his beliefs. But he understands, like no one else in the Liberal Press understands, that the media are committing political suicide.
When Trump jumped into the presidential race in 2015, it would have been easy enough for members of the media to decry his ignorance, personal and professional venality, and racism.
But they couldn’t help themselves, declaring every word out of his mouth a Satanic lie. This made the occasional things that he said that were true, like that Jeb Bush was a puppet for corporate donors or NATO was a bloated and outdated organization, pack significantly more punch.
The transparent full-of-shitness of the corporate press reaction to Trump was probably the leading argument for his credibility. Trump wrongly pushed voters to blame minorities and foreigners, and when he did identify correct targets for public opprobrium, like Goldman Sachs, it wasn’t believable that he would oppose them in office. But media figures gave his “drain the swamp” message a huge boost by scoffing at it with their inimical obnoxiousness.
They then spent years doubling down, backing conspiracy theories about espionage with Russia, mis-predicting the end of the Trump presidency, and, yes, employing tactics like body–language analysis to say all sorts of silly things (“What is Donald Trump hiding? His body language says it all,” wrote Newsweek, interviewing an analyst who’d made “interesting observations about Hitler’s salutes”).
People in the media business underestimate, by a lot, the damage the last three years have done to their ability to reach not just Trump fans but non-Trump Republicans, independents, libertarians, Greens, and other groups. The latest fiascoes with Sanders double as confirmation for these people of their worst conclusions about media, and an additional insult that such goofball messaging is only now attracting the notice of some on the “other side. “
Sanders now looks poised to receive the same kind of bump Trump got in 2016 from media stupidity. As was the case this past summer when the Bezos-owned Washington Post went so far as to put the term “corporate media” in quotation marks while denouncing Bernie’s “bogus media beef,” the institutional dismissal has been so over-the-top that it’s likely to earn him sympathy even with disinterested parties. Is there a word for propaganda in reverse?

Why Are Bernie Bros So Violent?
From Powerline:
I am starting to get the feeling that James Hodgkinson wasn’t a one-off. James O’Keefe’s Project Veritas has been conducting an undercover investigation of the Bernie Sanders campaign. We wrote here and here about a Project Veritas investigator’s conversations with one of Sanders’ “top tier organizers” in Iowa. The Bernie Bro expressed admiration for the Soviet Gulags, said billionaires should be sentenced to breaking rocks, and suggested that anyone who opposes Sanders’ revolutionary policies would be shot.
It turns out there are more pro-violence Bernie Bros where Hodgkinson and the first organizer came from. O’Keefe has now released another video, this time of a South Carolina field organizer. It’s weird: I had no idea that there are at least two admirers of Russian Gulags in the U.S.:
When you begin to suspect that politicians who admire the Soviet Union and call for revolution mean exactly what they say

Democrats hid the aid Trump sent to Puerto Rico. This is a crime.
BREAKING: Puerto Rico's Secretary of State confirms more warehouses on the island are still stocked w/ aid.— Michael Coudrey (@MichaelCoudrey) January 22, 2020
Puerto Rico’s elected officials quite possibly deliberately withheld aid from their people who were suffering.
They should be removed from office.pic.twitter.com/Q2s8kSY4m6
From the comments:
They let people die so Trump would look bad.
They should be prosecuted for numerous grave charges - especially as it seems obvious someone had a plan to "salt" these in later with general sales & pocket the money.
These are treasures - no one overlooks this high value aid or "forgets" about it - this was orchestrated
Remember how the media made Trump look like he was evil for calling out this corruption.. Now they are crickets when they should be apologising and acknowledging the truth! Trump was right once again!...
Unbelievable. Intentionally withholding aid to victims of a natural disaster just to make your political opponent look bad is a crime against humanity. How many people died for lack of that aid? Sick....
Shall we hold our breath waiting for the mainstream media to deliver their apologies to Trump? Puerto Rico is plagued by corruption and incompetence.

Take impeachment as seriously as Nadler takes a diet
Funeral marches are bad television.
On Wednesday, House leaders walked the impeachment papers to the Senate. And in case you may have missed that, on Thursday, House leaders again walked the impeachment papers to the Senate. It was the most exercise Jerry Nadler had since he heard rumors they were giving away free donuts at the House gym....
The redundant impeachment marches were walks of shame that reminded everyone of the failure of Mueller to pin anything related to Russian collusion by President Donald John Trump, his family, or his associates.
Democrats have been pushing an impeachment for 3 years with terrible television featuring ugly, smug, little people with a DMV attitude toward government service.

