 WASHINGTON, D.C.—In spite of Democrats' best efforts to curb the use of fossil fuels, stubborn Americans continue to use them to power their automobiles and heat their homes. Biden is responding to this crisis with an ambitious new plan to raise the price of gas to $100 per gallon by the end of his first 100 days in office.

"Listen-- all these fossil fuels, they gotta stop! Gotta stop!" Biden said to the Secret Service agent pumping gas into his presidential limo. "We gotta do something about these selfish Americans and one-horse kangaroo herders burning all these fuels without consequences. I know consequences. Just ask Corn Pop and his buddies. When I'm done with 'em, these Americans will never burn a gallon of gas again, Jack!"

The administration has announced the "Gas Prices To The Mooooon" campaign-- a series of executive orders designed to drive the price of fuel up to make it unattainable to anyone except John Kerry.

When confronted with the question of how Americans will afford to get around with $100-per-gallon gas, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi suggested they stay home and eat some ice cream instead.

Currently, the average price stands at $2.53 per gallon and rising, which experts say is likely Trump's fault.

Opinion: Lies the Supreme Court Told Me

It's time to telll the Supreme Court, "It's not me, it's you."

In a fashion we must now regard as entirely predictable the Supreme Court of the United States has dismissed (i.e., thrown out) the various state challenges to the 2020 presidential election.

Any decisions on these challenges were determined by the majority to be “moot” because the election had already been decided, and Donald Trump has conceded to Joe Biden. (Associate Justices Thomas, Alito and Gorsuch objected in varying degrees.)

In other words, a stolen presidential election—if it happens, we don’t really know in this case—has an almost immediate statute of limitations, although the results of that election can affect hundreds of millions, if not, as in the case of the United States, nearly the entirety of humanity.

This is true, apparently for a majority of the Supremes, although all sorts of crimes, some not particularly onerous, have statutes of limitations that can go on for years.

Go figure.

Understanding and Embracing the Role of the 21st-Century American Dissident

 

Referring to Alexei Navalny, a Russian dissident who was arrested and Detective Jennifer Gugger, who had her gun taken from her for the crime of attending the January 6^th rally in Washington DC, Hmacheck says this.

What do these two seemingly quite different people have in common? They are both dissidents. They both acted as though they had the right to say and do what they said and did. They were both mistaken. In Russia, given its history of totalitarianism, Navalny likely knew what he was getting himself into. In our country, however, where totalitarianism is in its infant stages, it is quite likely that Gugger was caught unawares.

This is going to be commonplace for many of us over the next several years as we are forced to come to grips with the fact that this is no longer the “home of the free and the land of the brave.” We can stomp our feet and deny it, we can try to act as though we don’t accept it, but it is not going to change the reality that the great American experiment that was launched just over 230 years ago is finally producing empirical results. The conclusion: People are capable of sustaining individual liberty only for as long as they can be constrained by a system of law that suppresses and contains their true nature.

We need to awaken to the reality that we are not a majority. We are not a vocal minority with the same rights as the majority. We are now dissidents. We do not have the same voice as our ever-strengthening oppressors, and we do not have the same rights that they enjoy.

For those who might argue that there more of us, or at least as many of us, who believe in individual liberty and free market capitalism than there are opponents to same, I would suggest that you should not confuse a simple head count with total political atomic mass. The positions within society that our opponents hold and the institutions and machinery they control gives them leverage beyond simple membership numbers….

For anyone who holds to the notion that if only Donald Trump had won the election, none of this would be happening, check your premises. Look what has happened in this country over the past four years while Donald Trump was president! This is much bigger than one man or any one party. This is historical in nature and involves over 200 years of continuous cause and effect….

The role of a dissident is not to convert those who are already on their side. The role of a dissident is to convert those who are opposed but who eventually come to realize and accept the teachings of the dissident. This comes through self-revelation. Self-revelation is created through awareness. Self-awareness is best created by posing a question to the listener that causes them to tip their head, scratch their chin, and say to themselves, “I never thought of it that way.”

