Happy New Year
Taking time out from polemical over-kill to wish those who visit here a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year.
Mark Steyn: "He's not Muslim, he's just mentally ill."
The incomparable mark Steyn remarks, in his inimitably un-PC way on the way the media (including FOX) treats certain people who commit certain acts and belong to a certain religion. And the insular and insulated, protected and pampered Ruling Class.
Diversity seems to be working out fine in the upper echelons of society. But lower down the ladder identity-group politics requires ever more virulent demonization of "the other". Otherwise, how's an ugly thug race-baiter like Al Sharpton supposed to stay in business? And so #blacklivesmatter, and Rafael Ramos and Wen Jian Liu are serviceable stand-ins for Bull Connor, as was "white Hispanic" George Zimmerman a couple of grievances back. Aside from being a respectable NBC anchor and a welcome guest at Obama's White House, the Reverend Al is said to be the "co-mayor" of New York. This term is largely metaphorical - for the moment. But you can already discern the contours of the American future: A chichi Green Zone within which the consequences of identity-group politics are confined mainly to sudden vapors over microagressions and nanoaggressions, and the plump prosperous power-brokers of "social justice" live lives comfortably undisturbed by the passions they foment when they jet forth with ever larger entourages to toss some red meat to the mob in Ferguson or Staten Island. And beyond the Green Zone a land of minimal economic opportunity fracturing into ever fiercer tribal resentments that find ever more violent expression. If you want the picture in a nutshell, the same Department of Homeland Security that declines to fence America's vanished southern border is recommending the fence round the White House be made even taller. The Obamas and de Blasios and Sharptons will always be inside the fence. The effects of their policies are largely on the other side.~Is it relevant that Ismaaiyl Abdullah Brinsley is a Muslim? Maybe not. But it isn't so irrelevant that every news outlet (including Fox) has to be quite so cautious about mentioning it at all. Newsday, one of the few papers that did, reported the view of Robert Boyce, the NYPD's Chief of Detectives:
Boyce said Brinsley had no gang affiliation or tattoos. His family is Muslim but the NYPD found no indication that he was religious or that the slaying was motivated by religion. He said the family said he never manifested "any radicalization."
So the preferred explanation is mental illness:The shooter may have had an undiagnosed mental illness, according to his family, and may have been on medication "later on in life," Boyce said in a briefing in Manhattan. But he said he had no official reports of any mental illness.Indeed. In fact, there's less hard evidence for any mental illness than there is for "radicalization", at least to the extent that Brinsley appears to have posted on his Facebook page the Koranic soundbite about "striking fear into the enemies of Allah". Nevertheless, the preferred explanation is that Brinsley was mentally ill, just like the guy who beheaded a coworker in Oklahoma was mentally ill, and the Sydney bloke who took those hostages at the coffee shop was mentally ill, and the son of the Canadian Refugee Board honcho who killed a soldier at the Canadian War Memorial was mentally ill. They were also all Muslim. Oh, and the fellow in France who ran down 11 people with his car while shouting "Allahu Akbar!" only yesterday has already been pronounced mentally ill. By sheer coincidence, he was Muslim, too.

“He’s a great kid, an educated kid, a child who knows what he wants and is very active in the community.”
That's how Bishop Derrick Robinson of Kingdom Destiny Fellowship International described him to the Post-Dispatch.
He's also an arsonist and a thief.
St. Louis County police arrested Joshua Williams, 19, of St. Louis, on Friday after several local media outlets and store surveillance captured images of him trying to set a pile of wood on fire outside the QuikTrip on North Hanley Road early Wednesday.
Williams confessed to setting fires at the store in a videotaped interview, according to court documents.
Police told the Post-Dispatch that Williams used lighter fluid to set fires inside and outside the QuikTrip. In addition to his first-degree arson charge, a felony, he was also charged with felony burglary and misdemeanor stealing for allegedly taking a lighter, gum and money from the store, the paper reported.
If this is one of the "good" kids in the Black community, what does it take to be bad?

