New York Promotes Drug Addiction - This Is Not a Joke

There’s no masking Mayor Bill de Blasio’s apathy for NYC: Goodwin

Bill de Blasio is officially the 109th mayor of New York City. I say officially because, in reality, he’s New York’s first mayor. The first mayor who doesn’t care about the city. Not all his predecessors were above average, but de Blasio stands out for his indifference. Nothing makes him tick. Gotham, the closest thing our nation has ever had to the shining city upon a hill, is in a sharp and obvious downward spiral. With dizzying speed, more than two decades of prosperity and public safety are crashing to a halt. Persistent warnings that the bad old days were coming back were accurate, but in vain. The bad old days are here.

Forget it Jake, It's New York

NY CITY LOCK-DOWN BEGINNING TO FAIL

People in their neighborhood — even old people — who were wearing masks a few days ago now aren’t. Long lines at soup kitchens and food pantries and check-cashing places. A generally more sad and more aggressive attitude. This is bad because NYC needs it more than anywhere else, but a month or so is really about as long as most people will comply, or even self-isolate on their own.

SHUT DOWN NEW YORK AIRPORTS

When China was at the center of the Wuhan coronavirus pandemic, President Trump wisely banned entry into the U.S. from China. To be sure, banning travel within the U.S. is considerably more draconian than banning travel to the U.S. from a foreign country. Any sort of domestic ban should be imposed only in exigent circumstances.

I believe the current circumstances in New York City are exigent. Thus, it would make sense to ban air travel from New York, the current center of the pandemic, to the rest of the U.S.

IF THE REST OF US ARE FORCED TO STAY AT HOME WHY ARE NEW YORKERS FREE TO SPREAD THEIR DISEASES VIA AIR TRAVEL?

NYC Health Commissioner Told De Blasio to Get Serious on Efforts to Stop Wuhan Coronavirus Spread. He Refused.

Of course this was the same health commissioner that was encouraging New Yorkers
" ...to take the subway, ... take the bus, ... go out to your favorite restaurant, and ... not to miss the [Chinatown] parade next Sunday"

You can't make this stuff up!

Fixated on Race New York City’s new schools chancellor seems to care only about demographic representation in the classroom.

Carranza made it clear before he arrived that his principal interest is ethnic equilibrium in the nation’s largest public school system, not achieving positive, across-the-board performance outcomes. The system has some bright spots—they’re moving center stage as the chancellor’s obsession with “integration” unfolds—but New York’s schools in general are a mess. As recently as two years ago, 420 of the city’s 525 high schools had prepared fewer than half of their graduates for college or a career.

Top Imam Warned NYC Mayor De Blasio About Terror Threats: ‘He Did Nothing — Ignored!’

Top Imam Tawhidi revealed Tuesday he warned New York City Mayor Bill De Blasio that his city was a breeding ground for Islamic terrorists. According to the Imam, De Blasio ignored his ‘in person,’ and ‘online,’ warnings. News of Tawhidi’s warnings come after the Manhattan terror attack.
About  terrorist attack, I personally sent letters to Mayor De Blasio online & in person about terrorist breeding in NYC.He did nothing.

In 2016, I told Mayor De Blasio that I was in NYC and noticed some hot radical centres. I was willing to point out serious cases. Ignored!

Get used to it New York.  DeBlasio is sacrificing your lives on the altar of  multicultural political correctness.

The suicide lottery of diversity

Mark Steyn:  Jihad on the Bike Path

The Hudson River Greenway is not, formally, a 9/11 "memorial bike path". But it does run within 300 feet or so of the World Trade Center as it begins its progress up the West Side Highway toward the Bronx. So close enough. Yet on the central point I was wrong. The "bike-path left" will surrender the bike path as they surrender everything else.

As I write, eight are dead - all men, five Argentines, one Belgian, all in the path of an Uzbek Muslim who decided to take a Home Depot pick-up truck down the bike path for 20 blocks mowing down bicycle after bicycle after bicycle before exiting the vehicle and yelling - go on, take a wild guess - "Allahu Akbar!" Well, I never! You could knock me over with a feather duster - which the Mohammedans will no doubt find a way of weaponizing any day now.

So two hours after the attack, Governor Cuomo, Mayor de Blasio and other New York bigwigs assembled for the usual press conference to give the usual passive shrug - this is the way we live now, nothing to be done about it, etc, etc. Every so often in New York, as in London as in Stockholm as in Berlin as in Nice as in Brussels as in Paris as in Manchester as in Orlando, your loved one will leave the home and never return because he went to a pop concert or a gay club or a restaurant or an airport, or just strolled the sidewalk or bicycled the bike path. "Allahu Akbar"? That's Arabic for "Nothing can be done".
...
And now eight people are dead and dozens more injured - at the hands of a guy who came here in 2010 because he won a Green Card in the so-called "diversity lottery". Why was that stupid program not suspended on September 12th 2001?