It is likely that you have friends who use their social media or who engage in coffee shop conversations (back when it was possible to meet in a coffee shop for conversations), who talk about people who believe in the individual liberty and free market capitalism as the proverbial “they”, “them”, and “those” people. Those same friends might look at you and say that, of course, they do not mean you personally. They reassure you that you are not like “those” other people whom they insult.

 One of the main objectives of being a successful dissident is to make the impersonal generic condemnation of others into a personal condemnation of you. Those who support the suppression of individual liberty and free market capitalism must understand that they are not allowed to criticize everything you believe in, and those who believe in it along with you, without simultaneously criticizing you. The supporters of suppression need to know that “others” and “you” are indivisible. This is a critical element of success….

Our role models need to be people like Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, Natan Sharansky, and Andrei Sakharov. These were courageous men, true dissidents, who stood up to totalitarianism during the period of Soviet domination. Their unyielding yet steady courage and resolve helped to make the world understand what true oppression felt like. People forget that in the early days of Soviet Russia, the country was considered to be a utopian model for many in the West. The efforts of dissidents like these taught the world a different story. More importantly, over time it taught their countrymen.

The New York Times is a well-known publication that started as a newspaper but has switched to satire in recent years. According to sources, the Senator had been misinformed by some political operatives telling him that the newspaper was a "trustworthy source of news." 

"We all need to do our part to fight the spread of misinformation," said the senator in a statement. "I'm embarrassed to say I was tricked by this headline. I thought the article was real. I quickly took the tweet down after learning that The New York Times is a satire site known for spreading hate and lies. I promise to do better in the future."

PORTLAND, OR—Bill Gates, one of the wealthiest men alive, is passionate about fighting climate change. In a recent interview, he warned everyone of the sacrifices we will have to make to avoid a climate disaster. Mr. Gates stressed how we will all have to put all of our resources together if we really want to make a difference. “I wanted a 500ft, 1 billion-dollar mega yacht, but I settled for this clunker just to show how committed I am to the cause,” said Mr. Gates as he left his onboard 5-star spa. “If we go just 15 years without cars, burning fossil fuels, and we all eat bugs we can reverse the damage to our planet.” 

Bill Gates was excited to announce the first of its kind hydrogen-powered engine onboard the Aqua. “There’s truly nothing like it. But I just don’t get why everyone else on the planet can’t switch to a state-of-the-art, prototype fuel source like me!”

Mr. Gates wanted to say more, but he was informed his prime rib had just come off the charcoal grill. When we met up with him on the 7th floor he was already eating something suspiciously not synthetic looking. “You’ll get used to the taste!” he said. “I know for me I almost think it’s the real thing!”

Once again, our interview with Bill Gates was cut short as we heard a helicopter landing on one of the yacht’s upper decks. “Oh! That must be John Kerry!” said Mr. Gates. “He’s here to talk about making the burning of fossil fuels punishable by death!”

Op-Ed: The Climate Is Trying To Transition And We Need To Support Him/Her/It

 

The environment has been trying to express that it wants to transition for a while now, but the problem is that nobody is listening. It's no wonder rainfall is up and the world is expected to flood over in at least twelve years. The environment is weeping because it is trying to change and yet we choose not to believe it.

Climate change is an emotional decision, one that is not easy for any planet to make. The last thing our environment needs is a bunch of dogmatic environmental transphobes telling the environment who it should be based on some archaic ideas about polar ice caps and greenhouse gasses. What the environment needs most is to be listened to—not just listened to, but its truth believed. 

For the environment, this transition isn't a choice and the more we raise our voices and scream out anti-climate change bigotry at the sky, the more our environment feels unsafe and unaccepted. We need to accept this, even if it means extreme changes to the weather and a shocking rise in human death. It may make you uncomfortable to be frozen, charred by the sun, or drowned in acid rain, but those are hangups you need to own and ask yourself why you think your personal views about natural disasters need to be imposed on others. We all need to check our privilege. 

Every time we see a rainbow across the sky after a famine-devoured land has been swallowed up by a flash flood, that's our environment waving its flag bravely, looking for emotional support in a chaotic transition. Respect his/her/its pronouns, avoid harmful words, do the research. The environment is transitioning whether we like it or not. With our support, this can be a loving transition that is great for all who manage to survive (if any). But if we respond with nothing but weather-related stereotypes and unsupportive questioning, we're only asking for climate change to be more tumultuous and emotional than it needs to be.

