Herman Cain tops Mitt Romney in latest CBS/NYT poll

CBS/NYT poll

Cain        25%
Romney  21%
Gingrich 10%
Paul          8%
Perry        6%

Cain is showing remarkable staying power despite an almost universal MSM attempt to marginalize him. Exhibit "A" today:
Here's C-BS: Bizarre Herman Cain ad features chief of staff smoking

Here's the ad.

I suppose if you are a New York metrosexual and are more familiar with public homoerotica than with public smoking, you would consider the end of the video bizarre. Note how the image of the man smoking is followed by the image of Cain breaking into a grin. You are being treated to an inside joke.  It works for people in flyover country and is totally lost on the beltway boys and the people who swarm in the media hive. They think Modern Family is edgy. They think Occupy Wall Street is revolutionary.

It's not.

By this time we've been there, done that and got the T-shirt.

Men smoking in a commercial for a political candidate is edgy.    How can you tell?  It outrages the media boys.  It flips them the bird.

Their hero, Barack Obama, hides his smokes.  Mark Block does what Obama's afraid to do.

While the media is writing stories about the inevitability of Mitt Romney, Herman Cain is breaking out of the pack, breaking the mold and the media don't understand it. He doesn’t fit the template in so many ways that they convince themselves that he's the flavor of the week. It's an illustration of the old adage that when theory and reality collide, ideologues discard reality.