Unpunished vandalism rampage inspired by Rolling Stone’s U.Va. rape story
It turns out the UVA is a breeding ground for Leftists who think that violent attacks on people they don't like is admirable.
Yet finding a student willing to admit his or her role as well as eyewitnesses who saw the group conduct the attack was relatively easy for a Washington Times reporter who spent two days on campus. After all, a witness who found a cellphone at the scene he believed belonged to a perpetrator gave the device to police.Even Liberals like Alan Dershowitz are starting to worry:
The witness, who spoke to The Times only on the condition of anonymity because of fears of retaliation, said the cellphone had a text message from a second person he believed also participated in the attack. “That was exhilarating,” the message said.
After finding witnesses, cellphone information and social media postings bragging about the attack, The Times tracked down a male student identified by witnesses as a possible leader of the attack. The student agreed to talk to The Times only on the condition that his name wasn’t published, saying he didn’t want police to find him.
The young man, the progeny of a privileged family, readily and unrepentantly admitted his role and described the attack his friends carried out in details that match police and eyewitness reports. He also said he knew his actions would be considered illegal.
“I texted one of my friends and I was like, ‘Let’s throw bottles at the Phi Psi house tonight,’ and she said, ‘Yes!’ I think that the article made it clear that victims at the university have no legitimate channels to take action, and I think vandalism is a completely legitimate form of action when like, legitimate authority is corrupt. I think it was justified,” he said in an interview with The Times.
Asked whether he believed the ends generally justified the means, he casually replied, “Sure.” He also said he is not opposed to “armed revolution” as a means to end what he termed “systemic oppression.”
The student said his group of friends sent an anonymous letter to various news organizations several hours after the attack warning that it was “just the beginning.” The letter threatened to “escalate and provoke until certain demands were met,” including “an immediate revision of university policy mandating expulsion as the only sanction for rape and sexual assault.”
The mentality on campus — including from the one student who claimed to have taken part in the attack — raises issues far beyond a single criminal act, analysts say.
Alan Dershowitz, one of the nation’s premier defense lawyers and a Harvard law professor, told The Times that university displays of double-standards in excusing violence from the political left and failing to punish activities such as attacks on fraternity houses can have dangerous consequences.
“Look at people like [Bill] Ayers and [Bernardine] Dohrn, who were violent radicals in the 1970s who now hold distinguished positions of respect [at universities]. It’s clearly a left-right issue. No one would reward the Ku Klux Klan decades after their acts of violence, but if violence is committed by the hard left, then it becomes acceptable in the academic context,” Mr. Dershowitz told The Washington Times.
Mr. Dershowitz also said the mentality expressed by the student who claims to have participated in the fraternity house attack also should raise alarm.
“It’s the notion of collective punishment; you punish an entire fraternity for the allegations of several people, and you take the law into your own hands, and it’s a total violation to the notion that punishment should be based on proof of individual guilt,” he said. “It’s become a mantra of the radical left, whether it’s about punishing all policemen for Ferguson or all fraternity persons for alleged rapes. It’s a road to lawlessness.
“That’s the argument the terrorists make,” he said. “That’s the argument that Hamas makes, that al Qaeda makes, and it’s the argument that some radical Weathermen made in the U.S. when they blew up universities in the 1970s. It’s the first baby step on the road to justifying terrorism.”
Many students on campus seemed apathetic to seeing the attackers brought to justice. One young woman who answered the front door of her sorority told The Times that she did not feel the fraternity attack was the right story to cover.
“I think the next important story is continuing to focus on the problem of sexual assault of young women on campuses, whether Jackie’s story is true or not,” she said.
Asked whether she felt it was important to consider the rights of the fraternity members and the violence inspired by the falsities published by Rolling Stone, she paused and said, “Well, I guess that’s true.”
Remember who the Left blamed for the Gabby Giffords shooting?
Remember the "climate of hate" that the Left said was responsible for the shooting of Congresswoman Giffords? It turns out that the shooter was a nut who friends identified as Liberal. But that did not stop the Left as they went after the people they love to hate.
They included:
- Sarah Palin (for "targeting" Giffords for defeat in the upcoming election) by MSNBC's Keith Olberman, Daily Kos founder Markos Moulitsas, Liberal political consultant and blogger John Aravosis. And, of course, every Lefty driven insane by the Democrats in their war on Conservatives.
- The Tea Party movement
Palin-led tea party movement had normalized a brand of violent rhetoric that stirs up voters. Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik, who called Arizona “the Mecca for prejudice and bigotry.”
- Talk Radio, Republicans: Paul Krugman accused Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, and the entire Republican Party:
“Let me say one thing, because people tend to pooh-pooh this business about all the vitriol that we hear inflaming the American public by people who make a living off of doing that. That may be free speech, but it’s not without consequences.”
....Giffords’ weeping father, who said, when asked if the congresswoman had enemies: “Yeah…the whole Tea Party.”
“You know that Republicans will yell about the evils of partisanship whenever anyone tries to make a connection between the rhetoric of Beck, Limbaugh, etc. and the violence I fear we’re going to see in the months and years ahead,” Krugman wrote on the Times website. “But violent acts are what happen when you create a climate of hate. And it’s long past time for the GOP’s leaders to take a stand against the hate-mongers.”
But let a racist Black Muslim kill a couple of NY city cops after weeks of marches and inflammatory, racist and lying rhetoric encouraged by every political Leftist from Obama to Holder to De Blasio to Al Sharpton, and let that killer give his reasons for murder the deaths of several black criminals, and all the cockroaches who have been egging on these weak minded petty criminals scurry for cover. You can be sure that Olberman, Moulatsis, Dupnik, Krugman and every other Lefty who went after Palin, the Tea Party, talk radio and the GOP are going to deny that their rhetoric hand anything to do with triggering the killer. But their connection to the killer's motives could not be clearer. He gives their rhetoric and issues as the reason for his decision to kill the cops.
What do you get when you provide support for mobs that chant that they want "dead cops,"
What do you get when you tell people to shoot cops? You get what you ask for ...