Because even 3,000 dead cannot be allowed to question the virtues of "diversity". ..And so, on a buckled, broken bicycle on the Hudson River Greenway, the wheel comes full circle. America and every other major western nation thought the appropriate response to 9/11 was to show how nice we are by dramatically increasing the rate of mass Muslim immigration.
...
So now eight grieving families and dozens more who'll be living with horrific injuries for the rest of their lives are told by Cuomo and De Blasio and the rest of the gutless political class behind their security details that there's nothing to do except to get used to it.

I don't want to get used to it - and I reiterate my minimum demand of western politicians that I last made after the London Bridge attacks: How many more corpses need to pile up on our streets before you guys decide to stop importing more of it?

If your congressman or senator says that's not on his agenda, what he means is he's willing to sacrifice you and your loved ones in the suicide lottery of diversity.

You can bet that the press will scream about a terrorist attack in New York and then proclaim that Muslims are the hardest hit.

Ray Kelly’s Vindication

The ideologues who continue to argue that Islam does not represent a terrorist problem (which includes the press), or who view "...the sort who view the Constitution as akin to a suicide pact ..."

Former NYPD commissioner Ray Kelly, and the cops who made up his superlative anti-terror unit, can stand a little taller in the wake of the weekend bombings in New York City and New Jersey. While much remains to be learned about the incidents, this much is clear: Kelly’s view of Islamist terrorism as a multi-state threat, and thus a legitimate subject for sophisticated law-enforcement attention, has been vindicated.

Mark-Viverito’s message: Only saps obey the law

The message that the decent folks are saps, that the law is a joke. That the public has no right to impose basic standards of behavior in public places.

It’s a giant raised middle finger to everyone who honestly cares about other New Yorkers’ quality of life.

Then again, the speaker sees many things in her own special way.

Consider her hopes to close the city jail on Rikers Island: She’s not worried about where to put all the bad guys, because in Melissa Mark-Viverito’s world, there are no bad guys — only bad cops.

Judge who freed ‘cop-killer’ apologizes: ‘I am truly sorry’

That will fix things for the family and friends of the slain officer, won't it?
Now she’s sorry — five months after freeing the career drug dealer who is charged with murdering Police Officer Randolph Holder.
The hero cop’s death this week, by a bullet to the forehead during a shootout in East Harlem, “breaks my heart,” Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Patricia Nuñez said Friday.
“I know. I am truly sorry,” Nuñez said sadly when a Post reporter reminded her about the 33-year-old cop’s devastated family.
...

And her partner in this travesty:

Meanwhile, the judge who had suggested rehab instead of prison for Howard, Justice Edward McLaughlin, has defended his and Nuñez’s decision to free the accused cop-killer.
“I don’t get a crystal ball when I get a robe,’’ McLaughlin told reporters the day after Holder’s death.

Or a brain.

At some point, someone will take "full responsibility."  And that will be it for public officials.

New York City honors a monster.

New York’s city council has taken it upon itself to posthumously honor Ethel Rosenberg, a Soviet spy who helped, in her modest way, the worldwide Communist enterprise to murder some 100 million people.

Well, this is New York.

“A jail sentence doesn’t matter anymore. The only thing that gets you shunned in New York society is poverty.”

The Liberal fat cats seem hell-bent on proving Muslims are right when they call Americans degenerate perverts.

Last spring, Epstein completed a 13-month sentence for soliciting prostitution from a minor in Palm Beach. Now he was hosting a party for his close friend, Britain's Prince Andrew, fourth in line to the throne.

When a photo later surfaced of the two men walking in Central Park that weekend, the British press seized on the story, spinning out weeks of headlines about the 16-year relationship between Epstein and Andrew, with salacious details of underage "masseuses" and even a cozy weekend in Balmoral. ... But the uproar over "The Prince and The Perv"—as the British headlines screamed—mysteriously drowned in the Mid-Atlantic. New Yorkers barely batted an eye about the scandal-mongering across the pond. "A jail sentence doesn't matter anymore," says David Patrick Columbia, founder of New York Social Diary. "The only thing that gets you shunned in New York society is poverty."

"In the Midwest, where I am from, he would be a social pariah," says Lorna Brett Howard, a political activist and wife of Irving Post Capital CEO and Aeropostale director John Howard. "What I see here is if you have big money or are famous then you get a pass."
Just so. Keep in mind that Hollywood still supports Roman Polanski even after he was convicted of raping a 13 year old girl.

Mark Steyn: "He's not Muslim, he's just mentally ill."

The incomparable mark Steyn remarks, in his inimitably un-PC way on the way the media (including FOX) treats certain people who commit certain acts and belong to a certain religion.   And the insular and insulated, protected and pampered Ruling Class.

