This is one of the biggest DIE myths. Most people have been led to believe by the mainstream media and DIE industry that racial/gender preferences favoring blacks/Hispanics/women/LGBQT are only used for "tie-breakers" against privileged white (+ Asian and Jewish whites), male, heterosexuals. Thus when the black lesbian has the same SAT score and GPA as a white male who likes girls, the black lesbian gets the spot at Harvard, and the white male needs to take his privileged toxicity elsewhere. Support for affirmative action and racial/gender quotas tends to drop off greatly when the public is informed that such tie-breakers are rare, and that in fact the black lesbian is likely to have 20+% lower SAT scores than the rejected Asian/Jewish/white male.

And of course this myth trickles down through the system. The low scoring "victim" benefiting from affirmative action admission struggles in school against higher scoring "oppressors" classmates, but gets graded well by professors who have been told that "diversity is a strength" and to go easy on poor performing students from the victim classes. The victim eventually graduates with weak skills, but an inflated GPA and ego, and gets hired to enhance the diversity statistics of the hiring firm where she performs poorly. Nevertheless, she is coddled and promoted despite a weak record because HR is pressuring managers about the need to maintain high ESG scores that require diversity in upper-management positions. When the diversity hire eventually reaches the top despite her weak record, she turns out to be a disaster because she has never had to earn anything honestly as all her moral and performance related shortcomings were overlooked to maintain the "diversity is a strength" fantasy. Meanwhile the public who believes in the "tie-breaker" myth, readily buys into the the cover story that the failure of the diversity candidate to perform in her elite position is due to rampant misogyny, racism, and the legacy of slavery/patriarchy, which can only be cured with more DIE staffing and mandatory sensitivity training for all privileged employees, while anyone who publicly questions this narrative is branded a "racist", "sexist", "homophobe" and gets fired.

 Politics makes me sad sometimes.

Oh, not just because politicians are doing dumb things.  Not even because politicians are corrupt.  Politicians have always been dumb and corrupt, as any study of history will demonstrate. 

And it doesn’t matter if they hold office by election, inheritance, or swords distributed by strange women lying in ponds.  Stupidity and corruption are human characteristics, and politicians are very, very human.  (Though recent history is strange women lying in ponds distributing swords look better as the basis for a system of government . . . .)

Sometimes their stupidity and corruption make me angry, and sometimes they make me laugh.  But, given my low expectations, it takes a special kind of stupidity and corruption to actually make me sad.

What makes me sad now is the ongoing game of Civilizational Jenga that our ruling class is playing.  One by one, they’re withdrawing the supports of civil society, in a process that will inevitably lead to a collapse.  They’re taking what was a very robust society, and consuming all the safety margins, bit by bit.

The FAA is seeking people suffering from "severe intellectual and psychiatric disabilities" to be air traffic controllers.

 The country currently is in the throes of an epidemic of mass insanity and irrationality. The manifestations of the disorder are too numerous to cite, but the explosion of the DEI plague being pushed by the government, many businesses, and the intellectual pigmies in most of the media, must be included in any list of the most egregious. As currently advocated and practiced by our leftist “elites,”1 it is incompatible with rationality, common sense, and morality, among other things, and, as the Wall Street Journal, not to mention the Supreme Court, have pointed out, the U.S. Constitution....

To understand how insidious and dangerous the FAA's DEI policies are, it is necessary to examine briefly just what air traffic controllers do and the nature of the job. ...

In short, the ATCs’ role is complex and stressful, sometimes requiring split-second life-and-death decisions. An error, inattention, or even hesitation can cost the lives of hundreds of people both in the air and on the ground....

So, what are the FAA's criteria regarding the people they want to hire?

As this article will show below, it does so by seeking to employ people who are clearly less qualified than the general applicant pool.  Less qualified, that is, unless you believe that the average applicant suffers from, for example, a “severe intellectual disability.”

The FAA makes clear the tribes that it includes in the Diversity Nation: It touts that it specifically “targets” for “special emphasis,” in both recruiting and hiring, people with disabilities in “hearing, vision, missing extremities, partial paralysis, complete paralysis, epilepsy, severe intellectual disability, psychiatric disability and dwarfism.”

Wait.  It gets worse. Such disabled applicants get even more special treatment because they are eligible for preferential hiring. The FAA calls this “On-the-Spot hiring.” That is exactly what it sounds like – the FAA admits that it is a “non-competitive hiring method.” They are eligible for this non-competitive hiring even if their intellectual or psychiatric disability is “severe.”

They want your plane to be controlled by a blind, deaf, paralytic dwarf with epilepsy who is psychiatrically disabled.