Trump's Lawyers Formally Answer Articles of Impeachment
The president's legal counsel formally responded to the two articles of impeachment leveled against the president, abuse of power and obstruction of Congress. The deadline for House Democrats to file their trial brief was 5 p.m EST on Saturday. The president's answer to the two articles was due just an hour later. ..
"The articles of impeachment submitted by House Democrats are a dangerous attack on the right of the American people to freely choose their president," ..."This is a brazen and unlawful attempt to overturn the results of the 2016 election and interfere with the 2020 election, now just months away. This highly partisan and reckless obsession with impeaching the president began even before his election and continues to this day."
Trump's counsel argued the impeachment articles are "constitutionally invalid on their face" and are the result of a "lawless" House inquiry that violated basic principles of fairness and due process.
"The Articles of Impeachment now before the Senate are an affront to the Constitution of the United States, our democratic institutions, and the American people. The Articles themselves -- and the rigged process that brought them here -- are a transparent political act by House Democrats. They debase the grave power of impeachment and the solemn responsibility that power entails. They must be rejected."
...
"In order to preserve our constitutional structure of government, to reject the poisonous partisanship that the Framers warned against, to ensure one-party political impeachment vendettas do not become the 'new normal,' and to vindicate the will of the American people, the Senate must reject both Articles of Impeachment. In the end, this entire process is nothing more than a dangerous attack on the American people themselves and their fundamental right to vote."
How a Democratic Governor and the Mainstream Media Tried to Delegitimize a Civil Rights Rally Before It Even Started
Ralph “Coonman” Northam and his merry band of Democrats are trying their best to take a fundamental Constitutional right away from Virginians. They need to be recalled and replaced.
Need to research the right of recall in Virginia.
I spent my formative years in Virginia, and I’ve proudly watched how gun owners have responded to the constitutional threats coming from the Democratic legislature. This campaign to paint the gun rights rally as another Charlottesville slanders all those hard-working, law-abiding gun owners who want to protect their constitutional right to keep and bear arms.
Friends of mine in Virginia have defended the governor and argued that threats of violence should never be taken lightly when thousands of people are crammed into a few square blocks. I get that, and I’ve advocated against openly carried firearms at large public rallies. If someone does start shooting, it’s almost impossible for law enforcement to tell the good guys from the bad.
It’s also worth noting that the rally is still taking place. The governor hasn’t gone so far as to ban peaceful protest, and his rhetoric doesn’t appear to have discouraged attendees.
But Gov. Northam and the media have engaged in a blatant campaign to delegitimize Monday’s rally. Rather than focus on the massive grassroots uprising against restrictive gun bans, the media has obsessed about “another Charlottesville” and “out of state militia groups.” Their coverage and the governor’s overblown “state of emergency” allow the rally to be dismissed as nothing more than the unhinged complaints of white supremacists and crazies.
It’s insulting, it’s slanderous, and it needs to be proven wrong. I hope the rally goes off without a hitch, tens of thousands of people attend, and the country sees what can happen when elitist politicians threaten the constitutional rights of law-abiding citizens.
Need to research the right of recall in Virginia.
Martha McSally did everyone a huge favor by calling these clowns out.
Toughen up Buttercup. CNN better get ready for much more of what Martha McSally dished out.
Martha McSally did everyone a huge favor by calling these clowns out. The visceral hypocrisy of CNN clutching their pearls when Trump attacks the news media while they themselves throw haymakers at conservatives and accuse them of duping the American people needs to be exposed, and it needs to be exposed often.
For decades the left has demonized Fox News and other right wing outlets, the response from the conservative movement in the past has been to say, “come on guys, we’re not that bad.” Well that time is over. There is a new conservative movement and this one doesn’t play that game, this one is ready to punch back just as the good senator from Arizona did Thursday afternoon.

'I'm The Student Loan Fairy And I'm Here To Pay Off Your Debts!' Cries Elizabeth Warren While Dangling On Wires Above College Kids
From the newspaper of record; the Babylon Bee
BOSTON, MA—Students in the dining hall at Boston University were in for a surprise when presidential hopeful Elizabeth Warren suddenly appeared above their heads, wearing pink fairy wings and holding a magic wand.
“I am the Student Loan Fairy and I’m here to pay off all your debts!” exclaimed the Democratic candidate as she slowly descended from the rafters, “Bippidi-boppidi-boo! Have some fairy dust!”
Todd Freeman, a Canadian Studies major, was eating a deconstructed avocado sandwich when he looked up to see Warren dangling from some clearly visible stage wires.
“She was just kind of awkwardly trying to steady herself while she waved her wand about and threw handfuls of glitter at us,” Freeman said, “Then she kind of lost control of the bag of glitter and just dumped it all over my table. It got in my eyes, and I’ve taken three showers and still can’t get it all out of my hair.” Luckily for Freeman, though, learning to get glitter out of things is the most practical thing he's learned at college so far.

