Falling in love with love

Never in history, well, never in my lifetime, has a program had such as disastrous rollout as ObamaCare. Forget about the straight party-line vote that passed it and the Constitutional legerdemain that “legitimized” it. The real fiasco that drew even the low-information voters’ attention was the advent of the computer program that was supposed to allow you to enroll. Apparently it worked perfectly as long as no one tried to use it. No joke, that’s the excuse.

The Republicans in the House want to delay for one year the Obama Administration’s demand that people sign up for ObamaCare. In view of the fact that the computer program, that incidentally cost over $600 million to create, doesn’t work you would think that Obama would agree. You would be wrong. The question is why?

Remember that old song “Falling in love with love?”
Falling in love with love
Is falling for make-believe
Falling in love with love
Is playing the fool

Caring too much is such a juvenile fancy
Learning to trust is just
For children in school

I believe that the entire Liberal community has fallen in love with love; with the “concept” of ObamaCare. They want their vision of it to be true, And what is that vision?

Health care for everyone at no cost to anyone.

When you strip away the rhetoric, the details on the promises that were impossible to keep, that’s what people who wanted it thought they were getting.

Like a love-struck suitor, they can’t believe that the object of their affection doesn’t exist. They insist that it does and deny any evidence to the contrary. When the application software doesn’t work it’s because people are actually trying to use it. When the prices cause sticker shock, they can’t believe it. Wait until they find out that doctors are retiring and they will not be able to get help when they need it.  Be careful, at some point, spurned love turns to hate.

I fell in love with love one night
When the moon was full
I was unwise with eyes
Unable to see

I fell in love with love
With love everlasting
But love fell out with me
