The week in whoppers: Biden’s ‘unifying’ race riots, CNN’s inflation problem and more

This statement:

“Two summers ago, in the middle of a pandemic, we saw protests across the nation the likes of which you hadn’t seen since the 1960s. They unified people of every race and generation. Athletes and sports leagues boycotted and postponed games. Companies and workers proclaimed ‘Black Lives Matter.’ Students staged solidarity walkouts.”

 President Biden, May 25

We say: Biden must have been in his basement in summer 2020. Peaceful protests quickly turned into riots and looting, and Americans took notice: Their support for Black Lives Matter fell 12 points between June and September 2020, per Pew. NPR’s headline on an Ipsos survey that same month: “Americans Increasingly Polarized When It Comes To Racial Justice Protests, Poll Finds.”

According to the Left, there's nothing quite as unifying as a summer of race riots.

The New Normal Is Failure

Look around and all you see is failure.

A bunch of kids are being murdered by some semi-human, so what do you do? Draw your weapon and put him down or die trying? Or do you sit there, doing nothing?

The same government we’re supposed to give up our guns to because they have it all under control chose Option B. It chose failure.

Tell me more about how the real problem is that we have the capacity to defend ourselves.

But the real problem, to our enemies, is not that murderers murder. The real problem, to our enemies, is the very fact that we can defend ourselves. The objective of our trash elite is not to have a country that runs well, where people are secure, and where rights are respected. The objective is to rule. And if a bunch of kids die for that, they’re fine with it. They can live with failure, but not accountability.

The clusterfark in Uvalde is just a symptom of a much bigger pathology. It is a symbol of the failure of every institution in our society. And the solution is never to revamp the institutions and eject the parasites heading them. It’s always – always – to take power from us and give it to the people who screwed up in the first place.

Show of hands – who was shocked to hear that this creep was on law enforcement’s radar before his killing spree?

I see a distinct lack of hands.

Comment about the police action in Uvalde

How in the hell can anyone stand outside of the school while hearing gunshots coming from a classroom full of kids and not do SOMETHING.

If you're a cop and you have a gun, you damn well better beat down that door after the first shot.

If there is no shooting, I get it...maybe a hostage situation.

But once a shot is fired you go.

I understand that law enforcement officers are not obligated to risk their lives to protect anyone.

If true, that's even more reason to own a gun ad learn how to use it.

Start thinking of the police as revenue generators for your town/city and that would be an accurate job description.

They carry guns to protect themselves. You? Not so much...

The liberals have demonized and feminized law enforcement at every turn, and this is the result.

The Other Monsters Among Us

There are monsters who shoot and kill innocent people.  And some monsters create and enable them.

[There are] evil people who walk among us every single day who do actually do horrible things and are on their way to Hell. Then there are those who see the evil done and think, “I can use that to get what I want.” While they have not engaged in the evil, they gleefully exploit it, which makes them a special breed of monster.

I don’t know how a progressive Democrat who hears of a tragedy and becomes aroused by the prospect of how they can use it can live with themselves. It’s disgusting. It’s also common. The Buffalo shooting immediately became about “white supremacy” and was used to pronounce everyone who isn’t an active Democrat guilty by proxy. The Laguna Woods shooting and the New York City subway shooting immediately became about…nothing. It’s like ServePro came through and wiped those from the left’s memory – like it never even happened. They weren’t useful, they didn’t matter.

Now, Uvalde, Texas. The killer there is a Hispanic guy with known mental problems. The only difference with Buffalo is the skin color, but that difference means Uvalde can’t be used to argue white supremacy, so they reverted to the inanimate object.

The gun is to blame now. It didn’t walk itself into that school, it didn’t murder those innocent people any more than the car Waukesha drove itself through the Christmas parade trying to kill as many white people as possible. But just as the left would have you believe Waukesha was committed by Herbie the Love Bug gone bad and not a black supremacist who swallowed Democrat talking points his whole life, they want you to believe the gun came to life in Texas and committed mass murder.

Before an accurate body count was make or horrified family members could be notified, Democrats in government and the media were dancing on the yet to be dug graves.

They are monsters.

Death is just collateral damage

Virginian Pilot Blames Racism for Everything

The headline: Prayer vigils are being held across Hampton Roads in response to racially motivated shootings nationwide

But that's a lie.  When a young Hispanic man enters a mostly Hispanic grade school in Texas and kills nearly 20 people, you have to be racially obsessed, like the people who write and edit the Virginian Pilot to attribute that horrific crime to racism.  When a mentally deranged white boy who identifies as a radical Leftist kills ten people in a Black neighborhood in Buffalo, people obsessed with skin color scream "racism" instead of mental illness.  When an ethnic Chinese man enters a Church in California and begins shooting other Chinese people the cry goes out from the races-obsessed that "it's racism."

The writer of the article is Caitlyn Burchett and she identifies as a Staff Writer.  She's young, white, and appears race-obsessed.  Like many on the Left, she's busy stoking the fires of racism.

Dozens of parishioners and community members gathered on the steps of Norfolk’s Basilica of St. Mary — the only African American basilica in the country — Monday evening to pray for an end to racism and violence following coast-to-coast hate crimes earlier this month.