Here's One Unverified File the Feds Won't Leak: About Loretta Lynch
What is known, based on press leaks and a letter Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley sent Lynch, is that in March 2016, the FBI received a batch of hacked documents from U.S. intelligence agencies that had access to stolen emails stored on Russian networks. One of the intercepted documents revealed an alleged email from then-DNC Chairwoman Wasserman Schultz to an operative working for billionaire Democratic fundraiser George Soros. It claimed Lynch had assured the Clinton campaign that investigators and prosecutors would go easy on the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee regarding her use of a private email server while serving as secretary of state. Lynch allegedly made the promise directly to Clinton political director Amanda Renteria.

Mark Steyn on why "GOP Inc." is such a loser!
Steyn wrote this when Trump was campaigning for the Republican nomination. It's amazing how true it is, how much has changed and how much change is still needed.
If the national GOP is a vehicle for ensuring that John Boehner, Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan have a car and driver and a Gulf emir-sized retinue, then it's very effective. If it's a vehicle for advancing conservative principles, then it's a rusted-up lemon on cinder blocks. At an event with Newt Gingrich about a decade ago, one of my neighbors asked why the Republicans were so ineffectual. Newt said it was because they're still getting used to being the majority party. Somebody responded, "So the Iraqis are supposed to get the hang of self-government after six months, but the Republican Party still can't manage it after ten years?"
For many conservative voters, 2014 was the GOP's last chance, and they blew it. For those conservative voters whose priority is immigration, 2016 is America's last chance, and Trump's the only reason anyone's even talking about that.

Unskilled foreigners seek move to Canada
OTTAWA – A British and American couple, both unemployed, are seeking to emigrate to Canada despite having no real skills to offer the country, early reports indicate....
On the streets, reactions were mixed among Canadians with some welcoming the fleeing couple, while others feared that Harry would illegally take away ceremonial jobs from hard working Canadians.
The ribbon-cutting and handshaking industries in Canada have been hit hard leaving many politicians and dignitaries out of work.
“I’m not against royal immigration, but they can really mess up a neighbourhood, what with their excessive wealth and palaces,” said Stuart Barton of Toronto. “And they’ll force you to call them ‘Your Royal Highness’ and bring their families with them including that uncle who’s a sex offender. I think they should get out.”

Michael Flynn withdraws guilty plea
Flynn’s legal team filed a motion with the U.S. District Court in Washington less than two weeks before he was scheduled to be sentenced. They say the guilty plea should be vacated “because of the government’s bad faith, vindictiveness, and breach of the plea agreement.”
“Mr. Flynn will not plead guilty. Furthermore, he will not accede to the government’s demand that he ‘disavow’ any statements made in his filings since he obtained new, unconflicted counsel,” defense attorney Sidney Powell wrote.

Remembering James Hodgkinson
Can we be honest? Bernie Sanders is a Communist who makes speeches calling for a revolution. In that respect, he has a lot in common with Vladimir Lenin who ushered in the Russian Revolution. Recall how that turned out?
The Democrats are threatening violence against regular Americans is they don't get their way. The Democrat who shot and tried to murder Representative Scalise was a "Bernie Bro." When you call for a revolution, lots of people take you seriously.
James O’Keefe released a series of videos today that feature a Bernie Sanders campaign worker named Kyle Jurek. They are in the usual undercover format used by Project Veritas. Jurek says many shocking things. He promises that Milwaukee will “burn” if Sanders doesn’t get the Democratic nomination, and vows to attack police officers. He endorses the Soviet Gulag in particular, and Communist re-education camps in general. He talks about “revolution” and suggests that anyone who opposes the Bernie Sanders revolution will be shot. He comes out against free speech. Jurek advocates sentencing billionaires to hard labor “breaking rocks” and approves of Antifa. His language is vulgar and threats of violence are interspersed through his conversation....
One Democrat on Twitter described Jurek as “a random, drunk, low-level organizer for Bernie.” That’s really the question: how typical of the Bernie movement is this thoroughly disgusting creature? O’Keefe says the Jurek videos are only the beginning, and he hints that there are more videos coming, featuring more Sanders employees and volunteers. We will see....
The liberal press has tried to bury the fact that Hodgkinson, a Sanders volunteer and hard-core labor unionist, shot up a group of Republican Congressmen, and would have succeeded in murdering the House Majority Whip, but for the miracles of modern medicine. In that case, Sanders was quick to condemn political violence. If asked, I suppose he would distance himself from Jurek, too. But how many more are there where Hodgkinson and Jurek came from? How extreme is the Bernie Sanders movement, really?
Just imagine what the mainstream media would say if this was an @realDonaldTrump staffer threatening to go inside @MSNBC studios and drag pundits out by their hair and light them on fire in the streets.— James O'Keefe (@JamesOKeefeIII) January 14, 2020