#illridewithyou Was Even More Fraudulent Than I Thought
When an Islamic terrorist took hostages in a Sydney, Australia cafe this week, the first thing our moral, ethical, and intellectual betters did — before the siege was even over, before two of the hostages were killed — was change the subject.
The real victims weren’t the hostages. The real victims were Muslims who were too scared to use public transportation because of the imminent anti-Muslim violence that never happened. To combat this nonexistent threat, some genius proposed the Twitter hashtag #illridewithyou, which was supposed to somehow show solidarity with the “victims.” And of course, it went viral among journalists and other people who don’t care about the truth.
As it turns out, #illridewithyou was an even emptier gesture than I first thought. The incident that so inspired all those smug leftists worldwide didn’t actually happen. John Hayward explains:
What never occurs to the Special Snowflake Brigade is that their crusades amount to vicious slander against the people they collective accuse of harboring the darkest thoughts, and hovering moments away from taking the most terrible actions. While a real terrorist was subjecting his captives to hours of sheer terror that ended with gunfire and bloodshed, Jacobs was inventing an imaginary incident of cultural oppression to denounce her entire society for something it didn’t actually do.
In fact, she was doing exactly what she falsely accused Australians of doing to Muslims. She’s every bit as prejudiced as the imaginary bigots the #illridewithyou crowd took an ostentatious stand against; her bigotry simply has different, more politically correct targets. She wraps up her Brisbane Times column by trying to exile her imaginary hobgoblins from Australia, in precisely the same terms that would doubtless drive her incandescent with rage if they were directed at the groups she favors ...
It’s interesting to note that even the original version of Rachel Jacobs’ story was pretty thin, and relied heavily on her final encounter with the alleged “oppressed Muslim woman” for what little veracity it had; that parting scene confirmed that the woman had removed her headscarf as a concession to bigotry, and was grateful for Jacobs’ support to reclaim her dignity. That’s the part that occurred entirely as a delusional breeze wafting between the windmills of Jacobs’ mind. The #illridewithyou hoax only worked because so many people were eager to receive such confirmation of their prejudices, such validation of their feelings of superiority over the miserable cavemen who make up the quietly seething racist bulk of their societies. As America has been learning to its cost over the past six years, it is a very bad idea to put people who feel that way in charge of your government.
Now, are the global media outlets who pushed the #illridewithyou hoax so energetically going to pay equal attention to the author’s admission that she made the whole thing up out of whole cloth?

Gunman executes 2 NYPD cops as ‘revenge’ for Garner
When you incite violence and excuse violence, you get what you ask for.
Over the coming days and weeks you will see the Liberal media scuttle away like roaches from the environment and hate they created. Two uniformed NYPD officers were shot dead Saturday afternoon as they sat in their marked police car on a Brooklyn street corner — in what investigators believe was a crazed gunman’s assassination-style mission to avenge Eric Garner and Michael Brown.
“I’m Putting Wings on Pigs Today,” a person believed to be the gunman wrote. “They Take 1 Of Ours . . . Let’s Take 2 of Theirs,”
De Blasio did what he could to stoke racial violence between the police and "his" constituents.
It is the sequence that every mayor dreads: the ominous report, the scramble to the hospital and the confirmation that, yes, an attack against the police has proved fatal.
But for Mayor Bill de Blasio, the tragedy on Saturday — when two police officers were shot and killed in an ambush in Brooklyn, according to the authorities — arrived at a particularly trying moment, amid an already fractious relationship with the police.
Police union leaders and officers could be seen turning their backs to the mayor and the police commissioner, William J. Bratton, as they walked past, in a video taken at the hospital where the two held a news conference on Saturday.
A written message from Edward Mullins, president of the Sergeants Benevolent Association, addressed the mayor directly. “Mayor de Blasio,” it read in part, “the blood of these two officers is clearly on your hands.”
Al Sharpton got what he wanted:

What does Teresa Sullivan and the bigots who railroaded the Scottsboro Boys have in common? Pretty much everything.
The Scottsboro Boys were nine black teenagers accused of raping two white women in Alabama in 1931. The case had everything: race, sex, lies about sex, hysterical women, a rush to judgment and the assumption of guilt. It was a landmark case because it tried to use prejudice and mob rule as a substitute for a fair trial. And when the “victims” turned out not to be a victims, the bigots who rushed to judgment were not satisfied. They “knew” that black men always wanted to rape innocent white women whenever they could.
The similarity is startling. The ante-bellum South was obsessed with the belief in oversexed black men. Fast forward to today where feminists of all sexes are obsessed over what they claim is “rape culture.” The fact that violent crime, including rape has dropped dramatically in the last two decades is irrelevant. Men are beasts and women are victims and truth is a irrelevant. It’s bad everywhere, but especially bad in college where men are believed to be mass raping women. It’s so bad that coeds are holding vigils to “take back the night.” No less an authority figure than President Obama insists that “one in five” college women are raped before graduation. Others say it’s even worse: that the real number is“one in four.” If that’s true, it makes a college campus more dangerous than Mogadishu.
Enter Rolling Stone magazine with a rape fantasy even more graphic that Fifty Shades of Gray. And just as true. An innocent young coed … brutally raped, on broken glass, for three hours, by seven white, rich, Southern, privileged men and one beer bottle. All this on the campus founded by a slave-owner and run by an administration that didn’t care what happened to innocent womanhood.
Eric Owens: Erdely hoped her wildly implausible 9,000-word, agenda-driven excuse for journalism would emphasize “the larger theme of a university culture and social scene indifferent even to the most brutalized victims of rape.”
With all the right buttons pushed, UVA’s administration headed by Teresa Sullivan swung into action. The first thing was to ban all fraternity activity. The story was so plausible to the feminist culture on campus that there were no questions about the plausibility of the story. Like the residents of Alabama in 1931, the people in charge were ready to believe. Like night follows day there were protests, vigils, candles, demonstrations, vandalism and an academic lynch mob. And Teresa Sullivan, who survived being fired by the university’s board just a few years ago, decided that her position was to be the leader of the mob. She knew that the way to remain in her cushy position was to feed to prejudices of the feminists. She knew her audience, because no matter what the press may say, UVA is in every way representative of American academic bigotry and bias. Those mobs, those demonstrators, the people trashing the frat house didn’t have to be created. They were already there, like the racists of 1931 Alabama, hoods and nooses at the ready, to take down the despoilers of innocent maidenhood. And even as the story was falling apart, the truth didn’t matter. Because there’s a large truth, the fable of a campus rape epidemic where every untoward glace, awkward fumble, every drunken hook-up is evidence of the heteronormative patriarchy holding the womyn down.
Sullivan told The Washington Post that the suspension of fraternity and sorority activities would remain in place until Jan. 9, as the university pursues a wide-ranging discussion on sexual assault and campus culture.
Law Professor Glenn Reynolds: “So the story’s a hoax, but the punishment remains because conversation. Sullivan’s response has been disgraceful.”
We sent an e-mail to Sullivan’s office asking for a statement from her. We have yet to hear back.

Vandalized: Residence of U-M Student Who Dared to Mock Trigger Warnings
Here's the offensive article
Do the Left ThingTRIGGER WARNING!It was one of the coldest days of this winter past, and I was hurrying along the Diag to class. The blistering cold did not turn my eyes from all the white privilege falling around my. All those white snowflakes falling thick upon the autumn leaves, burying their colors. Majoring in womyn’s studies, I’ve learned that oppression comes in many forms. Sometimes we fail to notice it because it’s just everywhere – just like that white snow.As I walked, I slipped on a patch of wet leaves lining the steps of the Hatcher, and I fell forward headfirst onto the steps of the library. If it hadn’t been for the left hand that I thrust out right before my fall, I would have ended up just another statistic in the war on colored people. As it were, a white cis-gendered hetero upper-class man came down the steps just as I was falling. He looked at me with that white man’s burden face that I see too often on this racialized campus.“Cold, isn’t it?”Behind his words I sensed a patronizing sneer, as if he expected me to be a spokespersyn for my whole race. He offered his hand to help me up, and I thought to myself how this might be a manifestation of the patriarchy patronizing me. I doubt he would’ve said those violent words had I been white, but he would take any opportunity to patronize a colored m@n or womyn. People on this campus always box others in based on race. Triggered, I waved his hand aside and got up of my own accord. He was taken aback. Suddenly I felt I was taking back some of that lost agency that colonialism had robbed my people of. I felt like Aamir Khan in Lagaan. That’s right, that white man wasn’t about to tax me. I didn’t even want to be that white. I turned on my heels and showed him my back.He shouted after me, “I was just trying to do the right thing!”The right thing… The right thing… I became so aware at that moment of the left hand that I had thrust out before falling, and suddenly my humanity was reduced to my handydnyss. The words rang in my eardrums, and my blood throbbed. This was the microaggression that broke the gender-neutral camel’s back. But unlike other microaggressions, this one triggered a shift in my worldview. All this while, I had been obsessed only with the color on this campus. All of a sudden, though, that became a side issue. All those race-based microaggressions now seemed trivial. I had, I realized, forgotten to think intersectionally. The biggest obstacle to equality today is our barbaric attitude toward people of left-handydnyss. It’s a tragedy that I, a member of the left-handed community, had little to no idea of the atrocious persecution that we are dealt every day by institutions that are deeply embedded in society. So deeply embedded, and so ever-present, that we don’t even notice them. But then I think to the word sinister. In our English, it means evil. But that’s because it used to mean left-handed in the Latin, and left-handyd people, especially those of color, were considered evil. In organic chemistry, we are taught R and S distinctions. I realize now that whenever we came across a left-handyd enantiomer in the coursepack, I could just feel the patronizing gaze of the right-handed members of the class on the back of my neck. And now I finally understand why.And the University of Michigan does literally nothing to combat the countless instances of violence we encounter every day. Whenever I walk into a classroom, I can hardly find a left-handyd desk to sit in. In big lecture halls, I’m met with countless stares as I walk up the aisle along the left-handyd column. The University cannot claim to be my school while it continues to oppress me. We need to find allies with other minority groups and work against the establishment. This campus must be at the forefront of progress in America.Yes, our president might be left-handyd. But that does not represent the pathetic living conditions of so many left-handyd people around the world, and even here in the United States, who are constantly threatened simply because they write or eat with a different hand. Even today, left-handyd individu@ls are paid 68 cents to the dollar that right-handed individuals are paid.It is 2014, people. Still, change starts with awareness. Until right-handed people, especially cis-gendered hetero white males in salmon shorts, do not start checking their privilege, we will continue to live in inequality. No longer will I persevere in patience. No longer will I suffer in silence. I am a left-handyd individu@l, and my humanity needs be respected! The next time someone tells you to Do the right thing! turn around and flick them off with your left middle finger.Do the left thing.