I learned years ago that money doesn't make you smart.  In fact, I'll go further and state without equivocation that you don't have to be smart to get rich.  But it does surround you with people who want some of your money and will flatter you to get it.

Bill Gates is crazy. And he’s dangerous, because he’s willing to put untold sums of money toward making the insane things he believes a reality – and all of those insane things hurt people....

We’re not going to get into the vaccine stuff, much of which is the product of Alex Jones-style conspiracy theories every bit as crazy as Gates is. There’s a lot out there, though, and not all of it is good. Gates’ influence with public health bureaucrats like Anthony Fauci, who he has clearly bought off, is something of a concern. He’s an unelected software developer with no medical training; nothing about him suggests he’s qualified to make public policy on healthcare for an entire planet, no matter how heavily he wants to buy his way in.

What this comes down to, though, is that Bill Gates has been so rich for so long that he’s spent the bulk of his adult life without anyone telling him he’s wrong. That has the same corrosive effect on character and sanity that you see in the case of kings and dictators. People want some of Bill Gates’ money, so they constantly suck up to him and tell him his ideas are great even when they’re atrocious, and the guardrails normal people live between don’t exist in his case.

So he throws money around at insane things. That he isn’t outwardly off his rocker like Howard Hughes was is small comfort; Hughes mostly kept to himself in that hotel suite in Las Vegas as he descended into madness. Gates is everywhere.

 It’s a problem. There needs to be some limiting principle governing this man’s excesses. But where that will come from is a good question. When he’s openly discussing destroying an industry that directly employs a half-million Americans for the purposes of “climate change” (formerly known as global warming, until it couldn’t be denied that there was no statistically significant warming going on) when we’re in the middle of the worst cold snap much of the country has seen in decades, finding ways to check this increasingly nutty bull in a china shop begins to become an urgent necessity.

Perhaps it’s time to start taxing charitable foundations which engage in public policy-related activities. That could easily devolve into a mess, but the alternative could be that we increasingly have to live under the cracked worldview of out-of-touch billionaires like Bill Gates.

It was a bit of a culture shock for Schneider for not being thought of as enlightened but instead as primitive and barbaric, as he further explained. “People of the future kept saying to me, ‘You really didn’t find anything wrong about taking a child out of a woman and sucking the child’s brains out?’ And then I’d try to correct them to say, ‘womb-owner’ and to not assume only women get pregnant, and they’d look at me like I was some bizarre monster.”

Schneider purchased a history book and found people like himself smack dab in the “Wrong Side of History” section next to slave owners and Nazis. “That seems a little extreme,” Schneider commented. “I mean, I guess a few hundred years separated, I can see how maybe sucking the brains out of children is a little bit wrong. But that’s not like slavery. That’s not like being a Nazi. I’m not for gassing people. I’m just for taking small children and sucking their brains out.” He thought about it some more. “Yeah, I guess that does sound... But it was okay because no one cared about them so we didn’t need to treat them as fellow humans!” He again thought about what he'd just said. “Okay, maybe I’m seeing it a little bit.”

 For those who don't already know it, the headline to this post is an acronym meaning "There Is No Voting Our Way Out Of This".  We're in an existential struggle for the life of the American constitutional republic, and facing enemies on all sides.  Unless and until we wake up to the fact that we're in a war, and going to have to react accordingly, we will lose every time.  What's more, so far, that war has been relatively peaceful - but there's no guarantee it'll remain that way.

Officer Sicknick’s death: the only surprise here is that the NY Times actually issued any sort of retraction at all, even a mild one

 I’ve been writing about the problems with the story about Capitol Police Officer Sicknick’s cause of death since just a few days after it happened. It was clear even then that the report that Officer Sicknick had been hit in the head with a fire extinguisher wielded by rioters and that he died of that injury was shaky from the start, and was contradicted by his family members who had spoken to him after the riot. These difficulties with the reporting could have been easily perceived weeks ago by anyone with a computer and a spirit of curiosity (and see this for a list of links to my posts about it).

But the NY Times couldn’t bother to report on any of this, because there was an anti-Trump narrative to get out and an impeachment to be effected.