Why the Virginian Pilot hates Americans

This article explains why the people who work at the Virginian Pilot take out their hate on ordinary Americans.

First, an explanation.  Kris Worrell, Editor in Chief, and Brian Colligan, Opinion Editor of the Virginian Pilot, decided to publish these editorial cartoons that accuse you of being a mindless hater and a stone-cold killer because Fox News feeds you hate.   Freddy DeBoer believes it's "displacement."

Displacement is a psychological defense mechanism in which a person redirects a negative emotion from its original source to a less threatening recipient. A classic example of the defense is displaced aggression. If a person is angry but cannot direct their anger toward the source without consequences, they might "take out" their anger on a person or thing that poses less of a risk.

The problem is that people working in newspapers are in a dying industry.  They got into the business because it sounded great, and there was no heavy lifting.  They may have student loans that they can't pay off.  Journalism was once a place where you could earn a decent living, now you can't.  As newspapers lose revenue, they look at salaries - usually the biggest line item in any company's cash flow statement and reduce headcount, cut pay, and eliminate benefits.

Newspapers are being combined to cut costs, but in the process, jobs are eliminated.  No one is immune.  The editors and writers who are hanging on to their jobs with their fingernails are going to displace their anger at their situation.  They will turn their anger to less threatening recipients: people who voted for Trump, Glenn Younkin, or people who watch Fox News.

The Virginian Pilot - along with virtually all of the legacy media - are so reflexively Left that virtually every article manages to either insult or mislead ordinary Americans.  An entire parallel media channel has sprung up to serve Americans interested in news and political discourse.

Freddy DeBoer is a writer for Substack, a subscription service for news and opinion.  He asks:

"...why are so many people subscribing to Substacks? What is the traditional media not providing that they’re seeking elsewhere? Why have half a million people signed up as paying subscribers of various Substack newsletters, if the establishment media is providing the diversity of viewpoints that is an absolute market requirement in a country with a vast diversity of opinions? You can try to make an adult determination about that question, to better understand what media is missing, or you can read this and write some shitty joke tweet while your industry burns to the ground around you. It’s your call.

The people in the legacy media see their ship sinking.  They see their future is in doubt.  Several years ago, one suggested that coal miners who were losing their jobs "learn to code."  It was a cruel joke, an exhibition of how they felt about a group of people they looked down on as their inferiors.  As news people lost their jobs, the compliment was returned.

Let me suggest a more practical solution, learn a useful trade.  The world does not need another editor spreading hate and division.  It needs people who can fix a dishwasher or install a light fixture.  Get a real job.

This is the Disgusting Virginian Pilot - Sunday May 22, 2022

The Virginian Pilot's Editors hate you, and they don't care who knows it.

Murder is rampant as violent people roam the streets.  Guns are not the problem.  They are not escaping from homes and committing murder.  There are killers on the loose, and people are afraid of them.

Guns are tools.  The killers are people; the Virginian Pilot is a tool in the hands of haters who are willing to lie to achieve their objective.  They inject poison into the veins of the public discourse.  Like killers with guns, the people who wield the Virginian Pilot like a weapon want you dead.

So let's look are the real problem and see who is busy killing the culture.

They are people, and they have names.

DeSantis knows that he’ll never have a friend in the MSM. He not only doesn’t care, but he also embraces the fact.

At Last, a Hill to Die On

So now the mask has dropped and, for the first time, the American people can see the modern Left in all its hateful, unadorned, vituperative, spiteful glory. Case in point: the announcement last week that the Department of Homeland Security—one of the excrescences of the Bush administration, cobbled together in its panic over 9/11—has created the "Disinformation Governance Board" in order to combat what it has, via its hitherto little-known Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, already dubbed "mis-, dis-, and mal-information." Otherwise known as alternative points of view, but shut up, citizen.

EXPERT VIEW ‘Deep State’ Was Working Against Trump on COVID-19 Response: Paul Alexander

According to Paul Alexander, when former President Donald Trump was trying to tackle COVID-19 in 2020, the “swamp” or the “deep state” was working against him, using flawed data to tarnish him, locking down society, and keeping schools closed.

“Can you imagine the president of the United States fighting against the [teachers’] union, fighting against the [Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)], fighting against his own task force?” Alexander told EpochTV’s “Facts Matter” program in an interview that will air on May 3.

“They’re working against him. So you need to be there to understand when he said ‘the swamp’—and he talked about deep state—it is real. I dealt with them. It is the bureaucracy. The entrenched bureaucracy is real.”

From late March till early September 2020, Alexander served as scientific adviser to Michael Caputo, then-assistant secretary for public affairs at the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

During that time, Alexander was attacked by the media and some health agency officials for trying to “tweak” the COVID-19 death numbers in the CDC’s Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR).

On Aug. 8, 2020, in an email to Caputo (pdf) and other officials, Alexander wrote: “CDC to me appears to be writing hit pieces on the administration and meant at this time to impact school re-openings and they then send it to the media knowing it is deceiving. I ask it be stopped now! … Nothing to go out unless I read and agree with the findings how they CDC, wrote it and I tweak it to ensure it is fair and balanced and ‘complete.’ And not misleading.”