Run, Ted, Run
Ted Cruz is running for president.
To hell with the independents. That’s not usually the animating principle of a presidential campaign, but for Ted Cruz’s, it just might be.His strategists aren’t planning to make a big play for so-called independent voters in the general election if Cruz wins the Republican nomination. According to several of the senator’s top advisers, Cruz sees a path to victory that relies instead on increasing conservative turnout; attracting votes from groups — including Jews, Hispanics, and Millennials — that have tended to favor Democrats; and, in the words of one Cruz strategist, “not getting killed with independents.”

O'Rourke is funny! Read the whole thing.
Ms. Dunham is 28. I was under the impression that “girls” is a demeaning term for adult women. The title must have something to do with this hipster “Irony” thing, which I confess I don’t understand. The root of the word irony is in the Greek eironeia, “liar.”I had my 14-year-old daughter, Poppet, instruct me in how to watch an episode of Girls on my computer. (Turns out “content” is not completely “free.”)Two seconds into the opening credits I was trying to get my daughter out of the room by any means possible. “Poppet! Look in the yard! The puppy’s on fire! Quick! Quick! Run outside and roll him in the snow!”It turns out Girls is a serialized horror movie—more gruesome, frightening, grim, dark, and disturbing than anything that’s ever occurred to Stephen King.
O'Rourke is funny! Read the whole thing.