Now that the preferred narrative is firmly set in the public’s minds and the impeachment trial is over, the fact that nearly every newspaper in the US and the House managers lied to the nation about Sicknick’s death can be whispered or at least hinted at. Here the “update”, and it’s pretty subtle. Most of America will probably miss the correction, because it’s attached to the original January 8 article that first reported on the fire extinguisher story told by “officials,” and the headline is still intact, “Capitol Police Officer Dies From Injuries in Pro-Trump Rampage.”

How did Sicknick die?  We can't be sure, but we can be sure that the story the NY Times told and the story that the House Impeachment managers told was a lie.

 Before COVID hit we had the same health inspector she told us that people were not allowed to bring food into the brewery, which is completely incorrect. We had to correct her on that.

We had another health inspector come up a few months ago that told us that not only did we have to sell a meal with each beer, but every time a customer would come up to get another beer they would have to buy another meal.  This is how crazy … these people haven’t a clue what they’re doing.

So on the third or fourth reopening we spent nearly $10,000 putting tents on our front parking area, which consequently got destroyed by the winds about three weeks ago, and then the county says, “oh, you can only put one side up on the tent.” OK, that’s another crazy rule. That doesn’t work. Try living in a house with only one side on it.

DeSantis '24 Just To Break the COVID Panic Porn Tyrants

 It’s no secret that I’m a fan of Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida. I’ve been singing his praises since last spring, when he was doing all of the right things in response to the Wuhan Chinese Bat Flu and idiot boy Andrew Cuomo killing as many elderly New Yorkers as he could. DeSantis continues to make all of the right people angry, which as you know is a favorite criterion of mine for judging our elected officials. DeSantis has been flying in the face of the liberal hypocrisy orthodoxy regarding whether schools should be open or not. Lib politicians are, of course, utterly beholden to the demands of teachers’ unions, who have been lobbying hard to get paid, get vaccinated, and not return to work.

New York Times Lies - You Can't Believe What the NY Times Prints

 The New York Times reported that a policeman who died defending the Capitol was killed by being struck by a fire extinguisher.  

That was a lie.  How many of you believe it because the NY Times liars told you.

Was the Lying New York Times - which covered up Stalin's murderous rule - ever a reliable source of information?

It's buried at the bottom of an article over a month after the original lie was printed.

Though law enforcement officials initially said Officer Sicknick was struck with a fire extinguisher, police sources and investigators are at odds over whether he was hit. Medical experts have said he did not die of blunt force trauma, according to one law enforcement official.

Investigators have found little evidence to back up the attack with the fire extinguisher as the cause of death, the official said. Instead, they increasingly suspect that a factor was Officer Sicknick being sprayed in the face by some sort of irritant, like mace or bear spray, the law enforcement official said.

Though the police consider irritants to be nonlethal deterrents for crowd control, they can cause physical reactions and disorientation that can lead to injury.

I used to subscribe to The Weekly Standard and National Review, .. As for NR, it’s sad – you post-internet cons don’t dig it, but back in the day, Buckley’s baby was it. There was no other conservatism. When it came in the snail mail once every two weeks, you got your fix for another fortnight. …Now, ...I'd happily let NR burn. …

Does it matter if they left us or we left them? I tend to think that they were never truly with us. Have we really changed? On the surface, maybe. I used to be a hawk. I even went to a couple of the conflicts that all the smart people on our side said were super good ideas. And then I watched the utter failure of these same geniuses – a kid could nearly go from being a fetus to buying a Dos Equis in the time America’s been chasing jihadi banditos around the Hindu Kush to no avail.

I heard the lectures about free enterprise then realized that I wanted no part of being in the party that enabled mega-corporate pillaging of our middle class for the benefit of the Chinese communists.

And I watched Conservative, Inc., manage decline while filling its cruises, and then I watched the guy I defended from all the “Chimpy McHalibu$Hitler” slurs turn around and cavort with the people calling me worse….

The hell with these people.

