Pastor Winans said a couple of things to the reporter.
“Not going to be afraid of us, Not going to be afraid of our sons. I’m sadden that it’s come to this. We just have to take a look at ourselves and say this just has to stop.”
Note that the race of the assailants was never specified but you knew who Winans was talking about when he said “us” and “our sons.”
But it won’t stop if – in the immortal words of Attorney General Eric Holder – we remain a “nation of cowards” when it comes to discussing race.
Too bad that most of the cowards are in the press, who are afraid to report gang attacks on their own reporters if the gang is the wrong color. It's almost as if they wanted racial antagonism to increase. it could be a cure for circulation problems. Nah, that would be too cynical; I'll just leave it as cowardice.