Leftists become incandescent when reminded of the socialist roots of Nazism
Daniel Hannan - in case we need another reminder - explains that Hitler was a socialist.
You can't accuse the NSDAP of downplaying the "Socialist" bit |
On 16 June 1941, as Hitler readied his forces for Operation Barbarossa, Josef Goebbels looked forward to the new order that the Nazis would impose on a conquered Russia. There would be no come-back, he wrote, for capitalists nor priests nor Tsars. Rather, in the place of debased, Jewish Bolshevism, the Wehrmacht would deliver “der echte Sozialismus”: real socialism.Goebbels never doubted that he was a socialist. He understood Nazism to be a better and more plausible form of socialism than that propagated by Lenin. Instead of spreading itself across different nations, it would operate within the unit of the Volk.So total is the cultural victory of the modern Left that the merely to recount this fact is jarring. But few at the time would have found it especially contentious. As George Watson put it in The Lost Literature of Socialism:It is now clear beyond all reasonable doubt that Hitler and his associates believed they were socialists, and that others, including democratic socialists, thought so too.The clue is in the name. Subsequent generations of Leftists have tried to explain away the awkward nomenclature of the National Socialist German Workers’ Party as either a cynical PR stunt or an embarrassing coincidence. In fact, the name meant what it said.Hitler told Hermann Rauschning, a Prussian who briefly worked for the Nazis before rejecting them and fleeing the country, that he had admired much of the thinking of the revolutionaries he had known as a young man; but he felt that they had been talkers, not doers. “I have put into practice what these peddlers and pen pushers have timidly begun,” he boasted, adding that “the whole of National Socialism” was “based on Marx”.
The Left, of course, smears the Right with the term Nazi and the "authoritarian" label:
One of my constituents once complained to the Beeb about a report on the repression of Mexico's indigenous peoples, in which the government was labelled Right-wing. The governing party, he pointed out, was a member of the Socialist International and, again, the give-away was in its name: Institutional Revolutionary Party. The BBC’s response was priceless. Yes, it accepted that the party was socialist, “but what our correspondent was trying to get across was that it is authoritarian”.In fact, authoritarianism was the common feature of socialists of both National and Leninist varieties, who rushed to stick each other in prison camps or before firing squads. Each faction loathed the other as heretical, but both scorned free-market individualists as beyond redemption. Their battle was all the fiercer, as Hayek pointed out in 1944, because it was a battle between brothers.Authoritarianism – or, to give it a less loaded name, the belief that state compulsion is justified in pursuit of a higher goal, such as scientific progress or greater equality – was traditionally a characteristic of the social democrats as much as of the revolutionaries.
You want to see what authoritarian looks like? Check out Barack Hussein Obama proudly proclaiming he has a pen and a phone. Proudly changing the immigration law with a memo to this Gauleiter at Homeland Security. Check out the EPA issuing rules for the rest of us to live by without even a cursory glance at Congress. Protocols of the Young Men of the Frat House
Every movement needs and enemy. Enemies that conspire against the good, the true and the just. They need to be exposed. So the people who hated Jews and blamed them for all the trouble in the world wrote an expose that was quite popular for a while: The Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion. Of course it was made up, but it served its purpose.
Jews still have their enemies, but women have discovered a new enemy that’s even more evil than Jews: men. Men represent the patriarchy. Men are tyrannical. Men wish to dominate women, keeping them barefoot and pregnant, in the kitchen, making sandwiches. Men conspire to keep women down and pay them less for the same job. And men rape. All men rape. Sex is rape. A slap on the bottom is rape. Copping a feel is rape. Sex without a condom is rape. President Obama, Vice President Joe Biden and every Democrat in elected office will swear that one in five college coeds is raped. Rape is so prevalent in college that parents who send their female children to college should be charged with child abuse.
But while the horrible, terrible, violent subjection of all women by all men is simply a fact – and if you deny it you’re a rape enabler, a Nazi and a DENIER - a lot of this is abstract, conceptual, statistical. It needs a narrative. To bring the narrative home, evil has to have a face and live in a place. And it found the author of the definitive narrative in Sabrina Rubin Erdely in Rolling Stone.
Ms. Erdely spent weeks, months, searching for just the right tale to illustrate the horror that men visit on women. They had to be just the right men; men who stood for the all the oppressors of women throughout time. They had to be white, which left out lots of juicy stories. They needed to be rich, and what better example of rich, white heteronormative oppression than frat boys at a University in a southern state. Duke had already been taken, with unfortunate results for feminists. But the University of Virginia, seat of “Southern aristocracy,” a school hailed for parties by Playboy itself, was perfect. Established by a wealthy slave-owner – Thomas Jefferson - accused of fathering children by his female slaves, what could be better?
And the story was perfect. A young innocent girl, selected for dastardly despoliation by a two-faced Snidely Whiplash, seduced by the promise of romance, ravaged by seven savage rapists, rolling in agony on glass shards, penetrated not just by male penises but beer bottles, for endless hours.
The evil that was rich, white men had been dragged out of the shadows by Sabrina Rubin Erdely. The conspiracy of silence, the conspiracy of DENIAL was exposed for the entire world to see.
And the feminists ate it up. And the media, herald of the feminists, reveled in the exposure of the conspiracy. The college administrators, Liberals to the bone condemned men individually and collectively. Politicians howled for blood. This was The Protocols of the Young Men of the Frat House and their evil was exposed for all to see. To become ‘brothers” men had to gang rape virgins. It was too good not to believe.
And today, even as the story unravels and the MSM turns the page, even the comments by people like Megan McArdle who questions the story but still believes in the evil college man. Here’s how college life for young men and young women is represented:
Rape is horrible, and it is indeed a problem on college campuses. I applaud the reporters who press for justice in these cases, the activists who are trying to curtail this criminal behavior, and the administrators who are looking for better ways to protect their students. Stories like Jackie's should certainly be reported, and so should the less extreme, more common, but still horrible attacks that countless women live through every year. Administrations should refer these cases to police when they happen on campus, and the government should prosecute them as vigorously as possible.
So this story may not be true, but countless women are raped by men on college campuses every year. Countless women!
As one woman wrote in response to McArdle’s column:
Megan, as the mother of a daughter who is in college, I appreciate the thoughtfulness of this article, and agree that the repercussions of this drama would make it harder for her if, God forbid, she should be in a situation anything even remotely like the Jackie story. But as the mother of a son in college, I am worried about the apparent lack of concern in the mainstream, and less ideological new media (of which there is not much), for HIS rights. I consider you to be a very reasoned author who is not prone to pushing any agenda, and would appreciate it if you would take the time to consider writing on that topic. As it stands, my third child, also a boy, will not be attending a liberal arts university, both by his preference, and increasingly, his parents. I never thought I'd be glad that my sons are both nerds who are awkward around girls and likely to spend their college years in classes that are nearly devoid of women. But, increasingly, it seems like the safest, if loneliest, path.Further, I predict that the ratio of men to women at liberal arts schools, which is already about 40/60, is going to plunge even more- though given the rush to judgment and punishment by the UVA faculty and administration, one wonders if that is actually the desired result.
I wonder if this is what feminists were aiming for fifty years ago when they told young women to throw off their tired old Victorian morals and live large. Why should men be the only ones to have all those notches on their bedposts? Women were now free to do the same. So we teach grade school kids how to put condoms on their sexual partners. College is for sexual exploration and the more enlightened are giving seminars on better sex.
We live in a strange world where “enlightened” attitudes change fast enough to give you whiplash. Where not just attitudes but genders are multiplying faster than rabbits. And nobody seems to be having fun.