What a lost prison manuscript reveals about the real Nelson Mandela
These are quotes. Who does this sound like?
Right now, it could be any random Democrat in Congress or most of them running for President. But in this case, it's the sainted Nelson Mandela.
Travelers have told me that South Africa is a land of much natural beauty. It's also a place that deserves this Travel Advisory.
Much like Chicago.
‘I hate all forms of imperialism, and I consider the US brand to be the most loathsome and contemptible.’
‘To a nationalist fighting oppression, dialectical materialism is like a rifle, bomb or missile. Once I understood the principle of dialectical materialism, I embraced it without hesitation.’
‘Unquestionably, my sympathies lay with Cuba [during the 1962 missile crisis]. The ability of a small state to defend its independence demonstrates in no uncertain terms the superiority of socialism over capitalism.’
Right now, it could be any random Democrat in Congress or most of them running for President. But in this case, it's the sainted Nelson Mandela.
Officially, Mandela was a moderate black nationalist, clinging to hope of peaceful change until it was extinguished by the Sharpeville massacre of 1960. But in the prison memoir we find him plotting war as early as 1953, when he sent a comrade on a secret mission to beg guns and money from Red China, in flagrant violation of the ANC’s non-aligned and non-violent stance.
‘I was bitter and felt ever more strongly that SA whites need another Isandlwana,’ he explains. Driving around the country, Mandela constantly imagines rural landscapes as battlefields and cities as places where one day soon ‘the sweet air will smell of gunfire, elegant buildings will crash down and streets will be splashed with blood’
Travelers have told me that South Africa is a land of much natural beauty. It's also a place that deserves this Travel Advisory.
Exercise increased caution in South Africa due to crime, civil unrest, and drought.
Country Summary: Violent crime, such as armed robbery, rape, carjacking, mugging, and "smash-and-grab" attacks on vehicles, is common. There is a higher risk of violent crime in townships and the central business districts of major cities after dark.
Demonstrations, protests, and strikes occur frequently. Such events have the potential to turn violent. These can develop quickly without prior notification, often interrupting traffic, transportation, and other services.
Much like Chicago.

I You Care About Australia’s Wildlife: Please Don’t Give Money To PETA.
Well, if we begin to take a look at PETA’s Australia chapter, we can imagine why they are not first in line to help those poor koalas and kangaroos we keep hearing about on the news. For example, PETA’s Australia chapter received over $49 million in contributions in 2019, but only less than 1 percent went into actually helping troubled animals. The rest of the money, in true PETA fashion, was used on advertising, public disturbances, paying off celebrity spokespersons, and lobbying politicians and businesses into getting what they want and they want one thing, and one thing only-total animal “liberations”. This would mean no zoos, no aquariums, no responsible meat, or dairy consumption, no pets, no wildlife conservation efforts that require rehabilitation or breeding programs, and no use of animals for therapeutic purposes. PETA is also against the use of guide dogs for those who are blind. If that is not enough to throw you over the edge about who PETA is, they once compared farm animals to Jewish Holocaust victims in order to convince the public to switch over to a vegan lifestyle. In addition, they also have long ties to eco-terrorists groups such as the Animal Liberation Front, Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, and the Earth Liberation Front.
If you still think PETA still cares about animals, then you might start developing some second thoughts after hearing what I am about to tell you next. As of 2018, PETA has killed around 39,961 adoptable animals while only 3,459 animals, which is less than 7.31 percent of all animals that were taken in by the Virginia-based extremist group over a period of 20 years. According to government documents, PETA employees often kill the animals within 24 hours after taking them into custody and just to make matters worse, PETA’s very own “animal shelter”, which is located on the fourth floor of it’s headquarters, only consists of three rooms that are nestled among the cubicles and conference rooms that are used to discuss new plans to profit off of animal and wildlife tragedies in the name of “animal rights”. It’s implied that the shelter is also not accessible to the public. If this is the case, then this would mean that PETA does not operate as a facility that would meet the definition of an animal shelter, especially if they have no intention to find permanent homes for animals in need.