We’re done with them, but not with conservatism. We carry that torch now. The True Conservatives™ sure as hell aren’t even pretending anymore – we just had a whole year of “The Conservative Case For Biden.” They care only about their cheesy little fellowships in DC at the Conservativish Forum for Freedom and Eagles and Taking Dumb Businessmen’s Money and More Eagles, where they scribble unread pap on lame blogs. They eagerly collect the tech titan’s 30 pieces of Bitcoin to join in the cancel chorus of conservatives who actually believe in something besides securing these dorks’ sinecures.

But we know it now. We see it, and there’s no unseeing it.

As the Lincoln Project – if you accept that Abe’s project was trying to score with teen boys – collapses, and we giggle, there’s no hiding the corruption of Conservative, Inc. Well, now there’s a new conservatism, and it’s going to happen without the Fredocon caucus.

Remember George Will? Me neither.

To reprise a cliché of my own making, Donald Trump was the avatar of our dissatisfaction with the garbage Establishment and the refusal of the useless, sclerotic and cruise-oriented losers allegedly on our side to defend our interests. It didn’t help that these credential-fetishizers … always despised us. Some were born snobs, and some embraced snobbery – there’s no snooty like “I got out of the trailer park and I gotta ensure no one ever makes that connection between me and my déclassé past again” snooty. But they all think we are stupid, borderline evil, and utterly unsuited to have a say in our own governance. In that, they express their class solidarity with the caste status neurotics of the left.

So, why my optimism?

Well, as we’ve seen, our opponents inside our tent are worthless. Moreover, our enemies outside on the left are buffoons. Ted Lieu? Adam Schiff? Toots Swalwell, the guy who actually thought the Chi-Com courtesan liked him because he was cool? These are singularly unimpressive people who project an aura of competence solely by appearing on camera. But they are stupid, and weak, and the idea that our enemies are these brilliant Lex Luthors crafting intricate conspiracies from their secret lairs is ridiculous. All this stuff happening now is not the result of some cunning strategy but of dumb luck, the inevitable cyclic nature of politics, and some mistakes by our own side (Did you ever notice how most of the things that went bad for Trump happened when he listened to Establishment Republicans?). These are not supermen – these sissies would probably cry because I just assumed their gender.

… Every answer we seek is within the Constitution and the documents that went into creating it. What we sell is freedom, prosperity, and human dignity. What the other side sells is, at best, a soft corporate/political tyranny of the mediocre.

And the most important factor is that we are now conservawoke. Red pilled, if you will. We see the lies. And we see the liars. That ridiculous XX-Jeb! hack Nikki! Haley keeps trying to happen and we keep laughing at her. ….

We’re done with GOP weather vanes who say whatever the Establishment tool in front of her wants to hear. Recently, Nikki! sat down with Tim Alberta of Politico and said… who cares? We had her pegged at “she sat down with Tim Alberta of Politico.” If you can’t tell who the enemy is, it’s you.

So? And? If freedom was easy, everyone would be doing it, and those of us who have read history from before 1619, and/or have resided outside this country can clarify for you that freedom as the natural state of man is most def not the case.

No one is going to give us anything but serfdom – you can have as much of that as you want, and gratis. But freedom has to be taken, one GOP state reforming its election laws at a time, one new conservative-friendly social media venue at a time, one action-packed and conservative-oriented series at a time.

My guess is that Donald Trump has played his (crucial) role and will move on after humiliating the Democrats again by scoffing at their latest puny impeachment. He will be a kingmaker and an important asset in bringing forward the new blood we need to re-energize us. Populism had a tough four years. We’ll take a breather for a bit, then charge. Look at our bench! Ric Grenell, Kristi Noem, Ron DeSantis, Rick Scott, and many more. Look at our expanding network of media outlets, not least of which is Townhall. Look at the new voices we’re seeing, often from the world of podcasting, and often of people who became at least conservative-curious because they saw the failures of the left (Tim Pool, Michael Malice, Adam Carolla, Joe Rogan).

And look at the doddering, failing enemy, presiding over the collapsing Potemkin village that is the failed Establishment.  Yeah, the cons are alright.

Trump Now Most Acquitted President In History

 

U.S.—President Donald Trump made history once again today after being acquitted in his second Senate impeachment trial. He is now the most acquitted president in American history.

Donald Trump issued a statement regarding this incredible honor.