The Problem with Philadelphia's Police
For years, Philadelphia police have had to live in the city, resulting in a department that largely mirrors the city’s demographics. That department, however, has been rife with corruption, mismanagement and excessive use of force.
Why Democrats are delusional.
Because here's how they view Republicans:
By offering that Republicans have become “more openly conservative” the insinuation is that they’ve been batsh**t crazy but are only now being honest about it. It’s been generally accepted by the media that the GOP has gone full Bircher while the Democrats are still a reasonable left-of-center entity. By believing their own press releases, Democrats saw no more need to debate.
An Interesting Summary of the FDR Supreme Court Rulings and the Re-ordering of America
This series of cases set the stage for an entirely new American governance that has little to do with the system the founders established. It was a revolution as profound as that of 1776, only no one sets off fireworks to commemorate the occasion.

Rich and Poor, Democrat and Republican
The delightfully droll Bud Norman reflects on race, gender and class.
On class:
Class used to be simpler, too. In our younger days rich people were all right so long as they earned their money in an honest and socially beneficial way, poor people were all right so long as their poverty resulted from hard luck or heredity, and most people considered themselves somewhere in between and thought themselves all right as well. Back then the rich people were presumed Republican, the poor people Democrat, and the folks in between chose sides according to their personal preferences. Now the very rich and the very poor tend to be Democrats, which imbues both with a sense of nobility, while the folks in the middle tend to vote Republican, which earns them a reputation as boobs. Because the Democrats’ candidates are invariably from the wealthier end of the party, usually having earned their wealth through political connections and speaking fees and marrying rich widows and other not very honest or socially beneficial ways, it requires a more complex theory of class than Marx and Engels ever conceived. The wealthiest and most liberal communities in America are the most segregated by both class and race, the poorest and most liberal communities can be counted on to continue voting for the policies that have created their segregated squalor, and the new rules somehow allow the former to retain their sense of moral righteousness and the latter to retain an even more spiritually satisfying sense of victimhood.

Special Report with Bret Baier Tops Several Evening Newscasts
Beats ABC in Baltimore, Jacksonville, Ft. Myers, Providence and St. Louis.
As a cable news program, this is quite an impressive feat for Special Report, as its rival World News Tonight is a broadcast program. With more than a double-digit advantage over Muir, Special Report easily beats World News Tonight. Baier also outperforms the broadcast program CBS’ Evening News with Scott Pelley in both Atlanta and Austin in household viewers. In cable news, Baier ranks #1 in the 6PM/ET hour, beating CNN, MSNBC, and HLN combined in both demo and total viewers. Averaging more nearly 2.5 million in total viewers, Special Reports ranks #3 with P2+ only behind primetime shows The O’Reilly Factor and The Kelly File.
Dear Media: This Elizabeth Lauten Nonsense Is Why Everybody Hates You
Last week, President Barack Obama pardoned a turkey prior to Thanksgiving Day, as is tradition. And as in previous years, his teenage daughters Malia and Sasha stood by his side. The daughters are cute as can be — and Malia is growing into an absolutely beautiful young woman. They are, however, teenagers. And they were, I guess, engaged in some mild teenage behavior — eye-rolling and smirking and what not. I watched a video of the event and didn’t really notice anything worth commenting on (apart from the interesting annual practice of Obama signing the cross over the turkey). But one minor Capitol Hill staffer thought the girls were dressed inappropriately and acted a bit churlish. And then, for some reason, she wrote about it on Facebook. At which point some people lost their everliving minds. Her comments were posted on Twitter where the social media mob fed their hankering for constant outrage. There were petitions calling for her to be punished. And worst of all the media wrote and broadcast story after story after story about the matter. Elizabeth Lauten lost her job for saying mean things about President Obama’s children. Now, Lauten is in communications and her job presumably included an assumption that she wouldn’t embarrass her boss. Besides, in a city where you can keep your job even if you’re involved in serious scandals at the IRS, State Department, Veterans Affairs or the Department of Justice, an actual job loss is refreshing, in its own way. She even gave a full-throated apology — within hours of the initial post — for being mean, not one of these “I’m sorry if” constructions that politicians frequently use.Still, what in the world was the media doing reporting on this non-story and firing up the mob? The Washington Free Beacon reported that “major media outlets are pouring resources into tracking her moves and digging into her past.” This included two network news vans camping outside of her parents’ home in North Carolina and a search of Lauten’s leaked juvenile records and college writings. This is insanity and each and every person involved should be ashamed of himself or herself. If you were involved, you are a big part of what’s wrong with journalism and you need to check yourself.
There's more, much more and it's worth every second it takes to read.
We will not run for president.
Despite the pleas of many in the community and around the country, we have decided that we will not be a candidate for the Presidency in 2016.
In this we join Bud Norman who made the same pledge just the other day.
Being in desperate need of some some self-aggrandizing publicity ourselves, and lacking anything else to write about on a slow news day, we have decided to follow Portman's lead and announce that we are also not going to run for president. This will come as a bitter disappointment to the multitudes of Americans who have looked to us for hope in these dark times, and we cannot deny the alarming possibility that it might result in someone even worse winning the office, but we think it is for the best.