Diversity seems to be working out fine in the upper echelons of society. But lower down the ladder identity-group politics requires ever more virulent demonization of "the other". Otherwise, how's an ugly thug race-baiter like Al Sharpton supposed to stay in business? And so #blacklivesmatter, and Rafael Ramos and Wen Jian Liu are serviceable stand-ins for Bull Connor, as was "white Hispanic" George Zimmerman a couple of grievances back. Aside from being a respectable NBC anchor and a welcome guest at Obama's White House, the Reverend Al is said to be the "co-mayor" of New York. This term is largely metaphorical - for the moment. But you can already discern the contours of the American future: A chichi Green Zone within which the consequences of identity-group politics are confined mainly to sudden vapors over microagressions and nanoaggressions, and the plump prosperous power-brokers of "social justice" live lives comfortably undisturbed by the passions they foment when they jet forth with ever larger entourages to toss some red meat to the mob in Ferguson or Staten Island. And beyond the Green Zone a land of minimal economic opportunity fracturing into ever fiercer tribal resentments that find ever more violent expression.

If you want the picture in a nutshell, the same Department of Homeland Security that declines to fence America's vanished southern border is recommending the fence round the White House be made even taller. The Obamas and de Blasios and Sharptons will always be inside the fence. The effects of their policies are largely on the other side.

~Is it relevant that Ismaaiyl Abdullah Brinsley is a Muslim? Maybe not. But it isn't so irrelevant that every news outlet (including Fox) has to be quite so cautious about mentioning it at all. Newsday, one of the few papers that did, reported the view of Robert Boyce, the NYPD's Chief of Detectives:

Boyce said Brinsley had no gang affiliation or tattoos. His family is Muslim but the NYPD found no indication that he was religious or that the slaying was motivated by religion. He said the family said he never manifested "any radicalization."

So the preferred explanation is mental illness:

The shooter may have had an undiagnosed mental illness, according to his family, and may have been on medication "later on in life," Boyce said in a briefing in Manhattan. But he said he had no official reports of any mental illness.

Indeed. In fact, there's less hard evidence for any mental illness than there is for "radicalization", at least to the extent that Brinsley appears to have posted on his Facebook page the Koranic soundbite about "striking fear into the enemies of Allah". Nevertheless, the preferred explanation is that Brinsley was mentally ill, just like the guy who beheaded a coworker in Oklahoma was mentally ill, and the Sydney bloke who took those hostages at the coffee shop was mentally ill, and the son of the Canadian Refugee Board honcho who killed a soldier at the Canadian War Memorial was mentally ill. They were also all Muslim. Oh, and the fellow in France who ran down 11 people with his car while shouting "Allahu Akbar!" only yesterday has already been pronounced mentally ill. By sheer coincidence, he was Muslim, too.

The Democrats War on Women as Demonstrated by Feminist Democrats

 Via Stacy McCain
The implicit assumption of the Democrat Party’s “War on Women” meme is that the sexist misogyny by which all women are allegedly victimized is officially endorsed by The Republican Party. Never mind the fact — as the viral video ironically demonstrated — that women’s victimization is quite often perpetrated by constituencies of the Democrat Party coalition. Feminism is a left-wing political ideology that serves the partisan interests of the Democrat Party and, when feminists aren’t busy offering to provide oral sex to Democrat men, they are busy accusing Republicans of being The Party of Rape.

It does not really matter whether you are male or female, black or white, straight or gay. The only thing liberals really care about is whether you vote Democrat, because the liberal’s sense of self-esteem is dependent on his belief that, by voting Democrat and encouraging you to do likewise, he proves himself worthy as one of Our Moral Superiors. (Thomas Sowell’s book The Vision of the Anointed explains this brilliantly.)

We vote with our feet

Let's see what's wrong with New York: insane politicians, ultra-high taxes, regulations designed to stop everything in its tracks and terrible winter weather. Why would anyone live there?

These boots were made for walking, as the song goes. Unfortunately for New York, they’re walking right out of the state, with the latest Census figures showing Florida about to overtake us as the nation’s third-most-populous state.

The Albany-based Empire Center for Public Policy crunched the numbers and found that since 2010 New York has had a net domestic migration loss of 328,538 people....

Meanwhile, states such as Florida and Texas continue to attract people. It’s not just taxes prompting migration to their shores, though certainly the lack of an income tax in either the Lone Star or Sunshine state has to be a large part of the attraction. These growing states are also creating jobs, and generally offer a lower cost of living. And as a general rule, human beings do not move away from opportunity.

That’s what makes these Census numbers so telling. New York has much to offer, any advantages, including an economy roughly the size of South Korea’s and many world class industries. But the state’s taxes, heavy-handed regulation and generally anti-business ethos are making us less and less competitive by the day.
