The country is a little safer. Lightsquared had plans to build a system that would have destroyed the effectiveness of GPS systems used in everything from aircraft navigation and landing systems to the Garmin and Tom Tom in your car. Lightsquared is enmeshed in the Obama election and administration even to the extent of having Obama as an investor.