"I have been completely and totally cleared of all wrongdoing in this pathetic witchhunt sham impeachment trial," said Trump. "I am now the most acquitted president ever -- even more than Clinton. No president has ever been acquitted more than I have. Will I get the credit? Probably not, because of the fake news media. I am looking forward to continuing our MAGA movement together for many more acquittals to come!"

According to sources, Republican Senators cheered and high-fived each other, knowing they had just outsmarted all the Democrats into bestowing such an unprecedented badge of honor on the former president.

"Oh no! What have we done?!" wailed Senator Amy Klobuchar, suddenly realizing the Senate had given Trump yet another impressive world record, making him the subject of trivia questions for the next two centuries.

According to sources, Clinton will be handing over his giant gold "most acquitted ever" trophy to Trump in Mar-a-Lago next week.

The US Senate votes to acquit former president Donald Trump in his second impeachment trial, with less than two thirds of senators finding him guilty of incitement of insurrection.

Republicans senators Richard Burr of North Carolina, Bill Cassidy of Louisiana, Susan Collins of Maine, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, Mitt Romney of Utah, Ben Sasse of Nebraska and Patrick Toomey of Pennsylvania all voted guilty.

The ancien regime needed a Blue Tsunami to effect a restoration. But they achieved a mild and perhaps doubtful electoral surf despite a maximum effort. The impeachment was a second chance at pursuit. Its failure means the populists will be back.

Trump and the Democratic leader’s age means a new cast of characters will be coming on for Season 2. The Blue failure to smash the populists means people are now refiguring the odds. Expect new political startups.

The reason why threats to go after Trump in court are pointless is because the Biden administration, like every incumbent, will soon be on the political defensive. New challenges are going to put Biden between the hard rock of the left and even more obdurate reality.

In Mail-In Impeachment Vote, Senate Convicts Trump 8275 To 3

 

WASHINGTON, D.C.—In a historic move, the U.S. Senate decided to switch to voting by mail for Trump's second impeachment trial. After all the votes were counted by an intern in a back room with no cameras, the Senate ruled to convict President Trump of incitement to violence by a vote of 8275 to 3.

A couple of troublemaking Senators attempted to overthrow the Constitution by bringing up the point that there are only 100 Senators, making it impossible to arrive at a tally of 8275 to 3, but they were quickly removed from the Senate Chambers and condemned for "attempting to suppress the votes of people of color."

The Senate then moved on to other business, passing universal healthcare by a margin of 320,000 to 4.

Believing Impossible Things

William McGurn wrote an article in the Wall Street Journal taking Democrats to tasks for failing to deliver on the promise they made of unifying the country. 

There’s an air of unreality with this article, and articles like this. As if McGurn expected unity after seeing what the Democrats have done to destroy Donald Trump and his supporters for the past four years.

Realists saw Nancy Pelosi rip up Trump’s State of the Union speech before the entire country, an act of hate and spite that makes any Trump tweet sound like a love ballad. People who live in the real world know that changing election rules that make it impossible to verify ballot integrity is not done to make an election honest. Realists recognize that promises to abolish the Electoral College, grant statehood to DC, end the filibuster, pack the Supreme Court, grant citizenship to illegal immigrants, and open the borders are not calls for unity. Sentient beings take threats to hunt down and destroy the lives of people who supported Donald Trump and his policies seriously. Because the people who make these threats have shown that they mean every word that they say.

What kind of mind works like this?

 What’s amazing about the Left’s vision of America under a Trump administration is that they saw the lowest unemployment in decades, rising wages for the poorest among us, the end of jobs being shipped overseas, oil and gas independence. lower fuel prices, lower taxes, no new wars and the winding down of old ones, the end of ISIS, and the outbreak of genuine peace in the Middle East.  And they called it a horror!  What kind of mind works like this?

 It figures that this argument would be made by the New York paper that can make or break books in an industry based out of the same city. And that it would be made by Ben Smith, the loathsome Buzzfeed vet who had been previously dispatched to do a hit piece on Andrew Sullivan over false allegations of racism.

The specific topic here is the New York Times unabashedly celebrating Hachette's firing of Kate Hartson at Center Street, a conservative imprint, for publishing... conservatives.