Making "almost" do all the heavy lifting
Trump almost started World War III. Trump almost catalyzed the entire destruction of the Kurds. Trump almost started war with North Korea. Trump almost started a full-blown war between the Palestinian-Arabs and the Israelis. Trump almost devastated the economy by slapping tariffs on Chinese goods. See how much heavy-lifting the word “almost” is doing? It’s utterly bizarre, because these predictions never happen.
The word’s subjunctive quality has become a shield for the media as they predict wild policy outcomes that have no grounding in the facts.
Don't forget that Trump is responsible for the world ending in 12 years because Trump has not done anything to stop the climate from changing.
Former National Security Council Staffer Mike Doran: I Know, For a Fact, That Members of the Obama Administration Sent Personal Letters to Iran's Terror Chief Qassem Suleimani
Are you curious what Obama told the terror chief?
WW III Didn't Happen, But Something Else Did
Soleimani killed thousands upon thousands, both Americans and others over the years. But secret war is never real until you put a face to it. Soleimani was the man, the Islamic Republic was the regime that no one was supposed to anger lest they turn their baleful glare on us instead of passing by to kill someone else.
That fact can't be hidden anymore, not even by the nuclear deal.
The end of the secret war phase has left Iran with the strategic problem of continuing a campaign it cannot afford to wage openly. But it also left Washington with a situation they can neither continue to deny nor fob off with nonbinding congressional resolutions. We have yet to learn how to survive in our globalized world with the monsters. As Andy McCarthy put it: "25 years ago today we started jury selection in the Blind Sheikh trial against jihadists who were making war on our country. The long war is not over, but our divisions are more threatening than our enemies. I wish I’d understood that better."
Reality Show Star Destroys Some Illusions
There are people who mock real Americans for electing the star of a reality show as president. But many of those same people seem to hang on to really bizarre illusions in the face of reality. For those who have eyes to see, many illusions have been shattered by Donald Trump's presidency. Does anybody here feel the same way about the bureaucracy in Washington D.C. as they did before Trump took office?
Recently, more illusions about the nature of the long war have been destroyed. Doesn't mean the media can't make up some new ones:
If anything may be gleaned from the recent hyperbolic reporting about Iran, it is that our media betters, particularly those reporting on national security issues, are deeply and inexorably challenged at providing reasonable and thoughtful analysis due to a blinding animus towards President Trump.
Nothing evinces this phenomenon more succinctly than the recent days in which supposedly serious national security reporters waxed poetic about the likelihood of World War III, while sharing unverified reports about tens of killings of Americans from Iranian state media. . . .
The level of breathless misinformation and disinformation spread after Iranian Gen. Qassem Soleimani's killing by the individuals we rely on supposedly to report facts and offer analysis in a responsible and undramatized manner was stunning. But this isn't their first rodeo.
No, such grossly hyperbolic reporting for the sake of convincing people that Trump may have created an epically destructive policy quagmire has become the new calling card of the media. The media has shown that they cannot eviscerate Trump with factual, state-of-affairs reporting because those affairs are never quite dire enough for the media. Similarly, for the sake of avoiding flat-out lying entirely (although it is entertaining to watch the "mistakes" go in one direction), the media is forced to cabin their criticism in fantastic projections.
See how much heavy-lifting the word "almost" is doing? It's utterly bizarre, because these predictions never happen. . . .
How did this situation come to be?
Well, for one thing, the press has been allowing itself to be fooled for a long time.
Correction: the press was in cahoots with the mythmakers who wanted to fool the American people.

