False Front and the Obama Campaign

Remember the old Westerns? The cowboys would ride into town whose one street was lined by stores with false fronts. In the old West, they were essentially wooden cutouts that were designed to hide the shabbiness of the actual building.

False fronts are a major part of movie making, in which the fronts of buildings are often facades which are far cheaper than actual buildings and are simply held up by props from behind.

There is an eerie and disturbing similarity between Barack Hussein Obama and a false front. Let’s face it, Obama looks great. I have nominated Obama as the cover model of GQ magazine. He is slim, trim and has a wonderful smile. When properly scripted he gives a great speech filled with vacuous platitudes that are designed to mean anything to anybody.

But behind that façade is at best a great emptiness, and at worst a shabby assembly of crooks and hustlers all propped up by what is arguably the most corrupt political machine in the country. When his admirers are asked to point to his accomplishments they change the subject to “change, hope and the future.” I have searched earnestly for Barack’s accomplishments. David Sirota, writing for the Leftist Nation magazine had this to say:

I was given a packet documenting Obama's accomplishments since his 2004 election, and it was hard not to be simultaneously impressed and underwhelmed. Given that he's one of the most junior members of the Senate, his successful efforts to secure additional funding for veterans' medical care and energy development in Illinois are no small feats. But considering that he's one of the most famous politicians in America, the accomplishments are fairly mundane.

In a famous U-Tube video, Texas State Senator Kirk Watson, an Obama supporter was asked by Chris Matthews on Hardball to give examples of Obama accomplishments. He could not come up with a single one.

Keep in mind this comes from his cheerleading section.

I have searched earnestly for a distinguished associate in his past and have come up empty. The name Tony Rezko comes up. His corruption trial has just gone to the jury and whether he is convicted or acquitted, this guy is a walking, talking example of political sleaze.

Jeremiah Wright has been all over the airwaves with his anti-Semitic, anti-American rants in which he – among other things – accuses America of inventing AIDS to wipe out Blacks.

Bill Ayers is, of course, a former and unrepentant member of the bombing terrorist group known as the Weather Underground. They did manage to kill several policemen and celebrated the Tate/LaBianca murders. Bernadine Dohrn, Ayers' wife had this to say:
“Dig it! Manson killed those pigs, then they ate dinner in the same room with them, then they shoved a fork into a victim's stomach.”

But they may be most remembered as because these three of the rich young murderers

...accidentally killed themselves in a Manhattan townhouse while attempting to build a powerful bomb they had intended to plant at a social dance in Fort Dix, New Jersey -- an event that was to be attended by U.S. Army soldiers. Hundreds of lives could have been lost had the plot been successfully executed.

Obama refers to Ayers as "guy who lives in my nieghborhood."

Even the Middle East terrorist group Hamas has let it be known that they would prefer an Obama presidency.

Which gets back to Obama and the false front.

Obama, viewed from the right perpective, is a charismatic figure. But walk a little bit to the side, take the trouble to examine the man from all sides, and the shabby, false structure of his carefully constructed facade is revealed. And what you see is not the least appealing.

Of course, he has his supporters: Blacks who are overshelmingly in his corner out of racial solidarity and Liberals for whom support of a Black man for the Presidency is a moral imperative.

But the rest of the country is unconvinced and is becoming ever more distrustful as the movie set that is the Obama image is shown to be propped up by the most disreputable supports. Despite the fact that Obama is headed for the Democrat nomination, his blowout defeat in West Virginia is a harbinger of what he will face in the general election. The drive-by-media is too far in the tank to pay much attention to West Virginia and will dismiss Obama's upcoming defeat in Kentucky. But the one thing that the extended primary fight did was to strip Obama of his glitter and show the man, warts and all. Perhaps we have Rush Limbaugh and Operation Chaos to thank for this. And perhaps God watches over America after all.
