It's French for "to encourage others." It's an expression being used to describe how the manifold scandals surrounding the Obama administration, especially the AP telephone search and the NSA spying scandal are being used to make people fall silent. The AP says its regular sources of information on the government are afraid to talk now. Electronic surveillance of Sharyl Attkisson’s computers is surely having an effect on other reporters who may have thought about investigating Team Obama crimes. Only the toadies like Chris Matthews have nothing to fear. He loves Big Brother.
There’s no question that it’s working. Intimidation always works to some extent, and when the so called “watchdog press” is already working full-time for the Obama regime it doesn’t take much to silence the few voices who may have spoken up. And those who will not be silenced are called crazy.