What BF Skinner and Richard Feynman Can Tell Us about Iran
So now we have new excitement over Iran prompted by the killing of Qasem Soleimani. Some reminders: Soleimani had been responsible for the Iranian attempts at taking over Iraq, which killed thousands, and for bringing in the tactic of using IEDs in Iraq, which killed more than 600 Americans and maimed thousands. And, Soleimani was under UN sanctions and was — in theory — not permitted to travel outside Iran; clearly he had and was meeting with Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, deputy commander of Hashd al-Shaabi, the insurrectionist militia that had killed thousands of Iraqis.
Soleimani was an active duty military officer in theater; this wasn't an assassination.
There are thousands and thousands of words available explaining why Soleimani was a bad guy and a worthy target; I just wanted to summarize them for context.
I think there's a larger point here, something that BF Skinner showed with pigeons but that goes for people too: when you reward a behavior, you get more of it.
The Ghosts of Charlie Hebdo
The cowards in the press pretend to be brave. Here's a really brave man.
Instead of sharing the risk, the bigfoot media behaved exactly as they had a decade earlier. At my old London home The Daily Telegraph some gutless pansies decided that their reporting on the story could only be accompanied by carefully blurred images of the late cartoonists' work in order to avoid giving offense - turning Mohammed into a perpetually pixelated prophet, as if (to reprise a gag I did in 2005) poor ol' Mo's entered the witness protection program.
Which is in fact the precise opposite of what's going on: cowardly media pixelate Mohammed as a way of fast-tracking themselves into the witness protection program, or so they hope. On TV, one of the few surviving Charlie Hebdo staffers attempted to hold one of the offending covers on screen, only to have the camera lurch away. Around the world, the dead cartoonists' professional colleagues, almost to a man, agreed that the preferred response was some or other limpid, evasive, self-flattering variant of "the pen is mightier than the sword".
But that line doesn't work if your pen's filled with White-Out. Five years ago I quoted Andrew Stiles:
Journalists: These French journalists are so brave!
Readers: What did they do? Can I see?
Journalists: It's our policy not to show you.
But I see Mr Stiles' Tweet has somehow managed to disappear from the Internet. George Clooney held up a pencil and Dame Helen Mirren wore an exquisite pencil brooch pinned to her splendid embonpoint and thousands of tilty-headed wankers with sorrowful expressions marched through the streets of Paris waving pencils. But none of them was willing to do the one thing that mattered - and show what Charb et al had drawn with those pencils. By the following day I was good and sick of it:
To be honest, it makes me vomit to see people holding these Princess Dianafied candlelit vigils, and using the hashtag #JeSuisCharlie - I am Charlie -and in effect appropriating these guys' sacrifice for this bogus solidarity. It makes me sick to see all these 'the pen is mightier than the sword' cartoons that have appeared in newspapers all over the United States, Canada, Britain, Germany, France, Australia, everywhere, from other cartoonists, again expressing solidarity with these very brave men - but not doing what they did...
I've been on enough events in Europe with less famous cartoonists than these who live under death threats, live under armed guard, have had their family restaurant firebombed - it's happened to a Norwegian comedienne I know - have come home and found their home burned, as a Swedish artist I know happened to. And all these people doing the phony hashtag solidarity, screw your phony hashtag solidarity. Let's have some real solidarity - or if not, at least have the good taste to stay the hell out of it.
That would have been asking too much. In the days that followed almost all those who claimed to be expressing solidarity with Charb were, in fact, signaling very clearly that they preferred to live on their knees.
The Washington Post — message board for the Deep State
At Power Line, we sometimes refer to the Washington Post as an adjunct of the Democratic Party. To an even greater degree, the Post is an adjunct of official Washington — the cadre of career bureaucrats and former officials who consider it their God given right to set policy, regardless of what elected officials desire. (There is, of course, considerable overlap between official Washington and the Democratic Party).
Thus, it’s not surprising that a few minutes after I read Steve’s post called “Trump’s sin: Conducting foreign policy without permission,” I read this Washington Post story called “Trump is short on advisers, allies as he faces Iran crisis.” In this article, the Post argues, in essence, that Trump is committing the sin of conducting foreign policy without permission.
The Post’s article is silly. A president who lacks good foreign policy instincts can have all the advisers in the world. It won’t help. Similarly, a president with good instincts doesn’t need many advisers....
The Post attacks Trump for having criticized the CIA. But much of Trump’s criticism has been of its leadership, not of the rank and file employees who collect and analyze intelligence.
To be sure, Trump continues to remind the public of the CIA’s erroneous assessments regarding weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. He’s right to do so. This was an enormous mistake.
But this doesn’t mean, as the Post suggests, that Trump was wrong or hypocritical to rely on the CIA’s intelligence indicating that Soleimani was planning attacks on U.S. forces in Iraq. Soleimani had been orchestrating such attacks for years. It’s who he was and what he did. The CIA’s intelligence was consistent with everything we know about the terrorist. (So even if the CIA was wrong in thinking that Soleimani was planning more attacks last week, we can think of the assault that took him out as a well-deserved lifetime achievement award.)
In any case, the Post’s article about Trump not having enough advisers is nothing more than an airing of grievances of official Washington — the Deep State, if you prefer. And that’s true of much of what one reads in the Post’s news and op-ed sections.
To an unhealthy degree, the paper is the Deep State’s message board.

Near as I can tell, Soleimani was to be the keynote speaker at the DNC convention this summer. The struggle is real.
The headline is from a comment following this column:
American Trump Derangement Syndrome Is An Iranian Strategic Asset
What strikes me is how Trump Derangement Syndrome has overwhelmed the Democrat and media responses. This cannot be lost on the Iranians.
While the pleas for Mullah mercy from the likes of Rose McGowan and Michael Moore, and the woke rants of Colin Kaepernick, may be laughed off by the Mullahs as typical western weakness, the reaction of Democrat politicians is more serious and may lead to Iranian miscalculation that Americans will turn on Trump before they turn on the Mullahs.
It’s clear that Democrats are doing to the killing of Soleimani, who has the blood of thousands of Americans on his hands, what they did to Russia Collusion and every other anti-Trumpism that motivates their throbbing Trump-hating base.
If Iran is successful in attacking a U.S. target or targets, Democrats and the media will blame Trump, not the regime that has been chanting for our death since the 1979 Islamic Revolution in Iran. It’s not unreasonable to believe based on their behavior that Democrats and the media are hoping Iran gives us a bloody nose or worse so that it can be used against Trump in the 2020 election.