Advice to Republicans: run against plutocrats, crony capitalists and welfare chislers
The Democrats are now the party of the ultra-rich silicon valley billionaires, wealthy Hollywood fat cats, Al Sharpton and Al Sharpton wanna bees, and crony capitalists like GE's Jeff Immelt. They have demonized the average American, labeling them "bitter clingers."
Believing that a coalition of Blacks, Hispanics and college professors who disdain Americans, like Jonathan Gruber, constitute an electoral majority, they have become identified as the party of the greedy rich, government power, welfare and contempt for working Americans.
That leaves the real American majority ready to be scooped up by the Republican party if they only have the wit to see it. They don't need, in fact they should shun, the people in the coalition that Obama built. The other America gave Republicans an overwhelming vote in 2014. The worst thing Republicans in office can do at this point is to turn it's back on them. Because if they do, they will, like a jilted lover, find someone who wants them. This is the point at which a third party can easily become a real possibility.

Obama Shafts Hillary With Amnesty and Ferguson
As Barack Obama invites in five million illegals to scoop up American jobs, and as those normal Americans lucky enough to still have jobs wait in traffic while morons block the freeway because some Swisher Sweets-puffing felon got himself killed, Hillary Clinton’s chances in 2016 plummet. So it turns out that Obama is likely to achieve one great thing as president – he’ll keep Hillary from ever occupying the Oval Office.
It is important to understand that neither the executive amnesty scam nor the bogus outrage over Ferguson actually had anything to with race per se. Obama and his gang are Marxists. This was always about class. The Obama coalition is not the traditional Democrat coalition. It is primarily a class coalition. It is the Democrat Party base and nothing more, made up of rich/academic upper class whites, the unionized government hack sub-class, and lower class welfare recipients. When it won in 2008 and 2012, the coalition added just enough others to push it over the top. But now, those others – primarily middle and working class people employed in the private sector – are fleeing to the GOP. And those were the people Hillary was counting on supply enough votes to win.
But if you are a regular person who works for a living, especially if you don’t live on a coast, Obama’s coalition doesn’t want you. In fact, it hates you. You’re a racist, and you’re greedy because you don’t want to give your hard-earned tax money to Democrat-voting deadbeats, and you are oh-so-uncouth that you probably never even listen to NPR. That leaves you just one potential political home, a home where Hillary does not live. I mean the GOP, not the bachelor pad Bill shares with his bimbos....
While this was great for solidifying the coalition that Obama hopes will keep him a power broker long after he leaves office, it’s an albatross for Hillary. Obama can remain a player with a 35% constituency, but Hillary needs 50% + 1 to win. The Obama coalition/Democrat base has the Chablis-swilling limo libs from Marin County, the AFSCME-dues paying DMV diversity consultants, and the big screen-watching EBT cardholder vote nailed down. Everyone else, not so much anymore. And Obama is clearly fine with that.

If all that military equipment given to the police is not to put down a race riot, what's it going to be used for?
Bud Norman: Tanks for nothing
Our friend is a conservative of the old-fashioned law-and-order variety and couldn’t understand the controversy that had briefly boiled up about in right-wing circles, even if it was a result of an Obama administration program, but he had to admit we had a point when we wondered if the President and his Attorney General intended that the equipment would be used to put down a race riot. The notion that the government was gearing up to put down broader dissent against some planned outrage would have once seemed paranoid to both our friend and us, but we agreed that these days it doesn’t seem so far-fetched.[snip]Seen in the broader context of the president’s efforts to assure the rioters that he understands their rage about police officers defending themselves against deadly threats, it appears likely that those reviews will find fault with any use of the equipment for such routine law enforcement responsibilities as putting down race riots. A generous interpretation would be that he’s merely trying to keep the story alive for a few more days to distract attention from his executive order legalizing five million or so illegal immigrants and thus inviting millions more in to enjoy the blessings of post-racial America, and that the executive order was merely meant to distract attention from the eight trillion or so of national debt that has already been added during his administration, or any of the scandals at the Internal Revenue Service or the National Security Administration or Department of Justice that make the more paranoid theories seem not at all far-fetched, but we still can’t help wondering how all the surplus military equipment is intended to be used.