Richard Fernandez: The low chance of war with Iran
The war's no longer hidden and WWIII is not going to come because we killed the head snake.
With everyone wondering if Iran and the US will go to war it's pertinent to understand both nations are already in an undeclared conflict going back more than 40 years. "And often, it’s been a war that our political and intelligence elites have denied exists."
It began on November 4, 1979, when “radicals” loyal to Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini seized the U.S. Embassy in Tehran ... On April 18, 1983, a suicide bomber drove a truck full of explosives into the U.S. Embassy in Beirut, Lebanon ... Iran has also targeted U.S. soldiers on the battlefield, killing more than 1,000 U.S. troops with specialized improvised explosive devices in Iraq, placing a bounty on U.S. service personnel in Afghanistan, and most recently targeting U.S. forces in Syria.
The obvious question is why this conflict, which has claimed thousands of lives has remained in a state of limbo and why elites are at pains to deny it exists. One possible answer is that the combatants prefer it that way. Iran for its part is heavily engaged in proxy war with Saudi Arabia in far flung theaters including Syria, Yemen, Iraq, the Bahrain uprising, Lebanon and even Afghanistan. It can scarcely afford the additional cost of open conflict with the United States if it is to escape over-extension. It is in Iran's interest to keep its war with America undeclared so that it can pick and choose when to engage.
For analogous but different reasons Washington preferred it secret too. Undeclared conflicts are the only way to fight "forever wars" where the object is not the destruction of the enemy but rather its management and containment in such a way that the global public and markets don't notice.....
Hidden wars allows Western politicians to avoid World War 2 type political choices that might lead to binary outcomes like victory or defeat in favor of a chronic conflict flying just beneath the media radar. That way deal-making can continue with minor interruptions. From this perspective the really disruptive effect of Donald Trump's decision to kill Iranian IGRC chief Qassim Suleimani was not the kinetic act itself but in forcing what past administrations and Iran wanted hidden out into the open.
All of a sudden the issue of Iran can no longer be locked up in a dark closet. To the question: "What will the IRGC do now that it has not already done? Kidnap foreigners? Strike military bases? Sack embassies? Assassination attempts? Target GCC oil interests? Send out militias to crackdown on adversaries?" the answer is simple. They have to own up to it.....
Whether intentional or not Trump's actions have eliminated secret war with Iran as an alternative. "President Trump has warned the US is 'targeting' 52 Iranian sites and will strike 'very fast and very hard' if Tehran attacks Americans or US assets." If Iran tries to dive into the murky waters of deniable conflict again the Donald has 52 depth charges to bring it to the surface. This puts enormous pressure on Tehran to either open another front against America or negotiate a ceasefire in its secret war against the US. As Shadi Hamid of the Atlantic put it, nobody really wants open war but Iran can stand it least of all.
Babylon Bee: Democrats Call For Flags To Be Flown At Half-Mast To Grieve Death Of Soleimani
Is it satire or too much of the truth?
WASHINGTON, D.C.—At a press conference held on Capitol Hill Friday, mourning Democrat leaders called for flags to be flown half-mast to honor the death of Qasem Soleimani.
Flags were spotted flying at half-mast around the country, notably at The Washington Post, The New York Times, and in front of several celebrities' homes. The celebrities went out and bought an American flag for the first time just to fly it at half-mast for this important time of grief.
"The grieving process is painful but necessary," said Rep. Ilhan Omar. "As a nation, we need to stop and grieve this great, austere, revered religious scholar. He was one of the good ones."
In a rare moment of unity with The Squad, Pelosi gave each of the girls a hug, telling them to just "let it all out" in their time of sadness.
Ocasio-Cortez didn't seem to know what was happening but adjusted her glasses to look smart.
A teary-eyed Barack Obama was also seen solemnly lowering the flag in front of his seaside mansion. "To think, this all could have been prevented with a few pallets of cash." He sighed and stared off into the distance, a look of pain and regret on his face. "If only Trump had targeted a U.S. citizen with a drone strike instead."

The Reason for Killing Soleimani
Watching The Five last night when it occurred to me that the reason for killing Soleimani: - he was planning a major attack - was a distraction. The Democrat on the panel said she wanted to see evidence as if the evidence would make her an ally in the fight against Radical Islam. That's bullshit and a distraction. In her universe, if Trump is for it, she's against it. If Trump did it, it's evil.
The reality is that he was a major leader in the war between radical Islam and America and we killed him. He was responsible for thousands of dead and tens of thousands of maimed. He was evil and deserved to die.
Of course he was planning attacks; that's what he did, and he was good at it. Now he's dead and the world is better for it.

Ugly Lady Gives Birth, News Outlets Pretend She’s a Man
This is a woman.
Read the rest of the story.
With the sensational headline, Transgender Man Gives Birth to Non-Binary Partner’s Baby with Female Sperm Donor, the UK Mirror acted as though something novel happened. In reality, the story is that a woman with self-induced hormonal problems gave birth as a surrogate to a baby conceived by her lesbian lover and male sperm donor.
Of course, men don’t have wombs and women don’t have sperm. In fact, the reality that the woman has a womb should clarify she is, in fact a woman. And the fact the man has sperm should, in fact, clarify he’s a man.
What happened to sex education in the public school system? Has it failed us that poorly?
If a woman has a beard, but still has an womb, ovaries, and not least of all, XX chromosomes, that’s a woman.
An ugly woman giving birth is not news. It literally happens all the time. The Mirror’s reporting is fake news.

Q. Describe the circumstances under which you met Lt. Gen. Flynn. Where were you, what was the scene like, how many people were there? Most important: What did you and General Flynn discuss, and how long did your conversation last?
A. I am a British author and historian. My specialization is Soviet espionage undertaken in the 1930s.
Back in Feb 2014, I was a fellow of an organization called the Cambridge Security Initiative. It was one of many groups consulting on long-term global security issues with amongst others the DIA and other Western intelligence agencies. I was a Russian expert.

America really did have a Manchurian Candidate in the White House
From July 1, 2018, but still true.
After returning from a tour of some of the war zones in the Middle East — which ended with the Free Iran Gathering 2018 in Paris — I am struck by the realization that America really did have a Manchurian Candidate in The White House for eight years. If you look at the evidence, there really is no other conclusion. The calamitous consequences of the Obama presidency will be felt for the foreseeable future.
Anti-Gun Activists Can’t Stand That Armed Citizens Stopped The TX Church Attack
This weekend’s shooting in Texas has once again made it clear that no matter how much Moms Demand, Everytown, and other gun control groups might proclaim they’re not opposed to the Second Amendment but just want a few commonsense gun safety measures, they simply can’t say anything positive about owning or using a firearm in self-defense. Since that’s the core purpose of the Second Amendment, it’s impossible to take them seriously when they pretend to support the right to keep and bear arms or care about your safety and that of your family.
Experts Warn Global Outrage Levels May Reach Point Of No Return In 2020
Outrage levels previously reached dangerous highs during the Bush administration, but Obama was able to reverse the trend. He didn't change much about the way Bush was handling things, but he was a Democrat, so outrage levels went back down as the press stopped reporting on scandals and corruption.
However, in 2016, global outrage reached record highs, especially among Democrats. Republicans had been mildly outraged during the Obama years but mostly had to go to work so didn't have much time to spew toxic, harmful outrage into the environment. Libertarians have generated almost no outrage since they are high all the time.
Experts believe the reelection of Trump in 2020 would be "catastrophic," catapulting outrage levels well into the stratosphere.
"If we do not cut our anger emissions immediately, the world will be consumed by fiery outrage by the end of next year," said outrage expert Dr. Hal Gourd, pointing to a hockey-stick graph. The audience responded by getting really mad, shaking their fists at the sky and making loud grunting noises.
Kermit Gosnell To Attend State Of The Union As Pelosi's Special Guest
Babylon Bee has the scoop:
"Bringing this brave man along to the State of the Union sends a powerful message to the anti-choice bigots," Pelosi said in a press conference. "When state law forbade him from aborting late-term infants, he did so anyway. He is a strong, brave freedom fighter who was simply ahead of his time."
"We Democrats are just now catching up to him when it comes to late-term and post-birth abortion policies," she added.
Ralph Northam, (D, VA) winner of the coveted KKK dress-up contest, applauded the move.
Buttigieg Calls For Decriminalizing Crime
From the Paper of Record, the Babylon Bee:
"We need to fix this unjust system that imprisons murderers, rapists, drug dealers, human traffickers, and other people following their dreams. America was built on the values of the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life. If we tell criminals they can't commit a crime, we are telling them not to be who they are just to save a few 'innocent' people. We have to stop putting society before individuals."
